Off so many weeks and so many days, they fallen ill a few days back!

We are suppose to go to Genting Highland today, and have our roomS booked for tonite and tomorrow night. Since CNY is getting nearer and the boys are over due for their 18 month jab, I brought the boys for their jab a week ago. 2 days after taken their jab, they started to have fever. Although their fever subsided, they then started to have creamy and mustard yellow poo. After 3 days, their tummy condition got worse and they now they are as if having diarhoea.

Didi can’t even sleep at night and keep on complaining on wanting to “Emm..Emm” (telling us he wanna poo whenever he get stomach discomfort). Although hubby and me had to wake up several times a night, at least it is good that I manage to catch his diarhoea on time before he leaks out on his diaper while hubby tending the disturbed Korkor. Unfortunately Korkor was too weak and tired to wake up and tell. He leaked twice on his diaper last night. It was really too tiring for me because I had to also wash him several times last night. Talking about parenting sick twin toddlers, sigh….

QQ on the other hand developed fever last evening for no reason too. She was a bit dissappointed that she can’t join her cousin to Genting, but at least she is understanding that there is no way we can have fun at Genting if maid and I have to bring the boys running in and out of toilet each time they leak!

Although we are not going to Genting, at least I still enjoy the CNY mood here at home. There is so much to see in our morning market and we can still go to nearby shopping malls if they are getting better this evening.

CNY is expensive when we have more kids

With 3 kids, now I see the huge difference when it comes to spending for CNY.

Since sales is everywhere now, we took the opportunity to shop every weekend. Not that they are many things to buy, it is just that we do not wish to spend so much on the kids clothing, thus I want to find clothes that is really affordable and cheap!

QQ’s favourite brand- Barbie clothing grabbed from the Isetan Member day sales last weekend. With discount up to 70%, each only cost only RM2x (orignal price >Rm8x). Sounds very affordable, right? I kept on asking her if she like this, like that until she got fed up and walk away to look at the toys instead. Hehe….I ended up grabbing more than she needed I think!

Only 3 pairs shirt + 1 pair soft jeans and 1 pair leather shoes for the boys. Got the boys cheapest shirt I can find except the soft leather shoes that hubby is so particular about (the boys love wearing shoes indoor to play daily, we might as well get the most comfy ones we can find).

Although I love wearing them the same, it is too wastage to buy 2 same pairs for twins since they are growing out quick at this age. Furthermore, these can’t be passed down anymore. Nah…boys clothing is so boring. Anyway, anything on them will just look the same….

Ahem, of course the above is for me. So looking like an Ah Soh (see all only shirts and pants), hubby wished I get more sophisticated clothing. But since I am nursing, it is kinda hard to wear nice dress, right? (Can’t be possibly looking for place everywhere to pull up my dress to nurse!) I think the only most expensive I got is a pair of Zang Toi heals (hubby complained that I have been wearing too much flat BATA so I better make a change this time!)

Even though after saving up a lot here and there, everything still goes up to almost Rm1K! Really, money is hard to earn but so easy to loose, especially during this festive season. So do you think hubby got anything for himself?

Ettiques of telephone marketers

Not sure if you encounter the same as I did, I get really pissed off with phone calls from insurance marketers. I think most of these people are calling from bank and I tell you, they get really rude when I decline to their offer. Instead of saying thank you or anything, many of them actually just hang up the call to end the conversation. I am sure many of us rather buy insurance from friends doing insurance marketing rather than this people right? Sigh….what a bad image to the company they are attached to!

A mistake hair dye

25.01.10 / Celebration, Chin Nee, remember me / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (9)

I was quite disappointed with my new hair color. Initially I had it dyed very light brown. Since CNY is coming and my black hair has grown out a long, I went back to the same saloon again to “add dye” only at the newly grown black hair. The hair dresser must be in a hurry and accidentally added too much dark brown to the dye. To my horror, after the hair wash, my hair looks like the old aunty sitting opposite whom had just darken her grey hair :(

Since my hair is already so dry, I can’t possible have my hair dye another time. What can be done is to jus “wash” down the dark color hair, so that it looks naturally brown. Although it does not look that bad anymore, I still prefer my light brown color ler….*cry* :(

Art of breastfeeding twins

For you all who wonder how it is like to breastfeed twins……

*Jerng…jerng..jerng…*

See how easy it is to breastfeed older twin toddlers, (provided they do not fight/pull hair/poke eyes, poke ears). When they are fine with each other, they like to giggle, laugh (while teeth lightly bitting on my nipples), play hide and seek with eyes close, aiyo…anything you can think of la….(imagine how badly my assets here are being played, fondled and tortured by these 2 gentlemen here)

At night, instead of turning to the left or right to the boys, I teach them to crawl on top of me instead so both can suckle at the same time. Sometimes when they are sleepy or drowsy, I just need to pull their head/neck with one arm (hope I don’t break their neck since they are not insured by North Carolina health insurance) while holding on the other.

Although they fight a lot now, they are certainly more cute and fun to play with at this stage. I do enjoy them better now as compare to their first year (which was really a nightmare for us!)

Delicious Homemade Deep-fried Crispy Peanuts

Crispy Peanuts anyone?

A friend of mine send some samples for me to try and I tell you, these taste heavenly delicious and crispy! Even myself, a person who dislike hates-nuts-very-very-much have to admit that this peanuts taste really good. My boys were fighting for it just now and I even got myself 3 jars (one for my mum, one for my in-law and one for ourselves). Blame it on Chin Lee who send this to me. (I think I am gonna need the best acne treatments after munching them:( )

Each jar crispy peanuts is Rm12. If you wish to order, I would suggest you to take at least 2 jars because the first jar will definitely ended up in your stomach the moment you open your first jar to taste it.

To buy: Place order with me a week upfront so my friend can ask her mum to make and collect from in Seremban during the weekend.

To collect: Can arrange meet up during the weekends

Stay dry whole night

Twin boys at 19months+

I am really surprise, how quick the boys learn to talk, able to greet and communicate with strangers, and now almost diaperless, even at night! Didi has not been peeing in his diaper for the past 2 weeks at night. Most interesting of all is that he is actually waking me up in the middle of the night to pee! I have to take out his long pants and cloth diaper very quickly and rushed him to the basin in the dark (we turn off even the bathroom light now as we love sleeping in dark with our room dim with the streetlight). And for the past 2 nights, same thing happen to Korkor too (so you can imagine how kelam-kabut I am right now as they still need to be carried, one after another, taking off diaper and pants, run here and there, then putting back diaper and pants). I have even sold some of my cloth diapers and I think all my favourite Goodmama and Bumgenius CD will have to go out soon too. Sigh….such a quick end to my cloth diapering journey. Don’t you think they got matured too quickly?

Amusing breastfeeding journey

They are still very attached to me, and still would not take any other milk. Other than drinking, they love to have me as a pacifier as well whenever I am around (plan to wean them soon, but that will be another story). Since they could “talk” and communicate pretty well now, Didi even specific the position that he wants me to be, especially when I breastfeed him on bed. During daytime, since it is most easiest for me to feed both of them standing in front of me, they even face each other, and it is so damn funny to see them “chatting and giggling away” with each other while taking one breast each in their mouth!

Although there were so many times when I wish to throw them out of my window, especially when they were not feeling well, cranky and won’t get a bite. However I must also admit that I do still enjoy taking care of them, right from baby stage, watching the boys grow right in front of my own eyes. Sometimes I just cannot believe I have actually gone through so much of madness with both of them and now they have grown up so much.  How time flies…..

Shingles (or “Snake blister”)

Thanks for kind friends who called me for the suggestion to “Snake” treatment for my mum. I also found out from Martini that the “snake blister” condition is medically referred as Shingles (also called Herpes Zoster). It is is caused by a virus called the Varicella zoster virus (VZV) and is in the Herpes family of viruses. However it is not the same as the herpes viruses that causes genital herpes or herpes simplex.

Shingles normally affect people who had chicken pox but did not heal properly and people over age of 55, or weaken immune system is at higher risk (no wonder my mum gets it). Although it can heal fast with early treatment, however it is very hard to judge if you are having Shingles at early stage (especially when the blister is not clearly shown on the skin surface yet). My mum’s case was dragged till almost a month and I read that the most common complication of shingles is postherpetic neuralgia where it can cause nerve pain (that’s what she is complaining right now).

Since CNY is coming, I hope she could get well soon, no matter using the Western medication or the traditional way. Sigh…my poor Mama…she must be so sad and down now :(

Snake blister growing on body

Things has been happening at home one after another. After a close family has just recently recovered with a treatment for depression, my mum now has problem with her health. Initially it started with a big stripe of water blisters on my mum’s back and then it spreaded all over to her chest and breasts. Western medical term refers to skin problem but many traditional Chinese said it is “sang seh” (Snake on body). Snake usually grows on leg or body and it will keeps on growing longer. Some said we will die when the head meets the tail (if it curls up our body/leg).

It became so painful for my mum until she could not even wear her bra or sleep on her back. She had to take leave from her work and rest at home.

After seeing so many skin specialist and also seek help from chinese medium for more than a month, we thought mum had recovered. But now, she complained about numbness on her limbs. She even found out that partially of her eye sight is gone! Well, some said that the “snake” has gone in deeper and got into her nerve, but when she went for thorough check up today, it was found that she has very high blood pressure which cause the numbness. We would very much like to believe her problem can be just cured with the proven medicine, but if it is cured, how come her pain is getting worse? Sigh… Now we do not even know what else to believe in anymore.

If you come across the “Snake blister” or know of where to seek for cure, do kindly share with me, ok.

Effectiveness of my weekly slimming massage

As my tummy is getting so big now (blame it on my overly good appetite) I have been getting a Chinese massage aunty over for slimming massage once week and she has been here for 3 sessions. Each session last for about 1.5 hours (Rm70 for lower body massage ) to 2 hours (Rm90 for a full session) with a hot tummy mask included. Not sure if it is really effective, I was also advice to wear “higher pants” similar to what some labeled as the big ugly Grandma panties because low cut is leaving a mark on my lower protruting belly. Despite all done, I still need to change my diet. Instead of not eating rice, I eat less now and eat only wholemeal and brown rice. I hope I can slim down naturally and hope I will get the result I want just like what the best diet supplements can produce. Wish me luck, so that I can look like a more “presentable”  WAHM soon!

Planning another vacation again

Ya..ya….although the school has just started, and hubby just back to work, we will be going to another vacation again by the end of this month. It will be a very short one with just one night away from home at a cooling mountain. Although it isn’t going to be a luxury stay the stay at cancun hotel, my kids still love this place. I am sure most followers will be able to guess where we are going by now.

Pretty Boys

13.01.10 / Parenting, Twins / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (16)

This picture was taken a few months back. QQ was putting on some of her favourite skirts to swirl and dance around, and I decide to put them on the boys! Don’t they look like an adorable pair of twin girls?

With an elder sister around who frequently plays with them, they learn really quickly. At only 19 months now, the boys can pronounce almost everything under the sun (especially Korkor who can speak so accurately). Instead of just single words and short phrase, it is amazing that they can speak in sentence at such young age. If only I spend more time on their education, doing the flash card with them instead of glueing to my laptop!

A typical day of a SAHM with twin boys

As the boys (now at 19 months) hardly nap now (only once a day), I no longer enjoy long online working hours. For the 2 hours nap, I have to reply emails, enquiries, update worksheet when receive order, kepo-ing and visit my friends in FB, take pictures, edit them and then upload the products and my blog pictures, snap the pads, make arrangement and pack things for shipping, go out run errand, pick up stocks from my tailor, and finally blog, chat, bake (if I have time)!

*Now you see*

For instant, this is what they did when I want to take picture of my sling for my website. As they just recovered from their flu and cough and have better appetite recently, now they both look almost the same again! Gosh, even myself can’t even recognise who is who now!

*Now you don’t*

As they were playing at the grill door, blocking my lighting, kept on appearing in my many camera clicks, then go play on the electric plugs (sigh….modern plugs are situated so much lower now at the risk of children touching them), we shooed them away.

“WAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!”

And this is what happen usually when I am in a rush to get things done, so that I can meet delivery and reply mails. I got stuck afterward for hours, trying to soothe my *si beh cheung hei* boys down, nurse them, coax them and finally by the time they fell asleep, their “want-to-play” sister is back from school again!

So now you know why it is so hard to get just one simple email or quotation replied from SAHM like me. Having a maid is not much better when it comes to managing the boys as they are also older now, and know who to choose to carry them.

Breastfeeding Pacifying twins @ 19 months

Tell you, they even pakat to suckle together, face to face, play, giggle and laugh while suckle from my poor boobs. If the first one let goes of my poor overly-dry dangling boob, he will ask another to “tutup baju” also. But if the other half refuse, one will get very *boh-kam-wan* and continue suckle for comfort at his side until there is no ending for me :(

High rate accident

Notice whenever we have big celebrations and holidays, road accidents rate tends to increase tremendously too. It is so scary to see innocent lives were lost in road accidents. Whenever hubby comes home late, I tend to worry about a lot. I don’t care if the car get smashed up badly, or if we need to spend money to hire a motorcycle accident lawyer, I am grateful as long as hubby comes home safely. I will just feel so relief the moment I hear his car engine in front of the house….*phiew*

Role as a mother

I love taking pictures of my kids daily and I take lots of picture everyday. It really makes me happy to see them play, dancing as long as they do not cry or fight over toys. Not even the preciousdiamonds could give me such satisfaction to see them grow. I took some really nice pictures of them yesterday (actually I was taking product pictures of my ring sling near to the window). I shall post them up soon.
