Best Popiah at Jalan Bunga Raya, Melaka
..continue from eating in Seremban….
This year hubby took a day leave so we can go back to Melaka a day earlier to witness the Christmas Eve celebration at Portugis Settlement Melaka, which is just a few steps away from my mum’s house. Since we did not have lunch, we just went out to the town to see if we can stop by to grab anything light. Suddenly the famous Popiah came to my mind and we decided to stop by Jalan Bunga Raya for Melaka most famous Popiah which has been selling for generations.
I just realised that it has been more than 10 years since I visited this stall. How time flies….

Yummy Popiah ladden with sinful lard crisp and oil
…..*yum…yum….really super super yummy*!!! Best Popiah I have tasted !

Crazy local crowd could be seen at the stall daily
Location: Jln Bunga Raya (by the roadside, right in front of Mdm.King’s Departmental Store - where I used to work part timely as a clerk after my SPR)
I think patrons who stop by the heavy traffic road to *tapau* the popiah are all locals since there is no place to sit. Cannot imagine how the crowd would look like if this hawker stall is discovered by people who travels to all the way down to Melaka to eat! Although this is just a small stall by the road side, the hawker is smart enough to use a card numbering system.
We had to wait around 20mins (all of us inside the car and we witness a snatch incident just right beside our car (where a guy from a bike came down to snatch a thick golden necklace of an Indian women who was just standing next to my car drinking herbal tea from another hawker nearby). My maid and I who were with the kids in the car were too surprised and too shaken to even notice the bike plate number that was just stopping right in front of our car…*phiew* Thank God the fella did not make an attempt to snatch our car instead!
