Singapore Post 2: Realised I forgot my charger!

At around 5pm, we finally checked into our room. Brother suggested Ibis at Bencoolen, due to its cleanliness and very economical price. But then hor, S$148++ also ended up in Rm424.xx. And the room is super small! Wonder where hubby and maid sleeps? Haha..try figure it out yourself!
And guess what was my obstacle No.2? I brought ANOTHER CAMERA CHARGER INSTEAD, duhhhh!!!!
As usual, luck is always on my side. Sim Lim Square (aka Low Yat Singapore) is just situated right opposite. No choice but to cross over to source for one and since Sony does not sell the charger separately, I had to buy a 3rd party fast charger. Please don’t ask me the price, because it will make my CRY! Luckily I got an universal FAST CHARGER (where apa-type battery also can charge) , so I managed to charge my battery within AN HOUR while waiting for my brother to come over.

Brother was not feeling well so he slept late and arrived only after 8pm. You probably can imagine how hungry we are by then. As suggested, we walked over to Bugis Junction and had our dinner at Crystal Jade. Food is good, so is the price in S$. Can’t imagine if we were to stay and spend there for one whole week!

After dinner, we quickly took MRT to Orchard. It was the first time for the kids to ride on a train, so they were very excited.

We alighted from the MRT station near ION, if I am not mistaken. It was already quite late then, and the malls are about to close

Not time even for shopping so we just took a stroll along the Orchard Road and take some pictures.

Can you see the lighted RED TEDDY from Takashimaya store? I suppose Teddy is their theme this year. And among all, these were our favourite!

We went into the store and took some pictures with the “Teddy Christmas Tree”.

And since we are there already, we managed to walk around the handbags area and bought a pretty handbag for hubby’s niece until the music came out where all the promoters was lining up along the walk way, to chase us out bow and bidding us GOOD NIGHT.

Didi was making noise wanting to ride again when , upon getting down from MRT and all the way when we walked right to the end of Orchard. So here, the kids were waiting anxiously to board their “choo-choo-train” again, FOR THE LAST TIME (because you see, even with MRT, we still need to walk a bit one, and hubby and I really beh tahan walking while carrying the boys). Sorry kids, no more “ch00-choo-train the following days as it is so much cheaper to drive anyway…there is so many of us ler!)
And because the paper bag (with a picture of teddy) is so cute, the kids wanted one too, and each of them carry a blank bag on hand. Good that cashier in Singapore gives you unlimited paper bags, if you ask them, hehe…..

On our way back, walking from Bugis Junction back to hotel, brother suggested we try the famous Durian with Pomelo Sago Durian Dessert (S$6/bowl) at Liang Seah Street.
Tell you, each variation hot and cold of their Durian Dessert that we ordered taste soooo good, we licked them all clean until I did not even remember to catch a picture of anything.
*Hey, by the way, we have so much durian in our country, anyone knows if we have something similar here too?

Hubby said this shop name is “Ji De Chi” but as far as I know, our Kei Tak Sek in Malaysia does not sell anything like what they have here in Singapore so I can be assure that they are totally not the same. Ji De Chi not only famous for their Durian with Pomelo Sago, and even other types of Durian dessert here tasted so HEAVENLY!
Total damaged for all types Durian Dessert (hot and cold) were S$35++. Huge damage if converted to RM for just a few bowls of dessert (and that’s also we all shared). Even my kids ate non-stop (remember we were all still coughing very badly then?)

Finally we reached our hotel and everyone slept so well the first night until we woke up late, very late for our next day itinerary. Stay tune, for more exciting pictures and stories coming up

The teddy bear Christmas tree is very nice.. Next time I go Singapore I must try the Ji De Chi, hehe
The teddy bear decor looked unique, this year Orchard Rd is definitely more stunning and beautiful than last year! Must give its Ji De Chi a try next time if we go there!^-^
Thanks for sharing!
Great adventure & nice experience
for the whole family!
Our small money value is definitely killing us Malaysians only if our mind would stop converting S$ to RM but that’s almost impossible.
Looking forward to your upcoming entries.
But but but… for Singaporeans who earn S$ and spend there, many many things are obviously cheaper there compared to Malaysia! We Malaysians are paying premium for lousy products and crap services in Malaysia.
Ur Sgp trip really vy “drama” leh. 1st, with the hotel reservations, then with immigrations n battery charger. Hopefully no more drama after this.
So syiok in S’pore! Happy Holidays!
wow… really found a good recommendation from you! thanks ya~! will hunt that durian dessert down!!! wuahahaha…
Agree with Boey Joey. For someone earning SGD, things in Spore are actually cheaper. You can still get a bowl of noodles for SGD3 in the malls. In KL malls, it’ll be easily RM7-8.
