Singapore Post 4: Best Steamboat can be found Singapore

Before we went there, I suggested hubby to look out for those famous eatery in Singapore. Hubby said, “We go there to travel ok? Wanna makan in Singapore???! Not only it is expensive, surely nothing can beat what we have here!”

Well I thought the same too, as most of the food I tried previous in Orchard tasted so bland! Especially those food from those food court along Orchard Road. That’s what I remembered.

Until my brother direct  us here (drove here directly from Zoo)

Eee…why so many people eating at the back lane?? Coz inside, at the side corridor of this restaurant is FULL!

A place for REAL Singapore food if you do not mind of the environment. But still, you know, hubby give that kind of look especially when the lady pulls out the extended size upper table top from the longkang area for us, when dinning with our young kids are concerned…..

Fish Head with Yam Soup Based

And then when this arrived on our table, our perception towards “Singapore Food” changed!

Not only it contains so much of BIG chunks of fresh fish, I tell you, the soup boiled with yam was extremely delicious until we kept asking for refill which they gave so generously!

Besides this steamboat, brother ordered a few HUGE serving simple dishes too and they all tasted so good!

Tian Wai Tian Restaurant at Opal Cresent, Serangoon Road

Best part of all, dishes here are very reasonable priced too. We had so much and it only cost about S$6x (cheapest meal that we had when we were in Singapore!)

Hubby kept on praising about the steamboat and their soup here, and seriously, we would not mind if we were to dine here daily for dinner!

Night View from Marina Barrage

After the sumptuous dinner at Tian Wai Tian, we then headed to Marina to see the night view. Driving around Marina with a GPS was so difficult as Marina Barrage is a new place and has not been placed on the map. Our GPS showed that we were as if driving on top of the black sea!

However at last we found it after making so many turns in Marina. View from this place is beautiful! Marina Barrage is a nice place to hang around leisurely at night. Many were flying their beautiful electric kites there at night. Best part of it, parking is still Free!

Not getting enough of the Marina Bay Sands, we drove nearer and parked at Esplanade so that we can walk to the Merlion. Spend some time walking around Merlion to enjoy the night scenery and clicking away.

Now we get a much nearer and clearer view of the infamous latest landmark in Singapore, the Marina Bay Sands. Hubby was not keen to go up to the observation deck, as I planned earlier. Too pricey for just a night view, as there were too many of us including the maid.

We then walked over to the Fullerton hotel which is just situated across the road. Unlike Malaysia grand hotels, funny that Singapore Hotel allows stranger to walk into their lobby so easily although it was already past midnight.

Perhaps they all have got very safe access like our economical Ibis, where only people with room access card can go up to the respective floor where they were staying :)

By then it was already past midnight, and we had not go back to the hotel since we left for zoo that morning. As soon as the kids got into the car, they all fell asleep while hubby and I still very energetic driving around Singapore town until 1am in wee morning, looking at their night Christmas decoration at Orchard Road :)

Next morning, see where we went to, for nice food and the shopping places where wedding shower gifts can be found.

  7. Hey, there’s a restaurant in Klang that serves the fish head with yam base soup, but it’s a dish by itself, not for steamboat. Your night view pics are so nice - sharp & clear.

  9. Replied to me by Wai Leng in details:

Shop is located at Taman Berkeley Klang.
    Here’s the phone number: 03-33438055
I find the soup quite tasty, but not sure if it’s similar to the one you had in Singapore. They also have other nice dishes to go with rice.
