Parenting talk by Dr Rose Peng
I have been hearing a lot about this doctor. At one point, when parenting the twin boys got out of hand and almost drove me to insane, I almost wanted to make an appointment with Dr Rose, the very infamous Child Psychiatrist (who’s clinic is located at Serdang Perdana)
However I am truly blessed that friends from all over supported me and helped me to overcome those moments and I did not have to go for medical help. I am glad those moments have passed and since the boys reaches 3, they suddenly got very matured and so much easier to handle too
Last Saturday, Bao Bei Mandarin Reading Center organized a free talk by Dr Rose Peng. It was a great opportunity and finally I was able to meet her in real!
It was a fantastic talk and Dr Rose shared a lot about raising of a healthy child, not only healthily in body, but also in mind and manners too. It was a three hour talk and because she can joke so well, I feel like I am attending a fun casual talk more than a speech delivered by a real doctor, what’s more a very famous one!
I do not remember in detail but she did emphasize on parents FULL involvement in parenting. Not in terms of $$$, but more to attention to bringing up a healthy child with both hands like how parents in the olden days did. For instant, able to take care of themselves, wash themselves, put them to do the housework from young is good to occupied them instead of letting them get hold of the computer or IPAD, which is also key to the dangerous influences of violence and access to all sorts of nonsense in this world.
Perhaps not every parents can afford to leave their job to be with their children from morning till night, but Dr Rose also shared how parents can control and play their role, when kids are being taken care of someone else, for instant babysitter or grandparents.
And the end of the talk, there was also a Q&A where concern parents asked about why some special children behave and react in a different way. Is it right to place these not-very-severe kids in special school where they imitate their peers and ended up behaving even worse and similar issues like that.
Dr Rose touched the issue of autism and special children too, and did a very good job to put us in these special children’s shoes and make us understand why these children behave this way.Very eye-opening indeed and I learn to understand a lot too, on how children’s mind works.
I can only say that I feel truly blessed that I have 3 kids who are growing and excel extremely well in all aspect. I really do!

Nice talk!~ Looks like really benefit parents a lot!~
