Snake blister growing on body
Things has been happening at home one after another. After a close family has just recently recovered with a treatment for depression, my mum now has problem with her health. Initially it started with a big stripe of water blisters on my mum’s back and then it spreaded all over to her chest and breasts. Western medical term refers to skin problem but many traditional Chinese said it is “sang seh” (Snake on body). Snake usually grows on leg or body and it will keeps on growing longer. Some said we will die when the head meets the tail (if it curls up our body/leg).
It became so painful for my mum until she could not even wear her bra or sleep on her back. She had to take leave from her work and rest at home.
After seeing so many skin specialist and also seek help from chinese medium for more than a month, we thought mum had recovered. But now, she complained about numbness on her limbs. She even found out that partially of her eye sight is gone! Well, some said that the “snake” has gone in deeper and got into her nerve, but when she went for thorough check up today, it was found that she has very high blood pressure which cause the numbness. We would very much like to believe her problem can be just cured with the proven medicine, but if it is cured, how come her pain is getting worse? Sigh… Now we do not even know what else to believe in anymore.

My dad used to have this behind his body..still remembered he said very pain. Then he went to see this skin specialist at Sg buloh which we always go if there’s any skin problem.
I cant recall back what are the treatments but i know it was quite expensive, but it took about a week only can see the blister going down. Though my dad has recovered, but still can see the mark there.
I know how much the pain can be cos my dad cant even bend his waist or squat down even just a small blister. Hope ur mum will recover soon.
i’ve know there is a doctor at seri kembangan. u know the market area? there are 2 rows of shop houses, there is one doctor at the corner. he’s very good. take medication for 3 days ok oredi. sometimes he’s not around. u better go in the morning around 8-9am. quite near ur place right.
It’s called shingles. It’s caused by varicella zoster, the same virus that causes chickenpox. When someone has had chickenpox, the virus stays latent in the nerves and can be re-activated when that person’s immune system is down or under stress. Anti-virals are only effective if given within 72 hours of the rashes appearing.
High blood pressure may cause changes in vision but not numbness. Her complaints of numbness and loss of vision may be complications of shingles, as shingles can cause neuralgia (pain along the course of a nerve) and eye damage. I think it’s best that your mum sees a neurologist and ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
so sorry to hear about this. i do not know much about this “snake blister” thingy, but i sure hope your mum is on the road to recovery!
Sorry, have been busy lately with meeting, meeting!! I remember when I’m around 15 years old, I got this shingles thing. It started to grow at my back and look like blister. Very painful, and luckily in my hometown, there is one old aunty who is very experience. She just light up using a ‘bee hoon’ (or something like that) with lighter, then, look for a ’snake head’ behind my both ear. Suddenly, I hear a ‘pop’ sound, and she say, she had killed the snake. Immediately, slowly, that night and following day, the blister just dry up and gone within a few days time…..Even though I don’t believe chinese tradisional treatment, but, it indeed cure me….
Hope your mom is feeling well now, in dec 2009 i had shingles on my right thigh it was very painful. i took antibiotics for 7 days i was told if i had seen the doctor with in 72 hours of shingles, the doc would have give me a injection which would have not made me go through the painful episode of it.
but now it is cured for me although i have a mark which looks just like a snake with it’s head up on my thighs i some how feel it is some good sign.
