A fun orientation day

I thought of bringing the toilet picture to the media, but everyone around asked me better not create trouble.

I have friends who joined the school PIBG (Persatuan Ibu Bapa Guru) when their children went to that school. They ambitiously joined with a high hope to change the fate of the children in school. Unfortunately it is a very old school and there are too much to do, and perhaps fund too limited?

Ok, enough said for that school. Other than the facilities, I am happy enough and feel very grateful that my girl has been allocated a place in one of the limited Chinese school in this area (top school in this area some more, hehe!)

Lost and Found First Best Friend

When we brought her to her orientation yesterday, I squealed in delight when I saw her long-lost 4yr old kindy best friend going into the same class with her( shy and quite anti-social QQ has a very solemn year in her last year of kindi when her best friend left that school after age 5! ) Besides she is also very lucky to has many old kindy friends in the same class.

Adapting to new environment

Her class teacher, Ms Yeoh does look a bit strict though, but I guess that’s how all Chinese Primary teachers are suppose to look like, isn’t it?  Class is very old, but that should not be problem as kids adapt quickly to their environment.

The kids had a good tour on the school, and QQ even find it amusing when the teacher asked the class to take turn to pee at the “longkang” toilet yesterday!

Canteen Food Catering

As I have been praising on the “POSITIVE” side of the school, she now looks forward going to school so that she can experience “buying nice school food” during recess time. To make things simple for her on her first month, I catered the canteen food for her (Rm35 monthly) so she only have to queue to pick up her food for the first month.

The only new hope and pray for my kids now, is the new Primary School Syllabus, KSSR (Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah) for all primary one students in 2011, with less books and less academic hours.

  1. It’s great that there r many familiar faces in her class. It’ll def make adapting to the new environment much easier.

  2. 13 classes and she has her best friend in the same class? That’s really God’s blessing for her.

  3. Holy smoke, I took a peek from your previous post… the toilet really give me an hallucination of being in the hell! LOL! It’s great that she has some former friends in the class, that’s definitely a relief for both you and her!

  4. Nothing’s happier for a kid than spotting those familiar faces. She’s such a lucky girl. I’m sure that eases your worries too.

That longkang toilet, I’m sure if you highlight to media they might spend a minute or two to reassess the PIBG’s priorities. I mean, come on. It’s hygiene le. I’m really torn where to register my boy this March.
