Mr Potato Heads and many toys

I received a surprise sms from QQ’s former kindergarten teacher, Mrs Wong a few days back. She mentioned that she have got some fun toys to pass down to my kids. Because we have so much junk at home (and not wanting to pick up the toys everyday for the kids), I politely declined and say no thank you to her.

Mrs Wong again insisted that I should go and take a look at what she has got. So I drove over one morning, and did my FOC  green shopping. Guess what, all her toys are AWESOME!!

Mr Potato Head and friends (Playskool Mr. Potato Head Spud Buds) and some Heavy Equipments Trucks

Aren’t they cute? I fell in love the Potato Head immediately and it reminds me of the Toy Story 3 we have just watched very recently. The fun part is, the faces, hats, limbs and shoes can be dismantle so that the kids can mix match the combination by sticking them to the body (I have got a Potato, a Carrot and a Corn!)

There is a very nice Forklift (where it’s fork level can be adjusted)  and a Excavator (which can be dismantle and combine with other parts like the tower crane, changing wheels to the chain and so).

As hubby is now attached to heavy equipment related job, we have wanted to find these simple heavy equipment toys for the boys, but they are extremely costly so we did not get any for them. They have enough of their sister’s cooking junk to play, anyway.

Besides these, there is also a good tunnel (to be assembled in a creative way), educational wooden doll, and swimming gears too. Will take picture on those and update here soon.

Aren’t the boys so blessed? Not only the toys benefit the boys, even my big buffalo QQ is fighting over them.

We probably get something that is so valuable without knowing the price of the toys. Thank you so much again, to Mrs Wong for your kindness.

Boys @ 26 months

How time flies and now the boys are reaching their 26th month. The boys now take their milk from the cup only once a day in the morning. Unlike first baby, I am not very strict with them 0n food, so they get to eat whatever junks we are feeding ourselves.

Oh yes, they seldom get sick now ever since I put them on the magical supplement I shared in earlier post. They still weight very light (compare to kids at their age) although eating very well. I am contented as long as they are healthy and happy.

Last weekend, it was the first time they were given task to wipe the car. Reason was to keep them fussing from wanting to follow their sister who went cycling with her friends. They actually enjoyed the session a lot, each time they wipe off the water drops from the lower level of the car.

Looking up high at a plane which passed by

It is fun taking pictures of my kids now with my new camera. Although the picture quality is still not up to the standard I would like to have (effect from the changgih lens or so), but at least they are very much better than previous. Should put them on some Halloween costumes in future. No regret spending so much just to capture these special moments for us :)

4life Transfer Factor

Avis approached me many months back, when she read about my frequent rants on facebook on my boys who got sick so frequently early this year. Like many parents out there with multiple kids at home, I freak out each time one of my children gets sick, because not only I will have one cranky baby to nurse, but TWO (same age one some more!). And the worst part is when the virus pass from one to another and then, PASS BACK TO THE FIRST ONE and the cycle continuous……….

I was indeed very hesitate in the beginning to try this product because both hubby and I dislike taking supplement ourselves, what’s more giving them to our kids. Out of desperation (and also Avis’s persistant, *ahem*), I gave in. Won’t die trying one bottle anyway, although I must admit that I am EXTREMELY SHOCK when Avis told me to price (almost Rm180 per bottle for 90 tablets, can u believe it???!!!!)

I din even bother to research and find out more before purchase  what’s in there that make it so expensive, but I told hubby, since it is so expensive, it probably won’t be harmful, *grin*. Although hubby wasn’t very happy, but since I have bought and paid for it, he just close one eye (mou ngan tai).

This is the bottle I bought (image taken from the website http://www.transferfactor.com.my/images/Chewables.jpg)

Obvious Effect on my boys

I started giving the boys, one tablet each day but sometimes skip a few days in between (when I forgot about it!). There was a couple incidents where the boys got high fever >39 degree C. Not wanting to take risk and wait for them to be overheated, I still feed them paracetamol syrup. But amazingly they heal completely the next day without prolonged common sickness like running nose or cough (which seems quite unusual for sick kids, especially if their immune system is low).

Seriously I am not sure if it has got to do with the Transfer Factor (cow colustrum and egg yolk extract) tablets, but I can be very assure that this miracle only started ever since I started them on the tablets (remember, that’s not even daily, coz ITS TOO PRICEY!!!)

Although its a MLM product, I can just say as long as it helps, I wouldn’t mind trying it out (I do believe in some MLM products, as I was in Lampe Berger before and I could not live without it now). But always remember, a product might be good and working for someone, it sometimes could not help another, as each and our body is different (so sad that herbalife is working for so many, but it isn’t working for me, although I have been trying for 2 months :( )

It’s almost time to replenish and get our 2nd bottle, but hubby got even more cautious after seeing the tremendous effect on the kids. Too abnormal and scary result, he said. Sigh….

So, if you are a mom who is constantly worrying about your kids getting sick (with them passing the germs to one another at home, never ending craziness of weeks after weeks ), you might wanna give this a try ! Chin nee does not GUARANTEE ya….

Gentle Korkor vs. Tough Didi

10.08.10 / Child's Play, Just info, Parenting, Twins / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (12)

We try to make the boys take off their pants, go into bathroom together, squad down and brush their teeth. We just let them brush their teeth without toothpaste ((although non-flouride) as we afraid they will swallow it. Although they can spit out very well now, we still let them guggle only with drinking water just in case they swallow or drink it back.  Wonder at what age you let your kids use the real children’s toothpaste (like First Teeth, Pureen, Kodomo and such)?

Between the 2 boys, Korkor turns out to be the more “obedient” one. You can easily label this boy as “A Child Any Mum Would Love to Have” but I am worried he will be more timid in future.

For instant, yesterday they were making noise asking Kakak to make milk, and after making, they refuse to drink. No way I am gonna let them waste their expensive Pediasure, so I held a cloth hanger up high (no rotan at home, and the long ruler is downstairs), threatened them I’ll beat them.

Korkor sit down immediately and said (in Mandarin), “Mama, Korkor drink ah…korkor drink ah” (and he sip the whole half cup within less than a minute.

So what happened to Didi? I flung the hanger (gently tapping twice) at his cloth diaper since he refuse to obey me. Upon seeing so, Korkor shivers and sip even harder on the straw, LOL!!!!

So in the end, you think Didi obey me? Nah…usually this will not work on him. Instead he slammed himself down the mattress and CRY!!!

I forsee that this little boy of mine will be difficult to manage in the coming years.  But I like his tough, stubborn and very strong will character, and he is likely to be the more “outstanding one” among my 3 kids.

Twin Boys @ 25 months

Didi rocking Korkor and vice versa (very automatically once he see the other one is being stirred during sleep)

My boys are growing so quickly (although their mother complains so much about them daily). Thank God I have my mind occupied with Mama Patch so it kinda draw my focus and energy fully on their madness at home.

Unlike the other 2, Korkor is very easy to teach. He is the kind of kid that most teachers will love to have. He obediently follow all dance steps during singing time at playgroup, he will read after me loudly, on a book easily from first to last page, he turns BLUE immediately, run forward and obeys my words whenever I turn into a *BIG MONSTER* (while the other 2 just give me a blank stare, and then continue doing, as if I am transparent!)

Both the twins are very different, in character and also taste for food too. Recently hubby bought durians back and Didi will chase after us for Durian, while Korkor will just sit beside to look at us eating, but dislike the taste of it.

The boys talks and sing very well at this age. Its really fun to see them growing up at home (as long as they do not fight or disturb me when I am busy).

Found the camera!

Finally I found the camera that I could buy. It is small, extremely small like our normal digital camera, with the superb function of almost similar (but not totally) to a DSLR!

Currently, it is the smallest interchangeable lens digital camera in town, the Sony E Mount (Model: Sony NEX-5 or Sony NEX-3). Instead of Lumix GF1 (much more pricier), which is having only a four-third sensor lens size of a DSLR (I was told that sensor size makes a big difference to the pic quality, this Sony NEX has sensor almost as big as a DSLR (which is a good point there).

There are many comparison made, and sorry, don’t ask me more than that as I could not understand the camera terms. But I know  a small camera with so many functions like this isn’t gonna be as user friendly as a big DSLR, and that’s for sure (coz I tried the Lumix GF1, and wa-lau-eh, si beh difficult to operate comparing to my brother’s D90).

I have never been a fan of Sony Camera. Well, since DSLR is way too BIG for me to bring around, I will have no choice but to settle for something like this instead (which I gather there will be a long learning curve to master the function of this mini camera.

Lumix GF1 will be a good choice (I like Lumix as it’s more user friendly and I done a review here), but unfortunately it’s too pricey. Price range for Sony NEX is just nice for me, ranging from Rm1999 to Rm3k, depends on the lens. I can’t wait to check out this camera at the shop when I go check out on the short term health insurance NC during the weekend.

Slimming down with…

U won’t believe how lazy I am. It’s all just thought but no effort or action in slimming down the “proper way” (I mean exercise)

I can’t run sso jogging it totally out! Have been wanting to join back Yoga (can only make it at 8am before the boys are up), but it is so rushing every morning to get ready QQ, prepare her lunch box, and send her to school, always praying very hard that the boys will be wake up. So much of excuse for exercise, how to slim down?

Then I met an old friend who lost weight tremendously. She recommended me Amway products. No harm trying though, since it’s a Amway is a good product. I like the morning milk beverage, but I can’t stand the weird detox method (dilute lots of supplement with water and drink for 7 days each month). So I only took Positrim (morning beverage that’s suppose to replace breakfast).  Weird though, I hardly shed any weight . It could probably due to my big appetite, as I still eat like a horse!

Then I moved onto Herbalife with another close friend. In Herbalife, we drink very yummy morning shake and herba tea throughout all day long. I love the shake very much (mixing with cereal and sometimes some low fat milk). It is suppose to last for 4 hours, but for me, I can’t stand after 2 hours, so still eat a bit. Not a bit weight shed though, after almost taking that for a month!

I gathered that the only problem I am having is that I can’t stop eating. I have overly good appetite. And now I am trying one of the latest diets that work, I hope.

Will share with you again, if it really works on me, ok. *pray for me plzzzzzzzzzzz!*

Can’t hide age

Do you notice that  the SKII advertisement on TV would prefer to hire the middle aged women than the younger and prettier ones. Probably the product that they are selling are meant to be more suitable for middle age women’s skin?

Although some of the models still look very pretty at their age (am sure they use very good skin care), fine lines especially the eye areas still reveals (or what we described as “wisdom look”). Perhaps they should consider getting some botox injection or do someprevera review to see if anything can be done ;p

Gather information for Banci from door to door?

Few days back there was 2 ladies knocking on our gate, asking how many people are staying in this house and then full details from each of us. According to them they are doing take data for Banci Penduduk. Anyone encounter the same thing?

After spelling out hubby’s name for them, I feel something not very right and got scared. Why would they want so much information about us since they are not giving us the insurance quotes? Anyway I told them I shall not give them more info. If they want it, leave the form and come pick up tomorrow (so I can call up to the Jabatan if there is really such thing).

Well, I did not bother to call anyway, and surprisingly they did not turn up the next day to pick up the next day. I am wondering if these 2 ladies are genuinely working for the Jabatan. Scary hor….!!

Diet journey

04.07.10 / Chin Nee, Just info / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (4)

I think it has almost a month since I am on Herbalife diet. I hardly follow strictly as I find it hard to skip my meals. Although I am taking the meal replacement beverage (Herbalife Strawberry Shake), I still finds myself hungry and having to eat something an hour or 2 after taking the shake. Can’t even last for 4 hours, sigh…

If it is not for my thyroid problem, I will definitely not hesitate to take the diet pills that actually work instead of having to skip meals like this.

It’s much cooler now

It is another Sunday again. Hmm…should we rest at home or go out shopping today?

The kids always miss their proper meal whenever we are out. Either they are too excited until they do not have the appetite to eat well, or it’s us who do not eat our meals on time. Also, it is nice to stay at home during the day time as the weather is getting cooler and less dusty so we hardly on our dehumidifier now.

I hope this rainy weather is going to last longer, as we hate hot weather. How about you?

Cool hill trip

27.06.10 / Just info, Travels / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (0)

We are back from our annual Genting Trip again, and no where further. Where else can we go anyway, with our two “Terrible-Two” twin boys!

We stayed again at First World Hotel at the highest floor, 28th! Just imagine how scary it would be if there is a fire and we need to run down on our feet on staircase from the exit alarm!

This time the boys are bigger so they get to go on some rides. At least now, QQ dare to ride on the bumper car and the boys enjoyed being fetched by their sister. However we had to “borrow” another Jie-jie that’s available to fetch another one since they are too young to ride all by themselves.

It is not just fun but also very tiring physically and mentally stress for hubby and I as the boys refuse to eat their meal (especially Didi), or wanted to be carried when they are cranky. Now hubby finally understand why I do not want to travel any futher with the boys. Unless he is willing to put the boys and the maid with his sister or my mother, otherwise it would definitely by a BIG NO NO!!!

Buying anything online is possible, including buying clothes online now. I have been doing a lot online shopping for the kids over the years.

I am really tempted to for myself too, as I hate to go for clothing shopping with my kids. It is really difficult for me to try on the clothes, having the whole world (big and small waiting for me outside). And even if I get to try the clothes on, I would usually want hubby to check on it, where it is almost impossible for hubby to do that, having to handle 3 impatient and screaming kids out there.

With so many good choices of affordable clothing online, I can just browse the clothing from the comfort of my home where I do not need to walk from one shop to another to finding the right color, the right style for me. It is just so convenient and easy for a hands full mother like me!

I have been checking on sites like Irenelim Fashion and eyeing for something. *Psst….pssst* Do you know that this online store is actually giving away free dresses to bloggers who are doing a short review for them? Check it out on their announcement and let’s see if each of us can get the dress that we are eyeing for, ABSOLUTELY FREE!

With the price of landed homes going up so high now, we hope to be able to buy another house for our long term investment. We saw some houses in our area selling really cheap as compare to the market price but property like this are usually auctioned by the banks. But some said it is usually difficult for us to get a bargain during auction unless we hire the brokers from agency like Outer banks foreclosures to do it for us. Is that really true? Anyone bought a house from auction before?

I feel it already and they are just a few weeks into 2!

They are getting more difficult to handle as compare to when they are younger. I always thought so that handling the boys will be easier, as they grow older. But at this age, they get even more stubborn, more fierce, more persistant. Not only they fight among each other, they jump high and low too at our poor almost-broken modern sofas. Doesn’t that gives us heart attack when they landed somewhere hard instead of the cushioned part? Sigh….
