I can’t believe weaning can be this difficult for the boys. For the past one month, I though the boys were disturbed by the wandering spirit, but it has lasted so long and I suspect it could be related to weaning too. Although the boys are no longer attached to me during the day, but I still feed them at night since I thought they might not remember it especially when they are half awake. However now they wake up more and more frequently, until they start pulling up my shirt again during daytime (I guess they remember what they enjoyed during the night).
Hence, that force me to stop breastfeeding altogether, even during night. It has been 2 nights since I refuse them and we had hell for these past 2 nights. I did not manage to sleep the whole wee morning as both of them took turn to wake up, one by one, pulling my dress. It was really hard to put them back to sleep, without the breasts
Last night was a bit better. At least they were just fussing around, stayed awake watching the ceiling, and did not cry. I hope tonight will be better. I will surely miss them a lot!

So bored no pictures to see on this blog for quite sometime already right?
Wait till I get my turn to use my brother’s new dslr, Nikon D90, then you will be able to see more presentable pics here. Meanwhile, bear with these….

Didi and Korkor at 20 months..
Thank goodness, they look “better” now after one whole month of being sick. Now my maid and I are working very hard to stuff them with more food and they are almost eating round the clock (either main meal, or healthy bites).
Continue from previous post, Frequently snap by JAWS
I gave up feeding them formula and now I am in the process of weaning them off breastmilk. And guess what method I use? White Vinegar!! YUcky idea right?? Better than pounding tumeric which leaves stain, applying cruel cilli, ginger right?
Initially my maid suggested using the bittergourd juice, but it does not work on strong-will Didi. Since we do not have any nice edible cider vinegar at home, I resort to white vinegar we use for washing, wahahaha!! Not poisonous la, since they are made of rice right?

Effect on Korkor
First I applied some on my teats and effect was great on Korkor. He ran amok running around scratching his tongue and I could not stop laughing at him. He remembered the effect so well that he stayed away from latching on to me for 2 days. It was the most horrible days in his life, I think, as he could not fall asleep each time he is very sleepy. He got so cranky that he want me to hug him tight all the time. In the end, I gave in, and have to reassure him that nen-nen is clean again since he and didi fight over me so much, each wanting only to be held by mummy, not wanting Mummy to hug another party. So now, Korkor is back to the breast but I no longer allows him to treat me as a pacify. Once times
up, I’ll tell him nen-nen is going to be smelly again once Mummy in pain and he sometimes just goes off. If it does not work at times, I”ll dip my finger in vinegar and put it near to his nose. This usually makes him release me immediately!
Effect on Didi
Unlike Korkor, this child is too smart to be cheated. When I first put on vinegar, he will continue to suck and suck until it goes back to normal taste, pretty smart eh? Since it is harder to wean him, I thought of weaning Korkor first and Didi later. But Korkor just can’t stand seeing Didi getting the breast and again, lots of struggle begins. So in the end, both still gets the breast. For times up, instead of putting near my vinegar-dipped finger near to his nose, I have to poke my finger into his mouth so he gets a stronger taste of the vinegar to release me.

YuM SeNg!! Love only drinking plain water from bottle and not milk
As of today
After a week of practising the vinegar thing, they now automatically release me (most of the time) whenever I tell them to stop sucking Mummy before it turns sour again. Hopefully this method will continue to work (before they turn any smarter) and they wean automatically soon (although I still very much enjoying their closeness and feel very em-seh-tak, sigh…)

It is scary to breastfeed babies with full set of teeth (molars and canines), especially when accidentally snap on your teat once they fell asleep attached to you!
And I am lucky to stuck with 2 JAWS! *CRY*
Not only I have to endure the risk of being accidentally snapped (btw, they are really good boys and dis not bit me during teething), their weight on my poor shoulders when they sleep on me at night are unbearable too. Ok, I know I am much, MUCH more heavier than the boys, but it is so difficult to sleep and they really makes me loosing good sleep at night.
You probably think it is easy to remove my poor tender flesh away from these jaws? Unfortunately not so. Many times when they found their “soft teat” missing from their mouth, they will wake up and go on top of me again and this repeat again and again for so many times in a night until all us of could not sleep well.
Hence I decided to wean them (you would have known if you read my funny weaning process with these boys in http://www.facebook.com/chinneeq). Really don’t know whether to cry or laugh!! Will update more here when I have time again.

For you all who wonder how it is like to breastfeed twins……

*Jerng…jerng..jerng…*
See how easy it is to breastfeed older twin toddlers, (provided they do not fight/pull hair/poke eyes, poke ears). When they are fine with each other, they like to giggle, laugh (while teeth lightly bitting on my nipples), play hide and seek with eyes close, aiyo…anything you can think of la….(imagine how badly my assets here are being played, fondled and tortured by these 2 gentlemen here)
At night, instead of turning to the left or right to the boys, I teach them to crawl on top of me instead so both can suckle at the same time. Sometimes when they are sleepy or drowsy, I just need to pull their head/neck with one arm (hope I don’t break their neck since they are not insured by North Carolina health insurance) while holding on the other.
Although they fight a lot now, they are certainly more cute and fun to play with at this stage. I do enjoy them better now as compare to their first year (which was really a nightmare for us!)

It is really torturing when we mothers are running out of milk, and the baby (for my case, babies) are still sticking to me like crazy. I tried taking raw fenugreek, but guess what, the good effect of engorgement only lasted for 3 days. Later my body went back to it’s normal lazy self and does not produce much anymore.
My boys ended up sticking to me all time like superglue, keep on wanting to suckle. Recently even Korkor rejected all kinds of formula. Yes, they are having their 3rd and 4th molar coming out on top. Pretty quick for 16 months right?
Although it can be frustrating torturing my breasts breastfeeding my 16 month old boys, I do enjoy funny moments with them too. Each time they want to be nursed, they will even call me “duduk-duduk” at the low sofa, so both of them can stand in front of me reaching their “milking pipe”.
Not only that, my boys can also be very choosy sometimes. As if able to see how much milk it contains, they can even tell me “Mummy, no more!” with just a few suckles and want to switch to another side which is being dominated by another party.
See the fun of breastfeeding twins? I really cannot imagine what will happen and how they will react when I decide to wean them off one day. If only they can love the real cow more instead of ME!

I gave up on Didi!
I know there will be no way for this boy of mine to accept formula (cow or soy) anymore as he hates it from the moment he is out into this world. Hence, I am already starting to take fenugreek to increase my breastmilk and surprisingly, I experience engorgement again (even better engorgement as compare to my confinement time).
How to take raw fenugreek seeds (Halba)
just swallow 1/2 tsp with water first thing in the morning with empty stomach
Where to get fenugreek seeds
I got myself one pack from the sundry shop and it is only Rm1.50. If you are afraid of swallowing these unprocessed ones, you can also buy One bottle of Fenugreek tablets from GNC Store (cost about Rm60 for 100 tablets)
After swallowing the seed for 3 mornings, I am surprise to see the “increase of cup size” again on myself. No more soggy breast but they are as hard as stone full with milk especially in the wee morning! So happy that I no longer need to struggle daily or torture my younger twin with force feeding the formula/Milo/full cream/fresh milk. Even his appetite for porridge has increase a bit although we have to keep him entertained with my office supplies, scribbling here and there on a piece of big white paper while eating.

….continue from my Tanjung Rambutan journey
Two nights ago, we brought the boys to their 3rd Pneumoccocal jab, finally to their last very very expensive jab (RM560 for twins per jab) which has been delayed very long due to some light flu. Again my greatest fear came as they were put on the weight scale.

Miniature Didi beating to the drums
Didi weights only 8.6kg while Korkor is 8.8kg at 16 months which is way below the acceptable range (plot by graph on their medical card). Although the boys still look proportionally sized alright from their appearance and photos, they actually looks like 8 month old babies only in real (miniature 16 months).
The paed put them on multivitamin now and wants to see some improvement in another month. With Korkor’s appetite I know he will be able to pick up soon. It is Didi which I am worry about as he still cannot accept formula until today, not even the smell of it (don’t say a spoon!)
From today onwards, I decided to go into another “confinement” again, stuffing myself with those nourishing soup to see if this way can boost up my milk supply (Gosh, I cannot imagine the weight I am going to gain from now and having to depend on the best weight loss pills later). Otherwise I shall have to wean them off breastmilk totally, hopefully Didi can accept formula soon if he does not get mummy’s milk (which is definitely not my choice if possible).

Guess what I did yesterday? After breastfeeding my boys by letting them latch directly on me for more than a year, I started pumping again yesterday. No, the milk isn’t for the boys, but for a friend’s premature baby who is still in ICU. Born at only 33 weeks, the baby is still on tube.
Not wanting to pump in between feed (to avoid contamination from my boy’s saliva), I woke up to pump before they woke up. To my surprise, I could get only 1 oz yesterday morning when I pumped. Aiyo…don’t tell me they have been surviving only with this amount of milk all these while? No wonder they are so underweight! !
I hope my dear friend will have very strong will and persistant to breastfeed her premature baby this time as she gave up breastfeeding her 3 older girls previously. (She is now at the Dr Koe - lactation consultant’s clinic seeking for help to get the milk out of her engorged breasts).

I realise kids today can’t really get satisfied with their toys. No matter how good or expensive a toy can be, they usually ended up getting creative with some other things at home. Instead of learning to walk with a baby walker with wheels (that we keep away as it moves too quickly with the wheels), my boys love to cruise with the Ikea Rm19 Colorful Kids Stools.

And yesterday, they started getting even more creative with the stools. Instead of walking and pushing it the normal way, they accidentally found out it can be sitted by having the legs facing upward. Holding on to a leg with 2 of their legs seperated as in the picture, they could actually “go Vroom…vroom backwards” with the stool using their legs push on the floor.
I must really admit that I am already missing my twin newborns. They were so tiny and tender a moment ago, and now they are going wild at home, even wilder with their cow, ME. They love crawling up to me on bed, lifting up my shirt, position themselves nicely on top of me, to help themselves with the milk-buffet spread.
The only things that stays the same is that both of them are still so attached to Mummy’s breast @ 14 months!

I expected jealousy to start between the boys, but it happens even sooner than I thought.
Whenever one boy sees me carrying another, he will change his face expression to a pity look. Then he will start crying asking me to carry him too. So now, whenever I breastfeed them, I have to also feed another at the same time. Unlike when they were younger, tt is not that difficult to feed 2 babies at the same time as I can just “drag and adjust” their limbs and bodies to me easily since they are harder on their bones.
There are lots of funny position that I can think of when feeding them, particular Di-di. He would sometimes climb over me, going round like a clock. Sometimes they poke each other in eyes, and sometimes they pull hairs and ears of another party. At one time, he even pushed poor Kor-kor away, and continue helping himself with Kor-kor’s meal!
Each breastfeeding moment is such a memorable experience for me. If only I could have pictures to share…, but hmm….it is so difficult. *hint hint to Jazzmint and Sue’s help on our next photography session* (time to loose some inch at my waistline, haha…but I think only miracle can help me, and not even the top weight loss pills)

Just something light for the weekend.
I just can’t help but feeling proud of myself that I am still able to breastfeed the boys now, at 10 months. I know, it sounds almost unbelievable to most as it takes a lot of effort to successfully breastfeed one baby, what’s more feeding two.
Yesterday while running my errands, I was talking to some ladies while waiting for my food and they commented that my twins must be “pricey” in terms of spending on milk powder and disposable diapers. Not wanting to explain in details about cloth diapering in a hot coffee shop, I just merely tell them they are not that expensive, apart from being difficult to take care of. Reason is because they are still on breastmilk only, and we have not invest a single sen on formula as of today.
Guess where their eyes go to immediately after that?
*common reaction*
I bet anyone listen to my answer would shift their eyes to my body part to find out if I am that BIG to be able to feed TWO! Hey, I know you are now imagine how I look …….Ok… I admit, they are rather small after all! Too bad that my waist is has expanded so much the horizontal way. Wonder if anything like Fenphedra could help me burn the fats in my waistline
Enjoy your weekend!

Di-di trying to grab QQ’s bottle
Although the boys still on direct breastfeeding, they love to drink plain water from milk bottle (I use Dr Baby smelly rubber teats). I introduce bottle to them quite some time ago as I afraid they would not accept bottle milk when they grow up in future. I tried giving them formula through bottle (just for fun to see if I can escape from breastfeeding at times) but they throw out upon sucking it. *No luck escaping from the boys*. At this moment, they are still very attached to me. The only time I can escape is during their morning porridge feed (that is the only 2 hours I zoom out to do my facial treatment). Taking solid now could at least keep their little tummy filled for a while before they decided to sniff and smell Mummy again….
Now they love to snatch QQ’s things. I think in another few years, they will start to grow interest in hubby’s stuffs like work holding and hardware materials.
My breastfeeding journey
Never did I thought I would be able to breastfeed my twin boys exclusively until today (well nothing is impossible for me
)
Now my plan is to keep breastfeeding them until they reach 2 yrs old. Besides able to enjoy looking good with fuller breasts (also my only last time in this life to look so good*AHEM*), it is a great way to cut cost too. It is easy now as my milk supply is established by now, sometimes I even experience *ENGORGEMENT*! It is just that I am keeping myself tied up with the boys, btw, my choice so I should not complain. Hubby is now used to public breastfeeding as long as IÂ do not expose too much, *HAHAHA*

De Bumbo Boys @ 6 Months
Weight: Kor-kor (7.315kg) Di-di (7.0kg)
Progress: Both could flip over in both direction
(This is how mummy normally leave them being entertained by the idiot box)
Tell you, the boys really look alike when they have their forehead covered. Hmm…should have gotten some red beanies for them for this coming CNY celebration
Our progress:
After taking just panadols for days, I could not stand it anymore. My head spins and I could feel the veins are pulling tightly in my head. After bringing QQ to do her spec, and lunch at 1U (restaurant dragon-i which I personally feel, tasteless at all), I went to see a doctor. This is the 2nd time I am taking antibiotic (doctor assured me that it is quite mild) after giving birth to the boys. I could not be bothered anymore.
After plopping the tablets (flu, antibiotic, pain killer) and the cough syrup, I feel so much better today. In fact, no more itchy throat, cough or leaking nose!
It is so amazing that my cough can recover so quickly this time. Thanks to Hui Sia, it could be due to the Lo Han Guo drink that I took (boil 1/2 Lo Han Guo for 5mins, then cover for 30mins before drinking).
However Kor-kor is still suffering from lots of phlegm and Di-di with his leaking nose. Although they look “good and macho” with their age, their inner body are really weak. These boys are really useless as compare to their skinny sister!

“Innocent look” Kor-kor at 5m2wks
Weight: 6.89kg
I am so tied up with the boys recently as they refuse to be left alone. As day passed, they get wiser (meaning naughtier too) and both want to be carried at all time (often look at me, wanting me, ONLY ME to carry them all time!)

“Cheeky face” Di-di at 5m 2wks
Weight: 6.6kg
They just had their 5th month 6-in-1 jab and 2nd dose of Rotavirus few days ago. Di-di did not gained much weight and surprisingly Kor-kor even lost weight this month*starting to worry now*. Not sure if my milk is no longer enough for them (can’t help feeling very low confidence about my milk supply as they cry so frequently) or it was because they were sick for quite a period. My paed even said that breastfed babies tend to gain weight slower than formula fed babies. True ah? *scratch head* But if true how come Chanel’s beautiful Ariel could gain such a good weight with only breastmilk but mine sampai loose weight?
Since they are crying so frequently (dono naughty or hungry…sigh), I plan try to introduce some solid this week to see if there is any improvement to their behaviour.

De boys enjoying their meal while holding hands
I love these special moments. With only 2 pregnancy in this life, I know I will surely miss my children’s baby moments. Hubby just mentioned to me this morning that it would be perfect if could have another baby girl later when we could afford financially. But alas, I know the next would be a boy too (old people said the line on my babies tight could tell and I strongly believe in this). Since there is no chance of getting a girl naturally, we decided to put a full stop.
Babies really grow too quickly. As you can see, even my boys lost their innocent newborn look. Like any other parents out there, I want to capture as much moments and pictures with them.
I have a collection of my special moments with them, especially during breastfeeding. Of course hubby was against on posting these intimate moments here in public. Thanks to photo editing lesson from Sue yesterday, now I found a solution to edit the pictures (to hide myself). Also a chance to flaunt my asset, haha!
See my favorite picture on my header, I would say, it is priceless!
