Does celebration really matters?

23.06.10 / Celebration, Chin Nee, Hubby / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (12)

Nothing done to celebrate our 7 years together yesterday. Not even a kiss or a hug. NOTHING!

I thought I could run a quick errand yesterday, picking up something special for dinner. QQ fell asleep the moment I announced that we are going out. Didi had a lousy day and was cranky all day long. I had to carry him (only in standing position) from 2pm onwards. I talked to my customer on phone with him yelling behind. My customer asked if she should call back, but Nah….no use as he won’t stop screaming too.

We did not go out in the end. And I had to just make do with whatever we have for dinner (only one dish for dinner, Ayam Pongteh) Good that I cooked one BIG POT (one whole chicken with 5 big potatoes). Each of us fell asleep as soon as our head touches the pillow. It was too tiring for us, having to manage 3 demanding children.

When I lied down on bed, I asked myself, does a celebration that really matters? When I looked at everyone who’s soundly asleep on bed, I told myself: “That I feel blessed and grateful to have my loved ones are in pink health and safe beside me on this special day. THAT’S ALL WE REALLY NEED and THAT”S ALL MATTER :)”

Today is our 7th Anniversary

Nothing planned, as I totally forgotten about it!

June is a very busy month for us. Hubby’s birthday is in June. Then we got married on the 22nd in June 7 years ago. And now, 7 years later, we are blessed with 3 kids who were born in June too.

This year, I decided to cut it down all celebration to smaller scale. QQ’s had a Princess Tea Party at home by inviting only a few girls. Hubby has some homemade cuppies on his 38th birthday with a simple homecook food. Just 2 days back (on Father’s Day), we organised a birthday luncheon for the boys (sill waiting for the pics from my brother so I can post about it).

I still have sometime before dinner. Let’s see what I prepare for dinner tonight. If it has not been from the sms wish from hubby, I think I would have totally forgotten about our special day already (really too tired with the kids)!

Happy 38th Birthday to dear Hubby

I thought I would have the mood to bake, at least once this month. Unfortunately not.

But since there are still space in the A4 edible images I did for QQ and the boy’s cake (remember I have the edible images printed online earlier?), I might as well print some cupcake images for hubby with this A4 template (you can either choose the templates available online or make your own template as long all images fits into one A4 size)

I use this template where it can fit 2 square 1kg cake and 6 (m size) cupcakes.

Instead of baking from scratch, I cheated and bought moist choc premix instead. Not only its much more cheaper (butter nowadays so expensive ya…) and easier (as I did not have to measure anything), the Nona Super Moist Chocolate Cake taste good too (at least its not too sweet!)

To keep baking work minimal, I even bought butter cream from http://sweettalkcuppies.blogspot.com/. Lazy hor, if it was not for the available edible images, I’ll go buy one cake instead!

Coincidently, SIL and family came over too, and stayed for dinner. See someone’s missing from the picture above? I’ll share with you what’s she is up to with her cousin with her new birthday present.

Boys and their yummy cuppies!

Happy Birthday, dear Hubby.

Wish you better health and wealth in the coming years and hope your dream will come true, very very soon!

High rate accident

Notice whenever we have big celebrations and holidays, road accidents rate tends to increase tremendously too. It is so scary to see innocent lives were lost in road accidents. Whenever hubby comes home late, I tend to worry about a lot. I don’t care if the car get smashed up badly, or if we need to spend money to hire a motorcycle accident lawyer, I am grateful as long as hubby comes home safely. I will just feel so relief the moment I hear his car engine in front of the house….*phiew*

Dinner at Yuzu, Garden

After reading so much about this nice Japanese restaurant at The Garden, we decided to visit Yuzu.  I planned to order the Kobe Beef for hubby to try since I wish to treat hubby on this expensive meal but to my surprise the slice beef is priced at Rm150 for only 100g , not Rm88 as I read from some blogs :(

Knowing that it will surely turn tasteless for hubby at such price, hence I picked Wagyu beef (read lots of good review on these beef cubes) but to my dismay they were out of stock too. We ended up with something more expensive than the Wagyu beefs (forgot what these longer cubes were named), but was again dissappointed that hubby said the beefs were tasteless. Probably is because that his set is expensive (I forgot what name but it is RM60), thus the beef became tasteless for him, hahaha!

I ordered this set (RM40 which contains sushi roll with Unagi, clear mushroom soup cooking on Washi paper, salad, cawan mushi and tiny slices of appertiser and fruits). For me, I feel it is pretty expensive.

QQ only had 2 sushi rolls since she love Unagi a lot. But there are lots of small bones, hubby has to pick them out until there is not much left for QQ.

Although the place is classy, it isn’t a good place for us to go as my boys were screaming (Kakak had to carry the crying and cranky korkor in and out of the restaurant) and almost run down the place. Poor diners who were there on that evening as they cannot have a peaceful dinner. Luckily Didi is willing to sit down towards the end of our dinner, munching the cucumbers from our salad and took some porridge with my cawanmushi.

Boy, what a tiring and stress dining for all of us.  Although I have been wanting to go to the Japanese Buffet at Umai-ya, I don’t think the boys can wait for our re-order food to arrive at our table.

Unless the restaurant has something to entertain my very very active boys like the above, otherwise there will be no way both hubby and I can dine in peace. Sigh….

It is Father’s Day. June is also his birthday. June is also our wedding anniversary.

I got nothing for him, not even a single cupcake. I only gave him 3 children, all born in June who make him a father, who force him to work harder and make him weak in heart (for worry over little matters here and there).

Nevertheless, he is a great hubby and a great father who has done his duty wonderfully.

Happy Belated Birthday, Happy Father’s Day and Happy Anniversary to you, my Love.

I must admit that we have not been adapting healthy eating at home. For instant, our cooking oil finish very fast and that shows how much oil we are consuming daily at home. Although I tried to introduce more western style cuisine such as salad in our meals, it is still difficult for QQ to chew the cold and raw lettuce. Luckily she loves the little tomatoes! The maid vomits again

11.01.09 / Hubby, maid / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (21)

This time is worst, she vomitted in the car without a plastic!!!!!

Initially when our maid arrived, she did vomit a few times, but not so bad. Then after quite sometime (about 6 months taking the anti-nausea pills each time we go out), her condition during car travel was quite fine. We even let her eat or snack in the car with us especially when we are travelling long distance.

Unfortunately not yesterday, not after her McD meal. She pukes all over herself and not even in time to reach for a plastic! (We suspect that she actually forgotten to eat the anti-nausea pills and told us lie). Thank God Kor-kor was asleep in his car seat beside her, otherwise I would not imagine how “geli” my poor baby would look like (as she usually carries him).

So, you can imagine how ANGRY my hubby was! Upon reaching Atria (where QQ is supposed to collect her new specs), we all went to a nearby shop and bought a cheapest T-shirt and pants, of course on her own expenses.

Instead of getting mad at her (I was surprise I wasn’t, and not even a bit), I really pity her. We learn our lesson and I guess, she did too! A really great loss for her. From now on, she would not be able to share and enjoy our fancy food when we dine out, but instead eating only plain food first at home (or pack herself some plain sandwich from home). Poor poor fella!

Christmas vs CNY

16.12.08 / Hubby, Parenting, QQ / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (13)

Like any other child, QQ loves the feeling of Christmas. Although we do not celebrate Christmas, I love the feel of this magical season (probably I watch too much cartoon when I was young that makes me want to believe the existance of Santa Claus coming into home thru the chimney!)

Seeing other home so nicely decorated with Christmas tree, QQ wants one too. But of course my ‘Cina-pek’ hubby would not want to spend on the accessories, whats more to store it after the celebration. Here is a conversation how hubby dampen QQ’s interest on Christmas.

QQ: Pa…I want to celebrate Christmas. Got Santa Clause!

Papa: CNY also got “Chai Shen Yeah” mah…(Choy San, the Money God)

QQ: Santa Claus give presents mah….

Papa: ” Chai Shen Yeah” gives $$$ wor….

How to deal with twins at malls

We were at MV shopping last Monday for our New Year clothings. With a big stroller, we now prefer to shop during weekdays hoping to avoid the crowd on weekends. The Christmas decor in MV is beautiful (but of course it did not turn out nice with my lousy camera).

Since it is troublesome to push the huge stroller while we run our errand, we left the boys alone with Por-por and the maid waiting while hubby quickly dashed into Carefour to get something. QQ and I were at the Post office to send a parcel.

While stood there waiting (mum did not expected a crowd would turned up in front of the twins), the babies were swamped by lots of aunties within minutes. Usually we would quickly push and walk, trying not to stop or exchange glances if possible. Otherwise strangers will start to talk to me (I am ok with this), while admiring the boys. Some even could not resist but touch them (oh no, this is what we are afraid of as QQ got HFMD in public just like that once !).

These are 2 questions frequently asked by the public:

1. Oh, are they twins? (obviously they are right? I think this is a way that person wants to start a conversation with me)

2. Are they boys or girls? (arr?? don’t tell me they look girlish?)

Poor Kor-kor started to cry when he saw so many faces while this cheeky Di-di continue to send “electricity” to all aunties! One even attempt to carry the crying kor-kor. Since it was the first time Por-por handle the twins in public, she became panic. Luckily hubby came out quickly to rescue the boys from being ‘molested’ by the aunties, haha!!

The Orange Team

30.04.08 / Hubby, QQ / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (9)

QQ was wearing her playgroup T-shirt by Sg.Long Buddhist Society while Papa had to wear orange (to replace red) for the Ops Alih Batu last Saturday. Read more about our important mission posted earlier HERE.

With a pair of sunglasses on each, Papa and his only girl look really funny!

I am suppose to get a new pair of sunglasses but due to the limited budget (after QQ done her expensive Chicken Little specs), we have no more allocation for mummy to look cool. I rather spend money on Parmigiani watches instead!

Uh-uh…our 08 Valentine’s Nite

How was your Valentine’s Day? Anything juicy and interesting to share?

I have got something, a new found place just in case any f you have not discovered this place.

My sweet little one surprise me with “Mummy & Daddy, I love you” when teacher put her into my car when I fetched her from school.

Then dear hubby emailed me suggested we going out for a simple dinner since this would be the last year before we are tied up with our new babies again. It has been so loooong since we had our Valentine’s dinner, thanks a lot, darling!!

Decided to try out this restaurant called “Lookout Point” on a romantic hill place I learned from my niece (u know la…places visited by the 20+ youngsters where car *rocks* by the roadside in the dark!!)

My…. it is really beautiful up there, I mean the KL scenery. So the western food is cheap. Worth visiting, really.

Location: Hulu Langat / Ampang
How to get there: Go google for the direction if you are coming from Ampang / MRR2.
From Kajang:
1. Exit after the 90sen toll at Cheras-Kajang highway.
2. After Telekom (on your left), turn right at traffic light and go straight.
3. When you reach a T-junction (police station on your left), turn right at traffic light.
4. Follow the dark winding kampung road till you see a junction (with a mosque on your left).
5. Turn in left and go up the hill (this winding road up hill is extremely dark!)
6. Catch the Lookout Point Arch on your right.

Story with hubby

Jasmine send me this tag, and I remember doing it sometime back, but weird, I just can’t find it. Anyway, just had a cold war with hubby during the past one week so it would be a good opportunity for me to pour out my inner voice and bitterness again.

Story starts like that:
Hubby was clearing leave, and at the same time I had to use the only car we have to drive QQ to school last week. As I couldn’t do much housework right now (climbing up to do the curtain, clearing the cabinets), I was thankful that he at least help me to do the spring cleaning.

However QQ was extremely clingy to him and that irritates him even more, having to handle QQ at the same time cleaning. At the same time, he also need to travel and buy some truck accessories for his brother. Me at the same time was sleeping most of the afternoons since I was having headache after waking up and accompany QQ to school the whole morning.

(no wonder most hubbies find it entertaining to stay away from home till late nite and ended up straying la….sigh…..)

I do appreciate his help but it would be better if he could:
1. Control his temper and understand more about how children behaves at home
2. Keep an eye close lor when at home sometimes…..
3. Be more sensitive to me since I am also suffering a lot right now (with wailing QQ and serious back pain)
4. Be more vocal (at least talk or discuss with me when unhappy)
5. And thats all I can think of right now….time to go fetch QQ

Happiness is all about FOOD

27.11.07 / Baking/Cooking, Family, Hubby, Kuantan / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (26)

A night before my MIL’s prayer, my eldest BIL prepared this for our dinner

A few hours before the prayer, we ate this for our breakfast

After the prayer to our ancestors, we ate THESE…..

I really feel thankful and blessed for the abundance of food that is served. This is what we usually have on our table when there is a celebration in Kuantan.

This is only a partial of the food I taken on my camera. There were so many dishes practically all over our table that we can hardly finish even in 3 days. 90% of the dishes were prepared by our 2nd SIL (they are rotating each time) this time. I really cannot imagine how she did everything just in one morning.

My hubby’s family has a habit of cooking too much food whenever there is a prayer or celebration. But with so much good food at one time, I can’t even get to taste all of them at one time.

But now I am back here, how I wish there is only one dish from the above, ONLY ONE, that would appear on my table right now.

Even though it is the year end monsoon, surprisingly there wasn’t much rainfall in Kuantan. In fact, it didn’t even rain while we stayed there for 4 days.

So QQ still managed to go the beach on Saturday afternoon, playing with the sea wave with her father. Mummy just sit there alone looking blankly out to the beach, not having a slight idea what to do nor any mood to play. My mood sucks, as I just don’t have any mood for anything these days, but thank goodness not worrying about any credit card or loan problem.

Since we stayed there for long, it was a very relaxing holiday back home, but *paiseh* a bit, all I contribute is eat and sleep while my SILs prepared everything at home :(

If you look at the food they prepared for my MIL’s prayer and also our daily meal on the next post, you will see how remorse thankful and how lucky I am, as a “daughter-in-law” in this family!
