Attractions that one should not miss in Hong Kong Disneyland

Warning: This is gonna be a very long post as I am going to describe our personal adventure at each attraction.

Below listed were those we managed to cover in two days at the park. As time is always limited in there, this can be actually very helpful for you to decide which attraction you want to prioritize just in case you do not have enough time to venture the whole park during your stay there.

Show Tip: Always check timing of the famous shows and the parade that you do not wanna miss.

TOMORROWLAND

Autopia (the electric car) and Orbitron (the flying saucer)

We reached Disneyland Park at around 11am during our first day. First area we went to was Tomorrowland and this has got the longest queue in Hong Kong Disneyland. Although kids above 81cm is allowed to RIDE and you can help them to step on the accelerator, letting your very young kids to control the steering can be quite dangerous because it is heavy for kids. InĀ  the end, you would still need to help them steer the wheel to keep to prevent the car hitting out from the track (where the impact can be quite bad).

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

All of us like this too, and we don’t need to queue for it because the car was moving very fast with continuous ride. But I was quite mad at the worker for not giving clear instruction earlier how many pax should go on in one car when we had to leave QQ behind on our first round because they won’t allow hubby to bring 2 kids in a car. It is always dangerous to bring too many kids at crowded place at times.

Takes about 5 minute queue. Although kids love characters in cartoon, but they are actually afraid of it in real because the size is so huge! Can you see my QQ so sexy wearing only a spaghetti strap during winter? It wasn’t that really cold anyway, but everyone was wearing at least long sleeve and some even with sweater. Thank goodness she did not catch a cold then!

FANTASYLAND

It’s A Small World

This was mum and my favourite ride. We love the colorful display inside and actually went in twice. No queue needed for this boat ride but walking into it was quite a distance.

Colorful view from from the entrance

“The Golden Mickeys”- a musical that must not be missed

When we passed by this theater, the schedule show was just about to start. We joined in at the huge crowd (perhaps have been queuing for quite sometime) but only manage to get a seat very far behind. We did not get the best middle front view, but as long as we do not have to waste time to queue, it was still worth watching :)

Mickey’s PhilharMagic (3D Adventure)

After taking a Fast Past for the super long queue on “The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh”, we went straight to watch the 3D show. There wasn’t any queue and we only had to wait for around 5 minutes. Best 3D I ever saw and the effect was so REAL until we could feel the “pressure of the wind from the popping out cork from the bottle, real little droplets of rain, smell of cake and even the quick moving of the flying carpet!” It was so real until Korkor actually cried halfway, not wanting to watch anymore.

Mickey’s PhilharMagic is certainly an experience not to be missed. We continued a second time immediately without even have to leave the hall, hahaha…..**my poor Korkor, he was facing on my chest hugging me so tight, sssss.h.i.v.e.r.i.n.g**

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

A great one I must say, as if we are brought into a magical storybook journey. There was a lot of great effect like *jumping, bouncing, swaying* throughout the ride in those moving honeypot.

I was so looking forward to ride it a second time but my boys were acting up (refusing to go in, throwing shoes at each other at the entrance, making a scene that even some China tourist remembered us after seeing us at the airport again 3 days later) by the time it reached our turn to ride onto the Honey Pot on 2nd day….*sob..sob*

**Conclusion: My boys are still too young and can be overly emotional especially when they are cranky. Hence, no more travelling with my boys, at least for another 2 years down the road !

Gee…I just notice my Ah Qi so *hiao* in that first picture taken with Mickey!

We had to queue around 10mins for Mickey and the longest was around 15mins for Minnie

Now you see why it is always worth spending 2 full days in HK Disneyland especially we have spent so much for hotel stays and air tickets for so many all the way to Hong Kong!

TOY STORY LAND

Entrance to “Toy Story Land”

Gigantic Alphabet Board

Can you see how miniature we are walking along those tall green grass as if we were mini toys instead in there? We reached there around 3pm plus, but by then, it was so sunny and the queue for three rides in there were incredibly long although many had already went away to watch the parade ! No way we gonna waste time queuing for those since we can always come back the next morning.

ADVENTURELAND

Jungle River Cruise (very impressive) and Rafts to Tarzan’s Treehouse

Everything is almost in brown in color and it looks a bit dull in this section. But because queue was short, we hopped into the Jungle River Cruise and we were glad we did. There were a lot of nice real-looking fake animals in the water and the best part was the real huge fire coming up from the water on the last part until you can even feel the heat on your face!

We cross the river with the Rafts to that big old Treehouse (wonder how they manage to plant in such an old tree in this only 5 year old park).

Hubby was so tired and initially did not want to climb up so high to Tarzan’s house. Nothing much to see anyway, so you won’t loose much if you give this a skip. But I am glad we did, hehe……

All my three kids love Autopia, the electric car and Orbitron until they kept on wanting to go back to queue, again and again. Can you believe they actually do not want to play at other places on the second day and only want to be here, from day until night? Hubby had to follow one of the boys (we rotate them while we could move on to other rides) until he so jelak of riding for more than 10 time first and second day too, sigh……**boyz…..sien betul eh….**

Anyway, we managed to catch the beautiful firework display on the first night but on the second night, we quickly shopped and left before the crowd leaves from the fireworks :)
