Dining and shopping in Hong Kong Disneyland
Long before our trip, many have been warning us about the food in Hong Kong Disneyland. As expected, everything here are sold at such an exorbitant priced and once you landed in here, you would not have any choice to dine else where unless you take a cab or MTR out from Disneyland.
FIRST DAY IN DISNEYLAND
Breakfast in hotel Room - we ate buns we bought at Maxim’s bakery upon arriving at the HK Airport. Best choice, I would say. Not only those buns taste good, buns from any bakery in Hong Kong is generally quite affordable, just like buns we buy over here at Bread Talk.
Lunch @ Clopin’s Festival of Food - I always find eating rice very satisfying, especially when I am overly tired. Must be craving for carbo, hmm…. So we stopped by one of the restaurant in Fantasyland for some Chinese BBQ rice items and had Roast Duck Leg Rice Set, Chicken Thigh Rice set, to be exact. One set cost HK$65 and one serving is huge! (Rice or Noodle serving in Hong Kong is huge anyway). But unfortunately, we all find that the meat tasted very *PLASTICKY*, until we all think taste like fake meat from the Mainland (if you know what I mean)…….*bad choice* . And I saw this same Chinese Menu is sold in almost all cafe and restaurant in Disneyland.
In short, if you are there, do stay away from any BBQ Items Rice Menu…*eeee*…still feel very geli thinking about that Super Huge Duck Leg Rice which taste so weird……
Tea Snack @ Adventureland- after the bad experience of tasting their rice menu, I decided not to have dinner inside Disneyland anymore. So we got some pipping hot hotdogs for the kids at around 6pm since we are going to have a late dinner, after the fireworks at 8pm.
Dinner @ Crystal Lotus, Disneyland Hotel -we are suppose to take a cab to Yue Kee at Sham Tseng for the famous roast duck but unfortunately the boys dozed off at 8pm during the fireworks. Hubby was too tired from walking so much while carrying the boys all the way out from Disneyland while I wore one boy on my Littlepods, hehe…

They woke up when we reached our hotel room but there wasn’t anything we like from restaurant in Hollywood Hotel. It was around 9.15pm already and I gather it was too late to go to Sham Tseng. One way travel through cab is around HK$150 (just in case you wanna know, Yue Kee is situated a bit out of MTR station and if you take MTR to Tsing Yi, you still need to change to a mini bus and walk…walk..walk..in the dark ad quiet housing area until you can find Yue Kee). Hence not wise to risk paying for that just in case the roast goose are sold out.

So we took the Disneyland bus again, and go to Disneyland Hotel to dine at Crystal Lotus. Extremely pricey though, but great food with fantastic dinning ambience. Review done here.
SECOND DAY IN DISNEYLAND

Princess Makeover Packages
Breakfast -We had tea and some biscuits at the hotel. Kids could not eat in the morning as they were too excited about going out to play. QQ and I had to go to Disneyland Hotel for her Princess Makeover so hubby and mum proceed to Disneyland. The boys had the very infamous Disneyland signature snack, Mickey Waffle.

Foot Long Hot Dog with Mushroom Sauce HKD65 @ Tomorrowland’s Stall
Lunch @ Tomorrowland- best place to meet up because I know the boys would wanna keep on playing in this area. I was so hungry and got myself a Long Foot Sausage with Mushroom Sauce @ HK$65. NICE! Even QQ who usually does not fancy Mushroom Sauce said this is good!

Pork Burger Set @ HK$65 from Starliner Diner
Well, after trying a few snacks, seems that it is always safe to go Western in there. Mum tried Pork Burger Set from Starliner Diner which also comes with a soft drink and fries. Not bad, but it was a bit spicy due to the black pepper sauce so the boys could not eat this.

Stitch Chicken Burger Basket @ HK$85 from Starliner Diner
Hubby ordered this special Christmas Set. It comes with a Chicken Burger, some fries, one cup hot mushroom soup and a soft drink. The chicken burger was quite tasty because the fried chicken was hot and crispy. Even the mushroom soup was good too, worth trying!

Boys excited with this cute Mickey Cups from the soft drinks
The soft drink served with each set was small but the cups are cute. I asked for 3 extra clean ones for the boys to bring home, hehe….

When were were walking by the Snow White Castle, we passed by this Royal Banquet Hall which served all kinds of international cuisine ranging from Western, Japanese and even the same Chinese BBQ menu….*eeeee*…… If only we discover this *food court* earlier!

Mickey Waffle @ HK$45 along Main Street USA - located outside Market House Bakery
How can we possibly leave a Disneyland without having this signature Mickey Waffle served with maple syrup, some strawberry jam and squirt of fresh cream? We bought one again to share because QQ missed out this in the morning. Regretted for not getting another one for myself….*too pricey punya pasal…..Grrrrrr….*

Turkey Leg @ HK$48 from the same stall as Mickey Waffle
Princess QQ asked for one Turkey Leg. The skin was so hard to chew but the meat inside is quite tender. The boys love it too.

*Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow*… along the Main Street
Did you notice the beautiful window displays? I am beginning to miss Hong Kong Disneyland already!

Some last minute shopping while the crowd had gathered in front of the castle waiting for the 8pm Fireworks. However it was a mad rush too because I want to leave before the crowd dispersed.

Some snacks for the kids and a nice handbag for myself

Close snap up of my cute pretty bag, nice or not?

Goodbye Hong Kong Disneyland and we will surely be back one day
We finally leave Disneyland shortly after 8pm back to Hollywood Hotel to collect our baggage and took a taxi to Kowloon to check in at our next destination.

**Do you know you can collect your Disney Stickers from the merchandiser, sales person, any Disney worker, hotel bus driver and even the cleaner you meet inside Disneyland? The above are part of what my kids collected.
Total Spent:
- Meals for the first 2 days in Disneyland: HK$720 (exclude dinner at Crystal Lotus)
- Sweet and Biscuits Snack + a Handbag for myself : HK$360
Eating Tips: Overall, it’s quite pricey to dine over in Disneyland. One great alternative was to get some dry food if you have time to shop at Citygate’s supermarket, which is just 2 MTR stations away. I saw a lot people buying cup noodles back to hotel from Citygate. Regret I did not get anything from the supermarket when I was there on the first night…
