Places of Interest and Must-Eat in Hong Kong

Australian Dairy Co (MTR Jordan, exit C2)

Traveling so far without trying out what visiting their famous eateries is like not reaching there at all. So in the first morning, we took MTR to Jordan to the very famous Australian Dairy Co. for our breakfast.

Fried and Scrambled Egg Set

***Was trying to figure out what the waiter was talking about when he kept on asking, “Yu chin, yu chow?” (Want fried or scramble?)

We were indeed very lucky to get a combined table for 8 pax without having to queue at all. But we had a hard time during order because menu was written Mandarin. Although hub could read, he could not comprehend what was written in there!

Very nice Macaroni with Ham

Boy, another round of complicated question, “Tung fun, yi fun?” (macaroni or spaghetti?)

I remember reading on blog that food in Australian Dairy is served in set. So I just ordered 2Set B and 1 Set C. But then, funny questions came again, until we look at each other blur-blur!!!

Finally I just had to tell the waiter to recommend whatever is famous and serve all kinds of variety of eggs, be it scrambled or fried, macaroni or spaghetti in all our different sets. Easy!

Yeah…..we just had them all on our table, WAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

Hot Steamed Milk and Egg Custard

I know I would not have time to visit Yee Shun for their famous steam milk, so we had these milk custard here as well. Again, don’t know how to order this, but just ask the *super-duper-busy* waiter to bring us whatever is good-lah!

After our brunch, we took the MTR down to Central and took Bus No.260 from Exchange Square Bus Terminus to Repulse Bay and then Stanley market for a stroll.

Repulse Bay and then off we went to Stanley Market

Beautiful view from the Peak Tram Station and the arriving Peak Tram

After that we took Bus No.6X back to Central that passed by the road leading to The Peak. Luckily I managed to spot the Bank of China Tower so we got down from our bus, which cut half of our walking journey from Central to The Peak Tram.

Beautiful and absolutely stunning view from The Peak Sky Terrace

Great visit but all of us were freezing cold up there when the wind was blowing for our last 2 days in Hong Kong. Poor hubby was only in one thin layer T-shirt long sleeve, LOL !!!

Entrance to Madame Tussauds and my freezing boys

We did not enter the wax museum, Madame Tussauds because we do not want to frighten the kids. Queue was long while waiting at the hill top for our coming down tram. My poor kids were freezing man!

Tsim Chai Kee’s Wan Tan Noodle @ HK$20

Upon coming down, we took a cab straightaway to Mak’s Noodle because we do not feel like walking anymore. Carrying the boys can really break our legs man….

Almost no taxi driver want to take us because Wellington Street is just a street down the road until we meet one kind driver. Fare was only HK$23 (min was HK$20), LOL!!!

By the time we were there, it was around 9pm and Mak was closed. No big deal as we went to the opposite, equally famous for its BIG PORTION Mak’s rival, Tsim Chai Kee and ordered 3 bowls Wan Tan Noodle with super huge yummy Shrimp Wan Tan. QQ loves them!

But still I think Malaysia’s Wan Tan Noodle taste much more better because ours has LOTS OF LARDS!

Yung Kee Roast Goose @ HK$460 each ……..*sweat*

I asked hubby if his stomach still got room for food and since the boys did not eat much noodle, we walked down to the ever infamous, Yung Kee for another meal. Crazy hor…..

Unfortunately waiting time for a table was 45mins, so we *tapau* 1/2 Roast Goose plus 1 dozen Century Egg back to hotel. Regretted we did not buy the WHOLE GOOSE because half portion was sooooo small and not enough for mum, QQ and myself to *jilat* eh!

After that we took the boys to ride on the Ding Ding Tram, and mum and hubby almost had a great fall with Didi thrown off while climbing up to the 2nd deck. The moving tram was shaking so hard that I had to hold on tight to another boy while seating up there. Hence no picture taken :(

*sweat* ….  Dangerous betul!!!!!!!!

Lesson learned: Do Not ever Climb Up the Upper Deck on the moving Ding Ding Tram if you are carrying kids!

*Yumzzz to the max*!

The very famous Runny Yolk Century Eggs mum helped me to hand carry back all the way from Hong Kong and now they are still sitting inside my fridge (to prevent the yolk from harden, thanks to tips from Tracy dear),

Estimated Total Spent

  • Meals at Australian Dairy Co - HK$215
  • Meals at Tsim Chai Kee - HK$80
  • Take away from Yung Kee - HK$360
  • The Peak Tram & Sky Terrace - HK$230

  3. Yummy!~

  4. Been to HK several times but never tried Australian Dairy Co before. Will remember to try it if I go HK again.

Some people said that the roast goose at Yung Kee is overrated, that we can get similar, or even better goose at a cheaper price elsewhere. I guess only a local will know where to get the best roast goose.
