A *Hair-Standing* Night

Two days back we celebrated the 7th Chinese Lunar Month (Hungry Ghost Month), by making a small offering outside our house. According to some old people, it is good to do that, to make offering and pray for some peace in our area, especially we have kids at home. We have not done that before, so it was our first time.

Since it was still very bright (at around 7pm), we brought the kids out to see hubby lighting up the candles, putting the incense and burn some paper money. I remember I love doing this at my grandparent’s place (some more can stand outside alone in the dark lighting up all the blown off flame candles), not knowing what the actual meaning was.

At that night around 12.30am, when everyone was asleep, I was still typing here, planning to stay up late to check out some discount coupons for my girl’s school bag, and finish reading posts by my friends blogs. Out of sudden, one of the toy car suddenly came alive and started to **SINGS**.

Feeling something is not right, I began to get angry and warn “IT” to just leave me alone. Few seconds later, I suddenly feel *Goosebumps* all over with a tinge of cold air. Without wasting a second more, I *FLEA* all the way up to my room!

It must be made at me and had followed me up to the room. Hubby sensed something disturbing too and could not sleep well.

After shortly I fell asleep, Korkor started waking up to *SCREAMMMM*. You know, my boys were able to sleep through the whole night after they were weaned from me. With that type of body arching and scream, I knew immediately something is wrong. He kept on saying that he wanted to go downstairs to play, and I was too afraid to bring him (or its not him????), I woke hubby and he took over Korkor.

This happened repeatedly for 5 TIMES that night at the interval of every hour / 2 hour (hubby said that but I did not even dare to check the clock) and hubby had to carry him, open the room door to show him it was dark downstairs, walking around the room until he slowly falls back to sleep.

By morning, Korkor was already so worn out and his face was really pale. I got very worried and then my neighbour asked me to pray again that night to apologise to the wandering spirit and ask my son to come back, WITHOUT BRINGING THE KIDS OUT! Gosh….I totally forgotten that they still see things at this age and their soul must have wandered off with them. Shouldn’t have brought them out earlier, sigh….

I also put a container of 5 slices of garlic + 25 slices of tumerics in my room, as advised by a friend. We slept very well last night, thank GOD!

Similar experience shared  by others:

  1. Kakak reported getting goosebumps all over while ironing shirts last night followed by another toy playing by its own too, then followed by hearing sounds of our wooden door squeaking open at 3pm.
  2. Elaine shared that her kids were cranky, house door half opened when she was so sure that her maid has closed it before sleep.
  3. Another friend, CL said one toy that was already low battery suddenly came to life and start moving and singing in the middle of the same particular night too.

Freaky eh!!! Do you experience any similar incident too, especially this month?
