Ettiques of telephone marketers
Not sure if you encounter the same as I did, I get really pissed off with phone calls from insurance marketers. I think most of these people are calling from bank and I tell you, they get really rude when I decline to their offer. Instead of saying thank you or anything, many of them actually just hang up the call to end the conversation. I am sure many of us rather buy insurance from friends doing insurance marketing rather than this people right? Sigh….what a bad image to the company they are attached to!

so far, I got disturbed by those fitness centre offering me free 1mth pass bla bla bla. already rejected them and yet still call and tell me the same grandmother story again. but at least they said TQ to me b4 end the call
for insurance, ya i wud rather buy from close fren/relative.
aiyo, not only them, but my husband has people calling him from the US in the middle of the night and Bostwana and trying to sell him some investment product.
At first he just decline politely, but then “ju lai, ju chey” and then he really cannot tahan already until he just cut their line. And some more they are really rude man. There was one angmoh guy who insisted my hubby listened to him. And when my hubby said, “Not interested”, the angmoh replied, “Of course you’re not, because I haven’t told you what it is in detail yet” and he went on blah blah blah…fed up, my hubby just cut off his line ;p
Anyone with a facility with a bank, especially owning a credit card, will certainly have received such calls at least once in his/her life! Some of the calls are from the bank, some from the appointed (by the bank) insurance companies and some are from the appointed third party call centres representing the bank. Generally, telemarketers are just trying to earn a living and I can tell you, it is not easy to convince someone to purchase a product/serivce through the phone. Rude telemarketers certainly create a negative impression of the company he/she is representing and definitely obtain no sale. These are the ones not being serious & responsible in their jobs and have somehow escaped the team leader’s call monitoring. Most of the time, the telemarketers will follow a guided tele script when conversing with the customer, which obviously does not teach them to be rude! I have been in the industry for many years now, and so know the ins and outs of the whole works
Anyway, I, too have been bugged by telemarketers too often; most of the time they are pleasant and I try to be symphatetic with them. Imagine your target is to make X no. of calls and Y no. of sales per day, with your calls being recorded and the team leader breathing down your neck if you do not manage the X and Y at the end of the day…
Ya understand them also want to cari makan only. But they has to be professional also and respect our decision.
