First Experiment with D90

Boys eating mini ice cream cones
Cannot laugh ya….this is my first time playing with a DSLR, a Nikon D90 some more!
I have been wanting to get one, but holding on my plan, as hubby thinks that it is too expensive, and “troublesome” to manage a heavy camera especially on outing. Lately my mum bought one for my brother, a 2nd year college student, since he said he need one for his study and assignment, in Digital Animation course (he probably fooled me and my mum!). Anyway we got him a full set with external flash, battery grip, and soon another expensive Nikon f1.8 lense, which will top up to almost Rm8K!!! #@$^%*@ So lucky kids today ya!

Since my mum prefers installment scheme, I offered to pay upfront for this camera so I shall earn the interest instead of the bank. In another word, this camera is still under “mortgage” which means, I also can use it *wink*….(no la…my mum said it is a wastage buying another, so WE SHALL SHARE!!)

Setting: f5.6, with rest auto, plus diffused external flash
But of course, my brother is staying quite far and it is pretty inconvenience to share. Hence I am using it only 2 weeks now during his school break.

Kids enjoying their cones, one after another while mummy trying many many shoots
Not sure if I got the camera setting correctly. I find that I can’t shoot without flash as they are constantly moving. But I notice the diffuser in used is too bright, and one may really go blind man, especially when they look at the camera.

sorry for the blur pictures above also, as I downsized them to only 400px, for quick loading online (also mainly to my lousy skill la!)
Verdict: I don’t think a DSLR is for me…It is really TOO HEAVY and TROUBLESOME to bring out. Furthermore, I need to tend the kids and hubby has no interest in photography as well. Luckily I have not buy one yet…*phiew*
P/S: My friend is now taking order for the Vintage Pyjamas sewn by her mum. Anyone wants to order the Vintage Pyjamas worn by my boys below? Buzz me here for details ya…..

aiseh..all the camera terms. I was quite tempted to get one too..now I can sei sum..no need la..better just use the compact camera.
hehe u didn’t get addicted after all
Hi Chinnee, how much is your friend charging for a pyjamas suit? I’m quite interested.
i’m so tempted to get one. but the bulky factor cuts me off.. u see.. i’m very kecik in size.. having a camera that is bigger than me is so not cool! lol..
i am tempted to get 1 too but the idea of lugging around a heavy camera puts me off. hence, a small camera for me will do for now. i may consider buying a dslr next year when shan rae no longer wants me to carry him *hehe*
once u get used to it, u will be fine ler.. got maid to carry other things for u ma..hehe
f1.8 50mm not very expensive la,(unless its another lens) around rm400 i think..if compared to other lens, this is considered cheap liao..hehe
of coz, pic looks better…
D90 is a great cam too …. hmmmm… as for me, i m fine with that heavy canon camera, but is true … if hv to bring that big cam out and taking k 2 boys is not easy .. lucky my hubby love taking photos too …
ehh yr boys hair didnt grow much hor….so cute
i cant survive with such heavy camera too….
I’ve no photography skill, so can’t differentiate a photo taken with DSLR or a normal camera. As long photo are not blur…i’m happy. hahaha….
Hahhaha… same case like me! I have been thinking for centuries on buy or not! Recently I found a semi-pro LUMIX new model, pretty good though! It has AUTO< MANUAL< VIDEO< CLOSE UP< and GPS! haha… light and easy! You should consider! It is only RM1599! Wish I can get it soon!
Chinnee,
I am interested for the vintage pyjamas.
Can email me the details (price, measurement to take, to provide cloth or no need, etc?, how long it takes to complete) etc?
Cute pyjamas hard to resist!haha
Not bad ma… ur camera, or was it your skill? Ha ha!
