*Haunted Thomas*

During the twin boys 2nd birthday, we ordered a Thomas Wooden Railway set for their birthday, online from Growing-Kidz.com, the Thomas and Train distributor in Malaysia. I blogged in details here.

This simple wooden set comes with an expensive battery operated Thomas, the train. Unfortunately, after a while, this train does not work very, so Grace (the owner of Growing-Kidz) kindly replace us a 2nd train, although ours is a bit dented, you know, rough handling of the boys.

And you know what happened to our 2nd train after that? After a week or 2 playing with it, we have difficulty stopping the moving train! The mechanism of the control button was stuck!

Since we can’t play it anymore, hubby drove all the way to PJ one afternoon, during his lunch hour, to show them the problem. Guess what!!! That *HAUNTEDĀ  THOMAS* was operating like NORMAL AGAIN!!!! Heck!! How could this happened, as we have tried so many times at home with the press button as it would not bounced up no matter how we pressed to release it!!

Since the boys also have many “other friends”, hubby who was so mad that *HAUNTED THOMAS* (that had given him so much of embarrassment in front of the sales person, not to mention the time spend driving to and fro to exchange it), decided to throw keep it away. Hope they would provide good service besides good deal like that we got also from buy.com

He has been keeping up to almost 5 months until today. I am pretty upset each time I look at the bag that contain this train that he chucked aside in his car.

Last week, after I forced him to take it out for the boys again, he gave the train some rub-a-dub-dub with so much of tissue here and thre (you can probably imagine how “clean and care freak” my hubby is). Finally the train goes back to it’s 2 little owner :)

Well, *HAUNTED THOMAS* continue to be as haunted as ever, and this time, no matter what we do (replace battery or anything), this battery operated THOMAS can no longer function!!!

Sigh….this is such a new train and I can’t believe that a quality product, by the Learning Curve, US would give us so much problem.

It is indeed a waste to just throw away this super expensive battery operated THOMAS (which cost Rm89.90!) just like that so I wrote to Grace again.

Not wanting to take an advantage from the kindness of the shop owner, I decided not to ask for a change anymore, but to seek assistance from the shop owner to check if there is a warranty so I could make a claim and send it back directly with Learning Curve, one of the leading toy maker in US.

Today, Grace replied to apologize and said she will check the availability of the train and send us another replacement at their own cost.

I can’t believe that she is so kind and being an online business owner myself, I really feel bad about myself being such a troublesome purchaser :( Whatever it is, I will surely send our *HAUNTED THOMAS* back to her, and hopefully the next one will be a “NORMAL THOMAS* for us….**cold shivers**

  1. its such a surprise toys fr learning curve to be so easily broken. i’ve bought some stuff fr that brand but never experience anything that’s broken. hmm that’s really funny. hope the 2nd replacement you get won’t be as haunted as the last two. :)

  2. Huh so weird of the “Haunted Thomas”. Grace is so kind and hopefully the replacement can operate smoothly.

  3. Probably something stuck somewhere and when your hubs took the train “for a ride” to PJ, it got un-stuck :)

  4. Hope you’ll get your normal Thomas very soon.. :)

  5. LOL !!! Haunted Thomas in your home!!!
