We love our neighbours!

We are very lucky to have very good neighbours. One of them is QQ’s ex-nanny. She is like a mother to me, grandma to the boys now. We bring the boys over almost every morning to let the boys play with a boy whom the nanny care for now (also a close friend’s son).

Another neighbour has got a girl same age with QQ. Each weekend evening, they go out to play together. Although they do not go to the same school and only sees each other on weekend, QQ call Iris (that little girl’s name), her best friend.

Now that we are thinking getting another place. We do not need anything bigger than our current house, but we hope to move to a place with a better environment, for instant an upgrade to a gated community housing area. It’s much safer for the kids, a better return for us too, when we sell our house in future.

Of course, money is still the biggest issue here, but we are putting the money issue aside first, hoping that we will find ways to finance our dream home. Another concern that I have is that upgrading to another expensive neighbourhood will eat up all our current savings for emergency and also the kids education.

So I asked hubby,
Me: “How about the fund for their study?”
Hubby: “JPA”
Me: What is they can’t get it?
Hubby: Sell the house and both of us move into a small condo

Good choice, since old folks does not need super big space. Furthermore, I don’t think I’ll have the energy to manage a big house later. But how about our neighbours whom we love so much? How about Iris? QQ asked. She said she do not want to move to another place, neither do I wish to separate with our beloved neighbours.

Have you experience the same too, when you moved out from your old place to another place?

  1. I was sad when dad announced to shift from Batu Pahat to Segamat. I was borned and grew up in BP until I completed my form 5. BP got so much of my fav. food which I can’t find in Segamat. But as days pass, we soon get used to the life in Segamat. After that, we went to college, U, and now married and moved away from our parents. Soon, we get used to our new life. Can anytime visit your good neighbours when you all are free.

  2. I got new nicer neighbourhood after I shifted.. :)

  3. CN, your hubs got the point! we always say that we will sell off our hse (which is still under construction) and move into a condo when we are old! :) ya, go gated! It’s safe! And I love the peace n quite in the gated neighborhood!

  4. We nvr had this kind of issue coz we’re nvr close to our neighbours. If u do move, dun worry too much. I’m sure everyone will get used to the new plc n make new frens in no time.

  5. hmmm, maybe you can get to know the neighborhood first before deciding whether to buy a property there or not… as for me, had moved around quite a fair bit during my younger days and as a result, have a lot of friends from different places so it’ll probably be the same for QQ too :-)

  6. Yes, CN. Gated and guarded is the way to go nowadays. We are thinking as well.

  7. You can consider gated property around your neighborhood? That way, you can still visit yourneighbours regularly. :)
