CNY 2nd in Kuantan
Sorry, if I have not visit your blogs (actually dying to find out what’s up during your CNY celebration). Will try to finish what we did on CNY before I hop over soon.
What is CNY if it is not about good food. Ya…in olden days, my grandma said people are so poor where they only get to eat chicken and duck once a year. Even gas drinks like F&N and Cola-cola was once a year for me when I was younger (I still remember vividly how excited I was squatting down in my grandma’s front compound, drooling at those little glass bottles of gas drinks delivered by the shop keeper when it was near to CNY)

But now, we can even get toss Yee Sang so frequently with the Pre-pack Yee Sang from Jusco, not to mention meat and gas drink whenever we like, anytime, anywhere!

Here comes the best part of CNY. During the CNY, each of our meal was well taken care of, by each of my elderly SIL, although MIL is no longer around. On the 2nd night of CNY, eldest SIL even prepared steamboat for us. Isn’t it good being married to the youngest child of a big family?
Probably that explained my increased belly fat during CNY …

Although my parents in law are no longer around, hubby’s siblings still gather in this old house their parents left for them during CNY. So hubby still insist us to be back here for CNY eve dinner. In another words, I can’t escape going home to my parents yet for eve-dinner, sigh…)

No one is staying in this house, but 2nd SIL who is living next door is taking care of this house. So it sort of become our vacation house whenever we go back to Kuantan. Eldest BIL even bought a pair of new lantern for this house, how thoughtful!

And to continue the tradition of this family, all little kids get to **HUAT!!!** and practice their Maths whenever it is CNY. So you can expect to see QQ sometimes with her happy face (when her Red Packet was filled with full of coins), and sad crying face (when her Red Packet becomes *light*). Although it has been a tradition since hubby was young, just so funny each time only the kids play while the adults still prefer to **YAK…YAK…YAK** away….

It’s so nice that your hb sibling still continue joining the reunion dinner although their parent not around anymore. Very blessing to have close relationship with our sibling.
yr in laws very heartwarming.. altho’ yr PIL’s not ard.. the togetherness amongst the siblings is ever so strong right ? CNY is all abt togetherness w family members.. I totally agree.
Sounds like a nice CNY, Chinnee! I think it’s great that your Hubby’s family still meet up warmly even after the parents have passed on. So few Chinese families are like that once the old folks are gone…
Gong Xi Fa Cai!!!
