Miniature twin babies
….continue from my Tanjung Rambutan journey
Two nights ago, we brought the boys to their 3rd Pneumoccocal jab, finally to their last very very expensive jab (RM560 for twins per jab) which has been delayed very long due to some light flu. Again my greatest fear came as they were put on the weight scale.
Miniature Didi beating to the drums
Didi weights only 8.6kg while Korkor is 8.8kg at 16 months which is way below the acceptable range (plot by graph on their medical card). Although the boys still look proportionally sized alright from their appearance and photos, they actually looks like 8 month old babies only in real (miniature 16 months).
The paed put them on multivitamin now and wants to see some improvement in another month. With Korkor’s appetite I know he will be able to pick up soon. It is Didi which I am worry about as he still cannot accept formula until today, not even the smell of it (don’t say a spoon!)
From today onwards, I decided to go into another “confinement” again, stuffing myself with those nourishing soup to see if this way can boost up my milk supply (Gosh, I cannot imagine the weight I am going to gain from now and having to depend on the best weight loss pills later). Otherwise I shall have to wean them off breastmilk totally, hopefully Didi can accept formula soon if he does not get mummy’s milk (which is definitely not my choice if possible).

Hey Chinnee,
I recently got a list of energy powder list from a friend who has been feeding her vegetarian kids with it…and they are growing strong and healthy.
I have got all the ingredients(in powder form) and been drinking them diligently for the past two days…seems very effective at keeping my energy level up despite two very late nights doing some additional work.
The items are(if i can recall all..else i got to get the list n email u later)
white sesame powder, black sesame powder, raw oats(powder form), seaweed/kelp powder, soya lecithin, wheat germ, brewer yeast, brown sugar/fruit sugar, flaxseed (powder form).
Make it in lukewarm water. let them drink once a day.
I am letting my kids taking it now
Let’s see how’s their progress
Cheers!
my baby girl is also not gaining weight and was prescribe with multivitamin too. Lately, she is not eating porridges (maybe got bored with it) and she started to hate bread! I’m also very worry for her…sigh! Another ‘confinement’ for u = a healthier you. Take care…
How about letting the bumbo boys eat more “fattening” food such as mac & cheese which has lots of milk, butter and cheese?
Did you ever try giving them fresh milk as fresh milk smell not as strong as formula and healthier too.
hmmm..so i guess it’s best to breastfeed babies and supplement with milk powder from the early stages? Very stressful indeed when they refuse food and only want to suck on the breast, especially when they are already toddlers.
Maybe you can try box milk, let them acquire the taste.
Have you tried adding avocado, sweet potato or bananas into their diet, as I read that these are super rich food for kids and very nutritious too. I don’t introduce milk products to my boy as he is slightly allergic to dairy product.
As for increasing bm supply, besides eating well, I find that if I massage my breasts b4 shower every night (approx 10 min per breast), I wake up the next morning with engorgement. I hope it will work for you too.
I try to continue with bf especially with H1N1 threat still active..
shan rae is also a miniature toddler
ever since he got chicken pox back in sept last year, he hardly put on any weight
Really compeling post, thanks!
