CNY is expensive when we have more kids
With 3 kids, now I see the huge difference when it comes to spending for CNY.
Since sales is everywhere now, we took the opportunity to shop every weekend. Not that they are many things to buy, it is just that we do not wish to spend so much on the kids clothing, thus I want to find clothes that is really affordable and cheap!
QQ’s favourite brand- Barbie clothing grabbed from the Isetan Member day sales last weekend. With discount up to 70%, each only cost only RM2x (orignal price >Rm8x). Sounds very affordable, right? I kept on asking her if she like this, like that until she got fed up and walk away to look at the toys instead. Hehe….I ended up grabbing more than she needed I think!
Only 3 pairs shirt + 1 pair soft jeans and 1 pair leather shoes for the boys. Got the boys cheapest shirt I can find except the soft leather shoes that hubby is so particular about (the boys love wearing shoes indoor to play daily, we might as well get the most comfy ones we can find).
Although I love wearing them the same, it is too wastage to buy 2 same pairs for twins since they are growing out quick at this age. Furthermore, these can’t be passed down anymore. Nah…boys clothing is so boring. Anyway, anything on them will just look the same….
Ahem, of course the above is for me. So looking like an Ah Soh (see all only shirts and pants), hubby wished I get more sophisticated clothing. But since I am nursing, it is kinda hard to wear nice dress, right? (Can’t be possibly looking for place everywhere to pull up my dress to nurse!) I think the only most expensive I got is a pair of Zang Toi heals (hubby complained that I have been wearing too much flat BATA so I better make a change this time!)
Even though after saving up a lot here and there, everything still goes up to almost Rm1K! Really, money is hard to earn but so easy to loose, especially during this festive season. So do you think hubby got anything for himself?
Wow really did not expect all those will cost up to almost RM1k! For me, I just get 1 set each for the kids. My parents and MIL also got some CNY clothes for them. So that will be enough. Me and hubby did not really buy any CNY clothes. In fact, we seldom buy clothes for ourselves! Still have enough clothes to wear.
But I just realize that I need a pair of shoe. So maybe will shop for it this weekend.
Ha, let me guess, your hubby didn’t get anything for himself yet? Shopping for girls certainly have more choices compared to boys. I bought new clothes for my kids during the mega sales end of last year. Just a couple pieces for 1st, 2nd and 7th/9th days of CNY. Just need to get them a pair of new shoes each.
No matter how affordable the clothes, they will surely amount to quite a sum becoz we are purchasing a few pieces for each of the family members. And we have not taken into account things like ang pow money to give away, groceries shopping and gifts for family & friends when visiting. CNY sure spend a lot!
I stagger my shopping. Since clothes are in good shape, don’t have to buy extras for festive season
Hubby don’t usually buy stuff… I’d have to shop anything for him… and having a new baju melayu… he’ll just go on and on about money wasted bla bla bla.
Hehehe…. simpler being guys la. No need to shop.
Ha, let me guess, your hubby has not got anything for himself yet? Shopping clothes for girls certainly has more choices (and fun) compared to shopping for boys’ clothes
I’ve already bought new clothes for my kids during last Dec mega sales. Just a few pieces for the 1st, 2nd and 7th/9th days of CNY. No matter how affordable the clothes are, the total sum we spend will still be huge bcoz we normally buy a few pieces for each of the family member. And there’s shoes too. This has not taken into account the ang pow money to give away, CNY groceries shopping and gifts to family and friends when visiting…no matter how much we try to cut down and spend wisely, somehow $$$$$$$RM….
ya.. shopping is real expensive but you’ve been frugal going to Isetan member’s day. the 3 day sale is really worth it.

wow so fast 1k gone already ka. i bought many new clothes recently =( feel guilty now. those are online baju and they are soooo much cheaper (my stingy budget is RM20-RM35/pc max!) than those in the mall/boutique. sigh…giving myself an excuse again =_=

Yeah…earning is hard, but spending is so easy. I will also always wait for the SALES and bought those RM10 - RM15 per set for both kids. Usually can find in Parkson. Very good bargain and with Mickey mouse somemore. hehe….

Wait a minute, Those shoes for your twin boys, so nice ler. I also almost finished buying NY clothes d. Now, my girl complain that she want to do the Gong Xi Gong Xi decoration at home. Again, it’s money money money! Hahahahaha……

As for me usually each kids will have 1 set dress/shirt+pants and 1 set casual (tshirt+short) and no shoes.
As for Othniel n I..we usually don’t buy any..most 1 tshirt/blouse for each of us…

Usually for the kids, we will get 1 dress/shirt+pants with 1 extra t-shirt each. No shoe because their shoes in good condition…
as for the adults…sometimes don’t have…if just 1 shirt/blouse for each of us…kautim…

Chloe still doesn’t know how to choose her clothes or tell what she likes. She’s so not vain, she doesn’t even notice what she wears haha.

Haha agreed boy’s clothes is bored. I understand that well after I shop for my boy. This year I bought some tops & shorts much easy when nursing. Yeah with dress I’ll be nude from top to bottom with only my nursing bra & panties wahahaha
I bought some stuff for the kids during our vacation to KL last year end. So, that’s a couple of hundred bucks too and it was also during the SALE season.
I wear Tees and Jeans for New Year. Means I don’t really spend that much on myself and I can also wear them to work
Hubby normally has one pair of new clothing only. What to dolah? Times are bad, better to be frugal.
This is the only time for me to buy more clothing for myself, so I wreck to the max, ha ha! When statement come, mouth open to max too.
I guess your hubby didn’t get anything for himself then. Wah, it’s nice to know that your hubby doesn’t mind spending more to make you more beautiful. As for my hubby and me, we won’t be buying new clothes for ourselves this year (hehehe….actually last year also we didn’t buy for ourselves!), only bought for my son. hehehe….let the little one enjoy his childhood. We old fellas don’t need new clothes every year ……hehehehe.
Yup, money is really hard to earn… takes so long to earn RM1k but SO SO easy to spend in just hours!

So pink! Girls just love pink ya. Yup, it’s much easier to shop for girls. When I was shopping for ah boy, I c a lot of nice girl’s clothes n so tempted to buy, but ah girl edi has many new ones edi. hehehe
We try to shop only once a year so we will get at least 2 for each member of the family lah. One for 1st day, another for 2nd day. The rest of the year, we have to save. Hahaha.

You know, I have not bought new clothes for quite some time, even since becoming a mother. Just no time to shop, or got mood to shop, but too rush every time.

i have to agree that boys clothing are so boring!!! i really love those cutey girl clothings!!! now, am looking forward to the birth of my soon to be niece
