Funny looking butter cake

As usual, nothing much to share as my days at home were overly busy with my growing up boys. I baked a butter cake on new year after dinner since Didi was fast asleep. Thought I would be able to write something nice on top with my leftover royal icing, but guess what, my cake was still hot. Thus the wording melted, hahaha……

Resolution in 2010

I must slim down my buldging stomach. Since I decided to “close shop” on baby making, every week now, I engage a chinese aunty to come over for weekly slimming urut (which is really burning a big hole in my pocket). But nevermind if it can help me get rid of my big stomach and help me relax:)

As QQ is going into her final year in kindi, I will need to spend more time with her on revision as she will start to have “ejaan” and “ding xie”.  At the same time, I am also spending more time with the boys whom is moving into their terrible two. Hmmm….I forsee more pressure coming in and more effort need to be put into my parenting journey.

Anyway, enough about me. Hope you all have a made a good resolution for yourself too and hey, wishing you all a very Happy New Year and may all your dreams come true!

Denim Patch Baby Ring Sling from www.mamapatch.com

I guess the above picture reveals all. The boys are getting into their 9th month. Very very soon, they will be able to crawl, then cruise and run! My maid and I have been wearing the twin boys since their first outing. Having bad experience with QQ, I somehow had a feeling that my boys will not settle well in their car seat or strollers. True enough, they do not (until today!)

Now, sling is a must wherever we go. Not only it takes their weight of my hands, it has also helps me a lot when I breastfeed them in the public.

Knowing the benefits of baby wearing, this practise has become so common and popular in advance country such as Japan and US. If only I can reach out to more mummies out there to wear their baby besides looking real good !

Hence, Mama Patch @ www.mamapatch.com is born.

Finally I get a chance to talk to Wai Han, my dear friend who is also a certified HypnoBirthing Childbirth Educator.

while QQ plays with Xin-E in the cardboard boxes

Came back from Melaka on Friday afternoon, QQ and I headed straight to her house while hubby goes into his office for a few hours.

She is kind to share to me some tips to relaxing childbirth. We even watched some water and home birth videos of delivery of twin babies (until my QQ watched until her eyes and mouth wide open!)

I guess she somehow sense the tension in me and with just some positive reinforcement sharing, I am now more confident with my pregnancy. All I have to do is just to be more careful and accept my body to let the body reacts naturally to the pregnancy (that include asking the twins to cooperate with mummy this time!)

Positive effects on me:

  • I sleep better now
  • I feel happier after communicating with the babies
  • Even the babies are more cooperative with me

Thanks Wai Han for your help!

Thank You, Cheng Sim

Life is full of love and wonders.

This morning after sending QQ to school, I stopped over at Cheng Sim’s house to collect some rose flour for my pineapple tart baking. While chatting, we talked about some thing related to metamorphosis (something related to our well being, related to our past life, how we can influence people around us). She is so kind to do some light stroke massages to my feet, my hands and head. It feel so good and so thankful :)

It is just a simple gesture of light strokes to make someone feels better, and nothing like point massage. I learnt a little about metamorphosis sometime back from another friend, Mee Yuen, and it is interesting to know that how we behave or react every second can actually effect people around us.

Unlike my first pregnancy, I have been on some funny stress this time, and I guess QQ must have sense it. Good to find way to release it before I stress up more people around me. Anyone knows more about metamorphosis, please share more with me as I couldn’t find much about it from the internet.

Live on TV3 Wanita Hari Ini

Look at how these superstars tumble down the place today! They are on the sofa of the live TV3, “Wanita Hari Ini” airing room. And guess what, these kids are really funny when the show is going on. Every mummy brought a helper along. I was only with QQ and thank goodness, QQ was very busy with the Congkak on the table that she could play quietly while staying with me through the show. Hubby even missed out the show and regretted for not tagging along!

Yes, four of some plain looking mums (ONLY when compared to the superstars walking in and out la) was hooked on our local TV channel, live!, this afternoon. It was quite an experience for me, thanks to this beautiful stunning mummy who shares the “lubang” (I mean opportunity) with me. This proves that even with a yellow face and body which almost needed some maternity clothes also can be on air, hehe………. (I seriously realise that a slimmer version of me would obviously looks better!).

Memoirs of Sojourner

Ever since I had an internet, blogging has become my current greatest hobby. Each day the moment I open my eyes, I will quickly switch on my computer. After checking to see if there is any advertisement offer and reply to all the comments my faithful readers left on my blog, I’ll then only take my own sweet time to brush my teeth, and proceed to me make my morning tea.

Besides writing on my own blog, one fastest way to update myself on the blog sphere is by reading blogs. To know what is happening around my friends, I’ll read blogs from mummies like mine. To learn more about what is in the latest about blogging, it is good to read from some of these internet experts out there. It can be quite interesting to come across some blogs created to share their insight, a wonderful meaning of life. Memoirs of a Sojourner is a great one. This blog is written by David Woon, a Catholic Flexitarian Singaporean who hopes to make the world a better place, while finding the true meaning and fulfilment in his life. David reads a lot, and you can see in his blog that this person is very well versed. Do drop by one of these days and you will know what I am talking about.

Not everyone in this world is fortunate to be born perfect and happy. Even a lucky and happy person can have his down time, when sometimes goes wrong in his life or when he lost his loved ones. There is nothing in life that we can avoid, however we can choose on how we react and make things feels better for us. It is important to share our thoughts and feelings and with some simple steps here, we can lead a happier day.

1. Always be kind to yourself. Allow self forgiveness and be your own best friend. Play a little game by imagine you are talking to a little child, whom is yourself. Say kind and praise this little child for everything he has achieve or done in life.
2. Look up, raise your head and lift your eyes, even when you feel depressed.
3. Practice gratitude. Focus on things that you already have and make a list in your journal for things you are grateful for.
4. Smile all time, and tell yourself everything in life happens for a reason.
5. Watch something funny and read jokes when you are feeling down.
6. Share all the above with people who need them at Hopecube.com - Health Social Networking Site. Be an inspiration to others.

Let enjoy some quiet time

Each of us need some quiet time space for ourselves, so do our little energetic child. We can’t deny that children learn a lot through play. However it is equally important to balance our children’s time with both stimulating activities and quiet activities. According to research done, creating a calm environment to little children provides them an opportunity to stay focus and allow ideas to flow in while promoting growth and development. However, being quiet and having quiet time is rare in the world of children at home or in school.

By indulging into a quiet time, I feel that I can put the world around me on hold, while having my mind and spirit refreshed. With a clearer and calmer mind, we can think and solve things better. Here are the ways to make most of quiet times:
1. Schedule some quiet time for yourself. Either wakes up before anyone else at home wakes up.
2. Be still during quiet time. It can be very difficult as there are so many things waiting to be done each moment, so try set about 15mins a day for some quiet moments, like reading or knitting.
3. Do breathing meditation. Just close your eyes, slowly breathe in and out, and think of nothing else.

I am glad I found this while writing this article. Please take moment and enjoy a quiet moment with John Hinson - “A Still Moment”.

We all know about The Secret and its law of attraction. How does this happen? More on focusing and truly believing into achieving the results that we want in our life, the universe will attract the “how” to work. To be true there is nothing about transformation or magical about the law of attraction. As the saying goes, if there is a will, there is a way. This law can be clearly proven on how some great achievers like Walter Disney or Albert Einstein achieve their almost impossible wildest dream. However without enough passion or desire, it would sounds more of a day dreaming for most of us.

The Simpleology WebCockpit 1.0 on the other hand emphasizes the rational analysis of out actions. With just a simple thought and method that we already know, Mark Joyner gives a fair and balance attention towards the importance of having both strong desire and a consistent set of actions. It is definitely interesting enough for us to learn more at http://www.simpleology.com.

However at the end of the day, it is still the great desire on has that counts. And most of the time, people who says they want to loose weight do not achieve it simply because they do not act in a consistent manner to achieve it.

If I had my child to raise over again

To all the lovely mothers out there:

tod.jpg

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I’d finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
Id care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes, and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more field, and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I’d be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.
