Since hubby was on leave last Friday to celebrate my birthday, I took the opportunity to go to KL to replenish my fabric again. After I got everything settled (kids woke up from nap crying finding Mummy missing inside car, hubby refuse to go in to the fabric shop, bill settled and transportation arranged), we went to 1Utama.
Initially I wanted to go to Italiannies (I haven’t been there until now as hubby dislike Italian), but the restaurant is no where to be found. I just found out that they actually moved into the Rain Forest?? *sob..sob*. Hence, we just quickly went the nearest, Chili’s instead as my stomach is growling loudly already.

It took a while for the food to arrive and the boys were already making lots of noise, wanting to come down from the chair. Although serving is huge, I think that there are too much fried things served in such restaurant. You see, even for chicken, they serve only the breast, and not soft tender part like thighs.

When my birthday ice-cream arrives, Korkor was already taken away outside by Kakak since he was already making lots of noise. Too bad he missed the “Happy Birthday Song” sang by the waitress for Mummy. Like usual, we just gobbled down our food as quick as possible, make payment and leave.

When we reached home, quite late at night, we have another candle blowing session. Don’t laugh ok, at my childish looking cake, hehe…coz when I saw this, I want this cake immediately as I thought my kids will love to see the beautiful balloons on it.
Birthday is just another day for me, nothing much special. Oh yes, I did not get to buy my own birthday present (Sony NEX5) that day, as package at 1Utama was not attractive. Will get it by this week from Mid Valley instead.

It was the boys’ actual birthday yesterday (29/6/2010). Time flies and now my twin boys are officially 2 now.I grabbed a Pandan Layer Cake over the counter from Kings in the morning before headed to our playgroup. Nice of them to accommodate me a piece of chocolate so I could place the boy’s TRAIN on top of the cake. I even reused their H.A.P.P.Y. B.I.R.T.H.D.A.Y. candle, LOL!!
They had a mini blowing cake session at their playgroup where the church member, Annie helped me to get some Curry Chicken to go with our regular morning snack, Fried Mee Hoon.
Way back in April, I actually planned a Mega Beach Party and I even booked the Mc Donald Wooden Hut on Teluk Cempedak Kuantan Beach. June will be a great timing as it was a school holiday so my blogging kakis who always invite us to their kids beautiful birthday party can plan their family vacation to this beautiful beach too (in fact, some bloggers were already informed!)
But when Grandpa passed away, and then kids starting to get sick until QQ got an episode of breathing difficulty, boys continuous night cry perhaps being frightened during the funeral and hell we went through during bm weaning, hubby and I were so stressed until we lost our mood for anything ahead.
It was recently when the boys were back to themselves after some prayers done and TOTALLY WEANED TOO!, I started to make ad hoc plans again for QQ’s Princess Tea Party and then a last minute Family Birthday Lunch for the boys. And guess what, Mc Donald at Kuantan Beach even called me up to reconfirm and I have totally forgot my reservation!!

Anyway, we got them a simple wooden set of Thomas and Trains plus some additional train for their birthday (will do a good review on this set later). Too bad its too expensive, so they had to end up fighting constantly over the limited tracks and the 2 similar trains (well, they fight anyway!), *shake head*.

Plus, they also got lots of presents from family and friends during their birthday. Shiok heh!
Sorry, boys, Mummy has to keep away most of them away and bringing only one out per time since you fight on things on another’s hand anyway, with or without other toys.

I said I do not wanna do any celebration for the boys. Initially it was just a lunch for ourselves plus hubby’s family members at Fullhouse Cafe (funny to get everyone travel all the way from Kajang to Sunway to this cafe for the sake of photography). Then hubby said, why not invite more. Ok, just a few more, I said although I must admit that preparing the birthday for kids is really fun and enjoyable where QQ and I did lots of crafty work on it (..u know, she was so excited that she could not sleep whenever there is craft not done for the big day)

Since I had prepared and get the cake’s edible image printed online earlier (luckily the icing sheet belum melt since I got that printed for QQ’s Princess Image since last month), I thought, O-kay, we still have a presentable cake. So we got the kids frequent playmates from our neighbourhood to join along (to keep invitation to the minimal, I had to exclude some whom already invited to QQ’s Princess Tea Party).

Thomas Lunch Set Menu selected and printed for the day

An A3 Birthday Announcement Display
Initially I wanted a PVC banner (its so common nowadays) so I can keep it for the boys in their Time Capsule. But I found that banner printing is expensive and also required at least a week of printing. Therefore I got this done on a A3 size art card instead (cheap but fantastic quality printing- details below)

Simple Thomas Bento Sets we served to the kids (which comprise of macaroni, nuggets, boiled fishballs and sausages in 2 foil cuppies)
Thomas Picture Cards for the head of the train was printed earlier and squeezed in earlier into A3 size when I had to print QQ’s Princess Crown. Very cost saving eh? And then while I was scratching head on how to make a presentable box for the train (also you can see full instruction I found online here), coincident my brother came a few days earlier to my place to stay so he could help me out, so are the pictures of the day, thanks Edward.
All the A3 size quality printing on 260gsm thick Art card (only Rm3.50 /pc) was done at very minimal cost and printed instantly (at 10Q Solutions Sdn Bhd, No. 6, Persiaran Puteri 1, Bandar Puteri Puchong, Tel : 03-8060 0110)

The boys got sleepy and cranky by the time for candle blowing. Didi no longer have mood for anything.

Strawberry Fruit Cake we got from Bread Talk Sunway Pyramid
I ordered a cake with a plain top in the middle so I could place the edible image ( we even had the trains and wafer biscuits standby in case the image can’t be squeezed into the cake!)

More pictures on the Facebook album here
I am still waiting for all our nice pictures from my super busy brother to load them. Nevertheless, thanks to him for helping me out on this ad hoc birthday preparation and the upload on some pics last night despite his never ending homework rush. Also thanks to all our friends to travel all the way to Sunway to attend this luncheon with us. Thanks for all the great presents.
P/s: We had to celebrate the boys birthday 2 weeks earlier as we will be attending hub’s company event this weekend.

Nothing done to celebrate our 7 years together yesterday. Not even a kiss or a hug. NOTHING!
I thought I could run a quick errand yesterday, picking up something special for dinner. QQ fell asleep the moment I announced that we are going out. Didi had a lousy day and was cranky all day long. I had to carry him (only in standing position) from 2pm onwards. I talked to my customer on phone with him yelling behind. My customer asked if she should call back, but Nah….no use as he won’t stop screaming too.
We did not go out in the end. And I had to just make do with whatever we have for dinner (only one dish for dinner, Ayam Pongteh) Good that I cooked one BIG POT (one whole chicken with 5 big potatoes). Each of us fell asleep as soon as our head touches the pillow. It was too tiring for us, having to manage 3 demanding children.
When I lied down on bed, I asked myself, does a celebration that really matters? When I looked at everyone who’s soundly asleep on bed, I told myself: “That I feel blessed and grateful to have my loved ones are in pink health and safe beside me on this special day. THAT’S ALL WE REALLY NEED and THAT”S ALL MATTER :)”

Nothing planned, as I totally forgotten about it!
June is a very busy month for us. Hubby’s birthday is in June. Then we got married on the 22nd in June 7 years ago. And now, 7 years later, we are blessed with 3 kids who were born in June too.
This year, I decided to cut it down all celebration to smaller scale. QQ’s had a Princess Tea Party at home by inviting only a few girls. Hubby has some homemade cuppies on his 38th birthday with a simple homecook food. Just 2 days back (on Father’s Day), we organised a birthday luncheon for the boys (sill waiting for the pics from my brother so I can post about it).
I still have sometime before dinner. Let’s see what I prepare for dinner tonight. If it has not been from the sms wish from hubby, I think I would have totally forgotten about our special day already (really too tired with the kids)!

I thought I would have the mood to bake, at least once this month. Unfortunately not.
But since there are still space in the A4 edible images I did for QQ and the boy’s cake (remember I have the edible images printed online earlier?), I might as well print some cupcake images for hubby with this A4 template (you can either choose the templates available online or make your own template as long all images fits into one A4 size)

I use this template where it can fit 2 square 1kg cake and 6 (m size) cupcakes.

Instead of baking from scratch, I cheated and bought moist choc premix instead. Not only its much more cheaper (butter nowadays so expensive ya…) and easier (as I did not have to measure anything), the Nona Super Moist Chocolate Cake taste good too (at least its not too sweet!)

To keep baking work minimal, I even bought butter cream from http://sweettalkcuppies.blogspot.com/. Lazy hor, if it was not for the available edible images, I’ll go buy one cake instead!

Coincidently, SIL and family came over too, and stayed for dinner. See someone’s missing from the picture above? I’ll share with you what’s she is up to with her cousin with her new birthday present.

Boys and their yummy cuppies!
Happy Birthday, dear Hubby.
Wish you better health and wealth in the coming years and hope your dream will come true, very very soon!

June is a fun month for us. It is either a birthday celebration at home, or fun time out for everyone.
During the first week of the school holiday, my neighbourhood friends and I enrolled our preschoolers into a holiday program, at a nearby preschool. Unlike previous sessions done, they have lots of outing this time. On the first day, the teachers brought them to a Fruit Farm. On the 5th day, they organised a picnic and all parents are invited to join along.
Hence, hubby took leave, so we could bring the boys along.

We reached there at about 9.30am. Surprisingly the whole place were so shady. We were so amazed with the fantastic playground there, seriously! There are so many sections and the playground is really HUGE. If you have kids age 5 and above, it is really worth visiting to this park as the climb up and down playground is even BIGGER than any of those in 1Utama or Mid Valley Megakidz!
Also, there are a few suspension bridges and a good cycling track. Best part of it, everything is situated just at the entrance so you can actually leave everything in your car and fetch it only when you need it.

Boys on simple tunnel slide

Korkor’s hand looks tired from holding the food! This park is really a great picnic place as there are many seats and table around. I would say amenities here is the best as compare to many parks in Klang Valley. Even their public toilet (20sen per entry) is clean and nice.

QQ with her friend, Audrey. QQ was incredibly timid as she dare not climb up anywhere

With their father around, they were either confined to the seat or being held closely (too many red ants la….too dangerous la…bla..bla…bla…). Besides simple swing and see-saw which is suitable for little kids their age, they can only an sit there to watch people play instead of wandering around (too dangerous as the playground is too huge).
We went off early and proceed to Mid Valley as I wanted to check out the Thomas Wooden Railway series at Choo Choo Train, The Garden. It was an extremely tiring day, but fun for everyone.
p/s: Check out what I finally got for the boys for their coming birthday soon….Also, posting soon, where QQ got her birthday present real LATE and she’s REAL MAD too…

It’s the birthday month for everyone. QQ’s birthday was over a week ago and the boys’ are coming soon, end of this month. While I was spending time checking out the Thomas and Friends Wooden Series, QQ got really furious and steaming mad because we had not got her the YoYo cart we promised. Hence, yesterday night, we bought one purple YoYo cart for her immediately after I made an online payment for our first Thomas Wooden Playset. Boy, that was a lot hard earned money spent in a night, on TOYS, sigh
On second thought, I think I should be better to get them some insurance before the term life insurance rates increase again.

Finally on Saturday 3pm, 5/6/2010

- Food : Curry chicken, fried mee hoon, Hokkien Popiah, Cheesy cocktails, Fishballs, Fried Tauhu, Red Eggs
- Dessert: Tab-Tim-Krob (the biggest hit. Too bad I forgot to take a picture of the dish!)
As if knowing that there would be a party in that afternoon, the boys napped less than an hour. Both of them woke up while we were half way done in the kitchen. And worse part of all, they were extremely cranky due to less sleep, so I had to carry one on my hand all time...GRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

See me behind carrying Korkor and being kepit by Didi ? I did not manage to participate much in the kids activities or take better pictures during the party

While waiting for all to arrive, the girls did some simple coloring first. Then they proceed to do the first craft, their own princess crown. Since everything was prepared earlier (see materials needed), steps are pretty simple as we have everything pre-cut for the girls, thanks to help to the Mummies (as I did not manage to get them all done upfront due to the last minute printing).

Since it is still early and I guess everyone just had lunch, we proceed to make the Crystal Princess Bracelets (info of the materials needed and where I got them). Initially I thought it would be difficult for the little girls to do the beads arrangement and threading, but I was surprised that each girls manage to thread on their own. Bravo PRINCESSES!

Audrey, QQ and Iris showing off their handmade PRINCESS Crystal Bracelets

7 princesses (plus 2 body guards) waiting to sing the birthday song. Just realized that we forgot to take a family picture with QQ!

QQ’s birthday cake - A 1kg Strawberry Shortcake (from a nearby baker) with my own customized Diamond Castle Edible Image (refer to this post on how you can have your favourite edible image for your cake delivered to your doorstep)

After the cake cutting, the girls proceed to play some games on their own. I like having the girls around. It is really fun seeing the girls behaving nicely instead of jumping here and there like the boys do. At about 5pm, the guests are getting ready to leave. So they requested QQ to open up the presents.

We also packed some small gifts for lucky draw so everyone gets a party pack home.
After the party, we still have so much leftover on the food so I got to call another 2 friends and their family to come over for a simple dinner that night to help us finish off the food

QQ with her presents. Although it was a very small party at home (as planned and friends invited exactly to her wish), it was really a very tiring but fun day for QQ.

Preparation

Beading Materials ( from beading.com.my)
- Crystal alphabet cubes (4mm)
- Crystal round / opague beads (5mm)
- 0.7mm elastic cord
I did a mistake by getting 3mm crystal beads and it was too small for the kids (average age 5-6) to thread. I then went to pasar pagi to get 2 more bracelets (bigger dimension, I think about 5mm) for the craft. There are so many ways to arrange and thread the beads, I find that making bracelets for the kids are really fun.

Customized Princess Crown
Theme of the Princess is Diamond Castle. I downloaded the picture from Google online, and using photoshop, I blended them into a crown for the princess. QQ wants something different from the rest of her friends, so she get a special PINK Crown with customised name (see top left). I then have it digital printed on a 260gsm Artcard (Rm3.50) .
For band, I used FOAM Sheet (idea from Jo-N). Simple and pretty eh?

Thank You Stickers
Found this idea online. Instead of downloading pictures online again, I decided to to a simple sketch of a pink crown. Arrange many on an A4 size, I got some A4 white stickers from the stationery shop (Rm60 /pc) to print them out. Idea: you can either just use your home color printer or send them for digital printing (better quality, Rm3.50 /A4 size)

Last but not least, the choice of Princess Birthday Cake. This time I offered her a Barbie Princess cake. But instead, she opt for a simple cake (and I am lucky to find a home baker that prints edible image http://www.edibleprint.com.my/gallery/). I have also listed many online bakers who do edible image here )
Since everyone’s birthday is in June and a piece of A4 size edible print is Rm18, I might as well print more, for the hubby’s cupcake ( I tend to bake some for him next week) and boy’s birthday cake (end of this month). An A4 size, I can do 2 edible prints for 1kg cake and 6 cupcakes (you can check out the templates for picture arrangement on their website.
More on the party on the next post….

Although I only prepared very little food for the girls and their mothers yesterday, we still left with so much food after the Tea Party. I can’t really eat much since I just suppress appetite with some supplement. Perhaps timing is a little bit wrong there, since some just had their lunch, or some is keeping their stomach for dinner back at home that evening. Luckily some friends manage to come over to help me finish some of the food, otherwise we will have to eat for days.

Love immediately grows, the day you were born
Although miniature, you are just so perfectly
You stop crying upon hearing your name

Birth was over easy, but we almost loose you
God gave you strength so you carry on

Discharged a week later, you became the queen at home
With so much blessing, you filled our home with laughter

Today you are with us, celebrating again your birth
We wish you healthiness, happiness and love

Happy 6th Birthday, to our Precious QQ

It has been almost 3 months since my boys attending the playgroup. Run by a church organisation nearby our place, not only the boys are looking forward to attend their play every week, even Mummy is looking forward eagerly to bring them there.
This week, we have a party since the school holiday is just around the corner. Some pictures to share here:

Circle Time - its really fun as the organiser is really creative in capturing the kids attention

Snack time - meal is provided for the kids and mummies too. For today, potluck was held where we are blessed with many nice and rich food. How not to gain weight like that? (shall be needing to borrow my friend’s spa cover again after this)

Barney Jelly cake brought by Aunty Shiryne. See how anxious the kids are, sitting surrounding the big Barney Jelly.
Overall it was fun. Can’t wait for our playgroup to resume again, after the school holiday!

It is just 3 days away QQ’s princess party and I am all getting excited for her birthday party preparation. Not that there will be a big celebration since only 5 girls from the neighbourhood is attending. Food is simple, as I only need to prepare some finger food for Princess Tea Party. Its the craft part that I am looking forward to, and these are what I have prepared and planned for the day:
- Princess Crown making
- Coloring contest
- Beading
- Bento decor (depending on their mood then if they still want this)
As if I am making them work so hard before their food, right? Hahaha…I hope they will have fun with the program planned. Although food is minimal since there is only 6 girls involved, but the materials used above can be costly too. How nice if I am attached to the affiliate programs and afford to organise sessions like this frequently for the kids.
I shall share the pics and website where I got all the materials once I received them later). Check it out ya….

It has been some scary weeks, with one by one kids having fever at home. It first started with Korkor, then it goes to QQ.
Not ordinary fever this round, but it went up as high as 39-41C, and nothing could make it come down. Paracetamol fails, stronger Nurofen fails, suppository fails, and even sponging fails. With Korkor I was dead worried since nothing brought the fever down. But it goes off by itself on the 3rd morning, when I was about to bring him back to the paed for 2nd diagnose.

The heat then went to QQ and it went up as high as 41C for almost 3 days too. Since nothing brings the fever down, I stop giving her suppository after about 5 continuous doses and instead just relying on light paracetamol, and frequent sponging and day and evening shower.

Thank God they are all fine now (QQ fully recovered yesterday). Now I am looking forward to their mini birthday celebrations in June.
Coming up:
First Saturday (5 June 2010): QQ will be holding a simple Princess Tea Party for just 5 girls of her choice
Last Saturday (26 June 2010): Party for boys? Hmm….don’t feel like doing it. Perhaps only some red eggs for them?
