Singapore Post 3: City girl at the zoo

Mum helping with one of the boy while hubby and maid we to queue to get the tickets

We thought we could reach very early at Singapore Zoo, to enjoy a nice relaxing theme Jungle Breakfast, eating near to the Orang Utan or watch the Elephants take their morning bath. Unfortunately timing did not go as planned, as the kids slept till almost 10am!

Some beautiful color parrots greeting us upon the entrance into Zoo Singapore

Getting the tickets at the zoo was not easy either, as queue was extremely long although order was taken manually before hand. Kakak has to line up for more than 30 minutes before reaching the counter while we quickly take some bite at their beautiful entrance where most of the cafes are located.

First visit to the zoo with the boys (posing with the fake Otter near the entrance)

Entrance ticket is S$27 per pax inclusive of boat and tram ride. For the boys, it’s FOC. By the time we got in, it was almost 11am. The weather has been extremely kind to us while we were there. For the first 2 days, it was very cloudy whole day long.

Watching the beautiful giraffe which after that peed a bucket full!

Aren’t the animals beautiful? There are lots of trees so the place is very shady too, suitable for those who walk in the nature but scared of the sun.

Icy blended lemonade in a special 500ml bottle (S$5)

However QQ did not feel the same. Although it was not sunny, you will still sweat after a long walk due to the humidity. Guess what happened to this princess who is so used to shopping malls with her ipod nano earphone? Without feeling shame at all, suddenly QQ CRIED OUT LOUD UNCONTROLLABLY until everyone turn to look at us, wondering what’s wrong….

Beautiful Wetpark in the Zoo

Besides having animals, this zoo has a FANTASTIC water park for the kids too! I am so glad I read about it earlier and prepared all their swimwear for the play.

Running through the tunnel of the water fountain

Have not been seeing QQ *shouting, jumping up and down inside the water and squealing out so happily for such a long time already. Being a little timid and shy, she made sure that she hold close one of her brother and bring him with her wherever she went.

Very low level water play for younger kids and babies

This wetland is situated  right in the middle of the zoo, where the main restaurant is located. It is a place for parents get to enjoy their food while their kids were playing. Although danger is not much of concern here, hubby and I still follow the boys closely  but rather than worrying the boys go missing among the crowds, hehe….

The whole place is so safe and their actually used the soft padded playground flooring for their water park! Not only the flooring and the water poles are padded, the floor is not slippery at all unlike the one at KLCC water park (Didi ran and slip until there was a BIG bump on the back of his head - will post about that later :( ).

Elephant of Asia performing

After water play (a lot delayed time there as QQ refuse to go), we rushed on to watch the elephant show. Shortly after the show ended, it rains!

The boys were so tired by then and they fell asleep while being worn by hubby (using Yamo SSC) and Kakak (using Ergo Performance SSC)

Luckily we were already at the Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre to avoid the rain. The rain lasted for an hour and by then, another show by the sea lion was about to start.

Boat Ride at the scenic view of Seletar Reservoir

Unfortunately after the show, we missed the last boat ride….WAAAA!!!! Everything in the zoo came to stop at 5.30pm as the zoo is closing at 6pm. So lesson learned here, must sleep early the night before and reach the zoo as early as possible!

Can you see the family resemblance?

Very reluctantly, we all took some pictures while getting ready to leave. We did not have enough of the zoo, because there are still about 30% area and animals which we have not seen.

My favourite picture of hubby wearing his son with a loan Yamo SSS from Joanne

Kids checking out the returned and park kiddy ride that they did not get to ride as all was rented out that day

Although a pricey trip to just a Zoo, I would say this trip is worth the money spent and we would definitely go to Singapore Zoo again.

So you think we would be death tired by the end of the day? Super hungry yes, but our outing for that day continues until 1am in the wee morning. Hahaha…check out my next post on what we ate and where we went after getting into the car….
