Tags: , , , ,

Believe or not, I have not been to any ikan bakar in Melaka before this although I have been growing up and staying in Melaka for more than 20 years. My mum was strict, so I can’t go out far with friends at night. So when I grow up, I almost forgotten about these places [...]

How scary is H1N1?

Situations seems to be uncontrollable everywhere. More and more people are infected with the scary disease and it spread even quicker than AIDS, which we once used to be so afraid of.
We are suppose to head back to my hometown for my cousin’s wedding, but with so many family members and relatives coming from [...]

First trip back home for the boys

Last Saturday we celebrated Kong-kong’s birthday while we were back in Melaka. Nothing much special for dinner, but just a cake (my favourite Mille Crepes) for the kids to blow candles (instead of their Kong-kong!).
It was the first time the boys were back in Melaka, after their birth. I was supposed to meet up with [...]

Chinese wooden clogs

On Sunday, my mum wanted me to go to a temple in Jonker Street (a very famous Melaka historical street). We then passed by a shops displaying full of the traditional Chinese Clogs, nicely crafted wooden-soled shoe. In the olden days, people love to wear this in their kitchen. I still remember wearing them whenever [...]

Wah, only 3 bucks??

One night in Melaka is definitely too short for us to enjoy our stay there. Most of the time, QQ rather to stay in PoPo’s (my mum) home instead of going out.

On Saturday night, after visiting my grandparents, we went to get one of our favourite supper (Melaka white Wan Tan Noodle). I was really [...]

Cook outside?

In my hometown, we live in a single storey house, fully extended to the back, so we only have an indoor kitchen. In order to avoid the house being oily, my mother hardly cooks. Even if she does, she will cook outside of the house where she has to set up the stove and gas [...]

De family moments in Melaka

I always try to go back to visit my family, in Melaka at least once a month. As my in-laws have passed away, QiQi only have my father and mother as Ah Kong and Po Po. Hubby loves to tease me by telling QiQi that mummy wants to go back Melaka for milk, haha…
