CNY: FGS Dong Zen

You would probably be laughing away already by the way I eat by now…hahaha..and if I could turn all my fats into muscle with the electronic muscle stimulation, I guess I would be Mr Muscle by now!

Before the CNY ends, we also visited to FGS Dong Zen at Jenjarom. Some how now I love living here now as compare to “balik Kampung” because there are actually many places to go or visit during all celebrations.

It is my 2nd time (or 3rd time), visit to Dong Zen Temple. Unlike last time, this place has changed so tremendously. Crowd during CNY was really bad too, but luckily we managed to get a close parking place to the entrance.

It has much bigger decorated garden, and there was even a fun fair for families. Unfortunately it has become very commercialize now, as compare to previous. For instant, now they provide many ways to for you to “Make A Wish”. For example, you pay “for a fee” when you want to make a wish by:

  • throwing your wish on a tree
  • hitting the BIG BELL for a wish
  • lighting up a cup of candle

And there is even a Restaurant in this temple now. Since the kids have not eaten their dinner (we arrived very late than planned because horrible Didi made a BIG FUSS and hubby had to stop by his car by the roadside outside our house for more than half an hour, calming him down), we went to ta-pau 3 Vegetarian Char Siew Pau at their restaurant.

Guess how much those 3 Pau cost? I nearly fainted when that lady asked for RM12!! Initially I thought I heard wrongly, so I asked even louder once again, in front of some waiting patrons. People around me, and then quickly fumble for more cash from their handbags, probably changed their mind too getting lesser than planned. What a total RIP OFF!!!!

I don’t know how you think about this, but I still feel it isn’t right to rip off customers this way. If they want to ask for donation for the temple, there are plenty ways to ask for a sincere donation like the above listed ways when visitors want to make a wish. What a shame for a Buddhist temple, and I regretted for not sending in my feedback, sigh…..

Signature Dish: Salad Crackers

When I planned this visit trip to FGS Dong Zen, dining out here was properly planned too. By the time we left Dong Zen, it was already past 9pm.

Big Prawn Fried Meehoon (Rm25 for 2 pax)

I google prior leaving home and I got this restaurant, which is somewhere opposite the road before reaching Dong Zen temple. Restoran Sin Kim Leng, Seafood @ Jalan Sungai Buaya, Jenjarom seems to be quite famous for their Salad Crackers and Crab Fried Meehoon.

Salted Egg Fried Mantis

Among all restaurants nearby, this place was indeed the most crowded restaurant along that road when we passed by at 7pm in the evening. Unfortunately by the time we go back to this restaurant after 9PM, many of their Crab Fried Meehoon has been sold out. The lady who took order then recommended us their Prawn Fried Meehoon, which taste REALLY GOOD!!

Best of all, all food here are quite cheap too. Would definitely go back to this restaurant again, one day!
