Tags: Applied Kinesiology, food allergy, Food allergy testing chain, food testing using Applied Kinesiology, iron chain
Also known as Pendulums test for food allergies, metal reactions. Another insane post to many, probably.
Ever since my mum has got the very bad Shingles (or commonly called as Snake Blister) last year, she has been practising this method to test her allergy on food before she eats.

How to test:
- In a no fan/wind area, hold the iron chain above your food with one hand
- Rub the iron chain down with another hand to “energized” straightened it
- Place open up palm (of the person you wanna check his allergy) above food (do not touch)
- If the chain swirl clockwise, the person can take the food
- If the chain swirl anti clockwise, the person should not take that food
*Important: Must test on only the right amount of food you can take. For instant, if you test wanna test if you can drink a cup of coffee, test your palm on one cup and not ONE FULL BOTTLE OF coffee powder. Otherwise it will swirl anti clock wise because you should not take ONE BOTTLE of COFFEE POWDER. However with this testing method, u will still need some skill though (my mum can do better than me).

After I came back from seeing Dr Wong (found out I am allergy to 5 spice powder), I immediately did a test on a Pork Pau (that might contain 5 spice). True enough, it turns anti clockwise!
This morning I test it on Herbalife Tea that I have just started taking about 3 months back and again it is anti clockwise. Looks like I am going to miss out a lot of my favourite food (like Siu Yuk and my favourite Teochew Braised Duck)
Where to get the Food Allergy Testing Chain (Pendulum)
My mum said Allergy Food Testing Chain is available from any organic shop at Rm25. Otherwise a normal iron chain (with certain weight I think) like the one my mom bought can work too. Just try it at home on a food you have allergy to see if it is accurate.
Some reference of the same method I found online:

Tags: allergy, allergy test, Applied Kinesiology, Dr Wong Meng Kiang, mold allergy, mould, sensitive nose allergy, skin allergy
Since we planned to go back to Melaka last weekend to pray to Grandpa (his 100th day), I took the opportunity to down to Tangkak as well to test my skin allergy (have been getting extremely ITCHY little red bumps on my fingers like this..)

Picture downloaded from Google (http://www.skincell.org/community/index.php?topic=24808.msg307884)
Recommended by Elaine, I went to visit Dr Wong (Klinik Specialist Wong) at Tangkak to see how he can test what I am allergy to. Dr Wong does allergy test using the “Applied Kinesiology”.
What is Applied Kinesiology?
This procedure employs testing of muscle strength to assess food sensitivities. It is a way to tune in to the body’s energy system. A food that reacts in the body will generally cause a muscle to go weak. The test is performed either by having the person eat a food and then test the muscle, or they hold a suspected food in their hand, and the test is done. Kinesiology in the hands of a skilled practitioner can be very accurate, fast and inexpensive, bearing in mind that sensitivities can change over time.
(Source: http://www.drlwilson.com/articles/food_intolerance.htm)
How he test:
- Patient will hold test tub (of possible allergens) on HAND A while stretching out HAND B.
- To test on kid, the kid will have to hold the test tub, while parents hold on to the kid and doctor will test on parent’s resistance.
- Doctor Wong will lightly push down HAND B to check if we can resist. If can, meaning patient is allergy to that particular allergen.
- This repeat with many test tubs available there, to test other allergens as well.
- Once allergy is confirmed, he will perform again the same test to test the patient allergy level too
How to cure allergy:
Patient will be given a small bottle of pure saline (with energy transfered from the level allergen tested earlier). Patient have to take just a drop saline once in morning and once before sleep).
My Skin Allergy and QQ’s Nose Allergy
Guess what I am allergy to? It is the 5 spice powder (Em Heong Fun in cantonese). Can’t believe it!!
And seeing so, I had QQ tested as well as she has very bad sinus. And she is allergy to MOULD (and it’s the most difficult to avoid since it is air borne from damp area like bathroom, our aircon).

Can see the little bottle labeled “Clasp-11″? It is the Pure saline drop QQ has to take each morning and night. QQ’s allergy resistant towards Mould (Cladosporium) has been identified at level 11. <”0″ least allergy -”20″ very allergy>
After the saline was physically energized (WAH……pls do not ask me to explain how ok. I know the more I try to explain, I’ll sound more insane.), QQ was immediately given a drop of this saline on her tongue. And I see immediate result as I was able to resist Dr Wong’s push while holding on to QQ.
Putting my small itchy finger matter aside, I put high hope to cure QQ’s sensitive nose.

I have known Jackie (another SAHM since 2 years back) for some time but we had not had a chance to sit down and really chat. This morning she she baked these little puffs and and I went to her place for nice breakfast. The puffs taste really yummy and Jackie even let me “tapau the rest” back for my kids! Will surely try making this one day as they are very easy to make too (will put that in another post later, as this post is not about the puffs anyway).
Challenging days at home, being a SAHM
We chat about the kids (she has a pair of twins too, but the girls are already in their teen), we talked about education and school (where she shared how she got actively involved in PIBG, hoping to change fate of the kids in Chinese School but unfortunately its not like what she thought, how a mum actually went there daily to wash the toilet for the sake of her schooling kid, and how the pressure system grabbed away her girl’s cheerfulness and she eventually put them into Kebangsaan school instead). We also talked about the kids at home, and she shared about the twins character, how different they are, how they fight, and such. I see the similarity of characters in my twins behaviour in her grown up twins too so I can foresee how my future road will be with mykids.
Oh yes, we talked about hubby too, and I was so relief to hear that we share the same fate too (having the exactly same “species” hubby who are so homely and will not just leave their kids to have honeymoon with their wife, weird eh??)
Although very homely, our men is not willing to take charge or help with the kids while being at home, but will just sit aside to watch or sleep in front of the TV and be happy as long as all the children are in the same roof, with the wife taking charge like a mad woman, yelling madly behind chasing after the kids.
Well, hubby used to say that I’ll be able to go anywhere I want once the kids grown up, but according to Jackie, “Nah..very unlikely” because her girls are already in teens, and yet the husband still prefers the mother to be with the children all time. I think it’s because men like these hardly goes out with their friends, so they think socialize is not really needed and they prefer their women not leave their children behind either. Too bad they married the wrong women, as we are born WILD, frequently screaming deep inside despite being caged at home. LOL!!!
Funny that these men thinks that it is always ONE BIG HAPPY FAMILY as long as they are together ALL TIME!!! Anyone has hubby like that too out there?
Although it was just a short sharing over a cup of coffee, its feels really good to know that at least I am not alone, in this crazy part of the world, being so stuck at home with the kids, and having to stay so far away from friends. Thanks Jackie and thanks a lot to your YUMMY puffs too!

Tags: Add new tag, Sony interchangeable lens camera, Sony nex, Sony Nex-3, Sony NEx-5, Sony NEX5, Sony NEX5 camera

I have been waiting, and waiting for the longest time, and I am happy that my camera search is finally over. And I cannot believe that I finally got a Sony (which was totally out of my choice) among all brands of camera in the market.
After comparing and comparing between the smaller interchangeable lens camera available in the market, I am extremely happy that I got the Black Sony NEX5. Not only it is almost totally weightless (even with the kit lens), I love pictures as well (taken and posted on Facebook, here and here)
Selling Price at Sony Style: Rm2699
Best place to buy is Digital Mall where its only Rm2299 (without any freebies included). Since hubby did not wanna go there (he was so afraid that the tumbling down building will somehow tumble AGAIN??, we bargain for the price of Rm2499 (offered by Key Color Mid Valley which includes accessories) with Fotokem Sunway. Why Sunway? Because I have to get my little brother to check the camera for me:)
So, these are additional of what we managed to bargain for our Sony NEX5 Kit Lens
- 8GB Class 4 SD Card
- SteinZeiser tripod
- 3rd party camera bag (super cheap one, I think)
- 49mm lens filter (cheap one)
- screen protector
We were using this camera to take the pictures taken at I-City in my previous post with that filter but Edward said that the filter sucks. He tried again in the next morning without the filter and pictures taken are much better. So look like I got to spend money again, to buy a better filter for my lens ya..

Now I can’t wait to attend the Free Photography Courses during this weekends specially organised by SONY for all the new NEX users. Hope I’ll be able to operate and set the camera properly by myself soon. Can’t wait to test the camera and take more pics of my kids at home soon!

Since hubby was on leave last Friday to celebrate my birthday, I took the opportunity to go to KL to replenish my fabric again. After I got everything settled (kids woke up from nap crying finding Mummy missing inside car, hubby refuse to go in to the fabric shop, bill settled and transportation arranged), we went to 1Utama.
Initially I wanted to go to Italiannies (I haven’t been there until now as hubby dislike Italian), but the restaurant is no where to be found. I just found out that they actually moved into the Rain Forest?? *sob..sob*. Hence, we just quickly went the nearest, Chili’s instead as my stomach is growling loudly already.

It took a while for the food to arrive and the boys were already making lots of noise, wanting to come down from the chair. Although serving is huge, I think that there are too much fried things served in such restaurant. You see, even for chicken, they serve only the breast, and not soft tender part like thighs.

When my birthday ice-cream arrives, Korkor was already taken away outside by Kakak since he was already making lots of noise. Too bad he missed the “Happy Birthday Song” sang by the waitress for Mummy. Like usual, we just gobbled down our food as quick as possible, make payment and leave.

When we reached home, quite late at night, we have another candle blowing session. Don’t laugh ok, at my childish looking cake, hehe…coz when I saw this, I want this cake immediately as I thought my kids will love to see the beautiful balloons on it.
Birthday is just another day for me, nothing much special. Oh yes, I did not get to buy my own birthday present (Sony NEX5) that day, as package at 1Utama was not attractive. Will get it by this week from Mid Valley instead.

Well, my busy June (wedding anniversary, 3 kids and hubby’s birthday) is over. Finally I can have and “own” the whole July to myself, because I am the only one in the house born in JULY!!
Wanting July to be special, I held some Cloth Pads Promotion at Mama Patch on Facebook (check it out if you haven’t coz it will end on 23 July, yes, that my birthday).
Hubby also planned to take leave on that day and perhaps we can go out to celebrate. Since we are not going back to Melaka, I am now looking for any Special July Promotion that’s available out there, hoping that I can utilize them. Do let me know if you know of any July special that’s going on out there, OK (be it sales, free giveaway, special offer -especially on dinning, hehe…)

U won’t believe how lazy I am. It’s all just thought but no effort or action in slimming down the “proper way” (I mean exercise)
I can’t run sso jogging it totally out! Have been wanting to join back Yoga (can only make it at 8am before the boys are up), but it is so rushing every morning to get ready QQ, prepare her lunch box, and send her to school, always praying very hard that the boys will be wake up. So much of excuse for exercise, how to slim down?
Then I met an old friend who lost weight tremendously. She recommended me Amway products. No harm trying though, since it’s a Amway is a good product. I like the morning milk beverage, but I can’t stand the weird detox method (dilute lots of supplement with water and drink for 7 days each month). So I only took Positrim (morning beverage that’s suppose to replace breakfast). Weird though, I hardly shed any weight . It could probably due to my big appetite, as I still eat like a horse!
Then I moved onto Herbalife with another close friend. In Herbalife, we drink very yummy morning shake and herba tea throughout all day long. I love the shake very much (mixing with cereal and sometimes some low fat milk). It is suppose to last for 4 hours, but for me, I can’t stand after 2 hours, so still eat a bit. Not a bit weight shed though, after almost taking that for a month!
I gathered that the only problem I am having is that I can’t stop eating. I have overly good appetite. And now I am trying one of the latest diets that work, I hope.
Will share with you again, if it really works on me, ok. *pray for me plzzzzzzzzzzz!*

““Life is to short to be wasted like that”
In fact, that’s how exactly I feel too. I no longer create scenes of a “Yelling Mad Woman” at home anymore. Grown out of this habit, which I think is really unnecessary and very energy draining. But it just somehow makes me feel sad and unappreciated especially the sacrificed I made to stay at home with my kids, struggle and mentally torture every single minute listening to their cries and never ending fights.
I feel that sometimes SAH-Wifes are easily taken granted by their husbands. Thinking that the wife will be at home no matter what, since they are stuck at home with the kids. We do not have babysitters so we can walk out a while to cool down. We are so unlike the women who goes out to work, dressing up so nicely everyday , hang out with just anyone they like that could possibly make their husband dying of jealousy everyday. No wonder my grandparents, friends who were already SAHM, were so against the idea of me being a Full Time mother. Now it makes sense.
I just received a SMS declaring that the cold war was over, plus “some sweet note” ending the message, after ONE WHOLE FU*KING WEEK! Unfortunately it came too late and now it sounds very sour. How I wish that I can just walk out of the door at this moment and reward myself with some good FUN and get over with it. With my strong will character, I DEFINTELY WILL (still even more f*cking burning at this moment), once the kids are older and do not need me at home anymore (so don’t be surprise when you see Chin nee giving you a buzz for a tea out of sudden!) *wink*

I just braved myself to have my 3rd wisdom tooth extracted 2 hours ago moment ago (bleeding almost stop by now).
As a child of a school teacher, we have been going to government clinic including dentist since young. Although it has been all FOC, it was all along very horrible experience for me, not the mention the long wait at the government clinic.
The worst experience in my life with the trainee doctors was teeth extraction. I had 4 teeth extracted at age of 15, to make way for other teeth when I had braces. Not only the wound hurts badly, all the nearby tooth hurts too, as the doctors “shaken” the neighbour teeth each time extraction was done.
1st Bottom Wisdom Tooth (Surgery Cost: Rm5)
…when I was 24. Also done at a government hospital, the inexperience doctor took 1.5 hours to drill and get that tooth out. It was horrible and my mouth felt extremely sore as I had to open my mouth for that long! No more government clinic visit after that.
2nd Bottom Wisdom Tooth (Surgery Cost: RM950!)
Not wanting to trust any dentist anymore, believe or not, I actually went to one of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (who normally treat injuries and defects of the mouth and jaw) to have my 2nd wisdom tooth taken out. Reason of going there, was because a Maxillofacial Surgeon has the “lisence” to temporary “knock me out” while extraction was being done. Yes, one tooth extraction cost RM950 (and that the price of 5 years ago!) For a surgery like this, the patient must be accompanied by someone to fetch the drowsy patient back home.

3nd Top Wisdom Tooth (Extraction Cost: RM70)
Since my upper tooth wasn’t deep buried inside the gum like my previous 2 bottom wisdom tooth, today, I braved myself to visit to the same doctor who treated QQ in Balakong. I must say that he did a fantastic job. He was so good that he even sprayed and applied gel to numb my gum first before injection which I initially thought this process was only performed on little children (Remember I wrote that QQ so relaxed on her last visit?)
Within less than a minute, the whole wisdom tooth was taken out! Am looking forward to my last wisdom tooth extraction again next week!

I think it has almost a month since I am on Herbalife diet. I hardly follow strictly as I find it hard to skip my meals. Although I am taking the meal replacement beverage (Herbalife Strawberry Shake), I still finds myself hungry and having to eat something an hour or 2 after taking the shake. Can’t even last for 4 hours, sigh…
If it is not for my thyroid problem, I will definitely not hesitate to take the diet pills that actually work instead of having to skip meals like this.

Nothing done to celebrate our 7 years together yesterday. Not even a kiss or a hug. NOTHING!
I thought I could run a quick errand yesterday, picking up something special for dinner. QQ fell asleep the moment I announced that we are going out. Didi had a lousy day and was cranky all day long. I had to carry him (only in standing position) from 2pm onwards. I talked to my customer on phone with him yelling behind. My customer asked if she should call back, but Nah….no use as he won’t stop screaming too.
We did not go out in the end. And I had to just make do with whatever we have for dinner (only one dish for dinner, Ayam Pongteh) Good that I cooked one BIG POT (one whole chicken with 5 big potatoes). Each of us fell asleep as soon as our head touches the pillow. It was too tiring for us, having to manage 3 demanding children.
When I lied down on bed, I asked myself, does a celebration that really matters? When I looked at everyone who’s soundly asleep on bed, I told myself: “That I feel blessed and grateful to have my loved ones are in pink health and safe beside me on this special day. THAT’S ALL WE REALLY NEED and THAT”S ALL MATTER :)”

I can’t believe weaning can be this difficult for the boys. For the past one month, I though the boys were disturbed by the wandering spirit, but it has lasted so long and I suspect it could be related to weaning too. Although the boys are no longer attached to me during the day, but I still feed them at night since I thought they might not remember it especially when they are half awake. However now they wake up more and more frequently, until they start pulling up my shirt again during daytime (I guess they remember what they enjoyed during the night).
Hence, that force me to stop breastfeeding altogether, even during night. It has been 2 nights since I refuse them and we had hell for these past 2 nights. I did not manage to sleep the whole wee morning as both of them took turn to wake up, one by one, pulling my dress. It was really hard to put them back to sleep, without the breasts
Last night was a bit better. At least they were just fussing around, stayed awake watching the ceiling, and did not cry. I hope tonight will be better. I will surely miss them a lot!

Finally on Saturday 3pm, 5/6/2010

- Food : Curry chicken, fried mee hoon, Hokkien Popiah, Cheesy cocktails, Fishballs, Fried Tauhu, Red Eggs
- Dessert: Tab-Tim-Krob (the biggest hit. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of the dish!)
As if knowing that there would be a party in that afternoon, the boys napped less than an hour. Both of them woke up while we were half way done in the kitchen. And worse part of all, they were extremely cranky due to less sleep, so I had to carry one on my hand all time...GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

See me behind carrying Korkor and being kepit by Didi ? I did not manage to participate much in the kids activities or take better pictures during the party

While waiting for all to arrive, the girls did some simple coloring first. Then they proceed to do the first craft, their own princess crown. Since everything was prepared earlier (see materials needed), steps are pretty simple as we have everything pre-cut for the girls, thanks to help to the Mummies (as I did not manage to get them all done upfront due to the last minute printing).

Since it is still early and I guess everyone just had lunch, we proceed to make the Crystal Princess Bracelets (info of the materials needed and where I got them). Initially I thought it would be difficult for the little girls to do the beads arrangement and threading, but I was surprised that each girls manage to thread on their own. Bravo PRINCESSES!

Audrey, QQ and Iris showing off their handmade PRINCESS Crystal Bracelets

7 princesses (plus 2 body guards) waiting to sing the birthday song. Just realized that we forgot to take a family picture with QQ!

QQ’s birthday cake - A 1kg Strawberry Shortcake (from a nearby baker) with my own customized Diamond Castle Edible Image (refer to this post on how you can have your favourite edible image for your cake delivered to your doorstep)

After the cake cutting, the girls proceed to play some games on their own. I like having the girls around. It is really fun seeing the girls behaving nicely instead of jumping here and there like the boys do. At about 5pm, the guests are getting ready to leave. So they requested QQ to open up the presents.

We also packed some small gifts for lucky draw so everyone gets a party pack home.
After the party, we still have so much leftover on the food so I got to call another 2 friends and their family to come over for a simple dinner that night to help us finish off the food

QQ with her presents. Although it was a very small party at home (as planned and friends invited exactly to her wish), it was really a very tiring but fun day for QQ.

I have always been very afraid of looking at places with funeral, scared of the coffin, you know, “pantang” what people used to say, that you should not look at funeral when you pass by funeral parlour and things like that.
But when it comes to the funeral of a person we love so dearly, I don’t feel any of such anymore. I go near to my Grandpa’s coffin, bring my children with me to look several times at him, and I love being there at the funeral parlour to accompany my Grandpa.
Some pictures taken during my grandpa’s funeral. I wish to have everything here, capture in my memory, forever.

The wake was held for 5 days, 4 nights at an old funeral parlour in Bukit Cina. Everyone gathered (sadly and with much regret that this only happened during the funeral)

Too young to understand anything, young kids were having a good time to play around the fire

Although it was gloomy and not very hot in Melaka during the funeral week, somehow the weather was extremely stuffy until some kids fell sick

Our last picture with Grandpa. Sigh…we do not even took one when he was still alive!

A pair of red Candles for Grandpa on the altar

Last prayer for Grandpa, lead by the monk

Although there is four generations in Goh’s family, but still with only 3 sons, Grandpa still have a very small family ya… (am now hoping that my 3 kids will bear a lot grandchildren for me, otherwise I’ll have a small family too, during my funeral)

Procession (leaving the funeral parlour at Bukit Cina)

At the Melaka Memorial Park Crematorium Centre, where Grandpa was safely cremated.
I wish there were more, but my brother wasn’t in mood to capture them, especially during prayers at the Cremation center and Temple where Grandpa was placed. And lastly but not least, I found this in my computer….

A picture of me with my Grandparents (probably when I was only 2), and Grandpa was only around age 55 in that picture.
I still miss him a lot :”(

I tried several methods to wean the boys.

First Attempt: Applying the super bitter snake leaves juice. Not enough bitter once they get overly desperate. Failed!
Second Attempt: Apply some white vinegar on my teats. Didi is super smart so he suck until the vinegar is gone. Failed!
Recently the boys appetite get really worse and Didi is as thin as “LIDI” now. Both of them no longer eat porridge and do not want rice either. Nor they have any other milk except for suck…SUCK…SUCK… at this milk-less cow all day long! And because of this, I get real S.T.R.E.S.S and very very desperate wanting to wean them off.
Third Attempt……
Hence I tried another method, recommended by Irene (also a mom to a pair of twin boys), that is to use Nipple plaster (you can get this from Triumph/Wacoal - very pricey adhesive to invert and stick nipple into breast so you can go bra-less without having your perky nipples shown when you wear bare-backs.
Result: It works ! The boys hate the sight of it (they feel really geli!!) as I told them the doctor had to plaster mummy’s nen-nen coz it’s hurt. So each time they come near, snuggling at my chest, I will show them and they run away. I only had to plaster myself first 3 days and now they have totally forgotten about their addiction.
So do you think I still breastfeed them?
Oh, yes, I still do. I miss them a lot. In order not to let them know, I only feed them in the middle of the night after they fall asleep (must only do when they are in unconscious state). Didi still wakes up (drowsy state) once or twice to nurse. Last night, Korkor managed to slept from night till morning without any feeding. I hope they stop waking up in the middle of the night soon, so all of us could have a better sleep, FINALLY!!!!!!!
