QQ in her new pink striking HOt Pink Pettiskirt

Finally…finally…I got it for her (or rather to satisfy myself for wanting this)

She has been drooling on this skirt on the opposite Tiny Tapir’s booth when I was promoting Mama Patch during the Parenthood Fair last Sunday. As it was way too expensive and not much of use (imagine, Rm xxx for the price of a skirt like this), I decided not to buy it. I thought I could made it myself or even search for someone selling it at cheaper price over the internet.

After searching for a day, I gave up. Instead of wasting more time to find one or make one, I decided just to get them from fabulousmom.com, thanks for offer from Vivian (available for newborn onwards).

You see, there is nothing that could make a mother happier to see her own child able to enjoy such luxury which herself could not afford to have during her younger days.I still remember how I wanted to drink Milo at one time and my mum told me we just have to make do with what we have as we could not even afford Milo :(

It certainly isn’t easy surviving with only one average household income since there is so many mouths to feed (including Kakak, hahaha!!!) Hubby said we should not waste money like this but Aarrgghh….we only have one daughter wo……

After all, she has been quite a good girl lately and it makes me happy to see the joy and glow on my child’s face :)

Popo came visit

29.08.09 / Chin Nee, Family, Parenting / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (10)

My mum and sis was here yesterday, stayed here from lunch till dinner. They could not stay overnight because they followed my working father who dropped them by my house while attending to work.

Anyway it was a busy and fun day for us. The kids were delighted that Popo is around to play with them.

This round, I baked a big butter cake and made some buttercream for decor to show off to my family what I can do. But I cheated with the decor as I got frightened by the whole big cake (as I have been only decorating cupcakes all these while). Instead of applying the cream neatly, I just pipe the cream all over the top. We all sang birthday song dedicated to the boys (it wasn’t anyone’s birthday ok, but you know kids…). QQ insists blowing a candle and even the boys were happily clapping away  :)

Hubby thought my cake looks weird but he just could not resist having a piece. My family took some back and by the end of the day, we all swallowed the whole big cake!

My kids are real lucky as they have a mother who enjoys cooking and baking. FYI, I am the only one who bakes in the family. My mum hates doing “ladies and kitchen” stuffs and rather spend some money to get one.

Most Loving Sibling Photo, Agree?

QQ and Hong Zhen (Korkor)

Don’t remember if I posted this picture, it is certainly one my favourite (thanks to Sue for capturing this lovely sis-and-brother loving moment for me). Just in case I did not, I am posting this picture again to take part in the Most Loving Sibling Contest organised by both MOBS & ComfyBebe (was too crazy shopping online recently and now desperately wanting to win their grand prize, the Zoobie Pets!)

Although the boys are way much younger than QQ (four years apart), they can actually play and even fight with their 5 year old sis! Since the arrival of the boys, QQ is no longer a lonely child. The moment she steps into the house back from school, she will wakes her brothers up from sleep and demands them to play, running around the house, boys in their walker, chasing each other, even under my working table.

Since the boys just started to walk on their own (now at 14 months), I think there will be more fun in the coming days. I really cannot imagine if I have to chase the boys, drag them down and don’t know who to catch first, when they start climbing like a monkeys, chasing each other everywhere on top of our furniture.

Even Korkor (my elder twin) can speak in phrases like  “Didi, duduk!” (Sit Down, Didi!) now at 14 months! Just imagine how noisy my house will soon be, with 2 babies learning to talk at the same time!

So bear with me, if you wish to call to talk to me, but instead hearing screams echo everywhere at the back in your telephone line.

De Bumbo Boys are WALKING

4 more days to 14th months

The day that I have been waiting anxiously, the miracle day I have been hoping to delay, has take place yesterday!

In the afternoon, Didi suddenly stand up by himself, in the middle of the living hall, starts to walk. He was so excited that he has been walking here and there all over our living hall until his legs gone jelly numb and soft. And then I commented in Facebook how Didi leads again this time, in their growth development (sorry boys, but Mummy just cannot help not comparing both of you)

Guess Korkor sense it, and he does not wanna loose out too. In the evening, he too took his first few steps. Instead of standing up on his own unaided, he prefers to start his “walk”  by holding on the sofa to stand up. Everytime he falls, he will keep on going back to the sofa and starts his journey there.

By late evening, both of them were already walking many miles, indoor, nouth south east west to Jie-jie, Papa and Ma-meh! Sigh…I guess soon we will have to start our chasing game soon

Boys @ 13 months+

See how naughty my little son look? Gosh, I just realised my dear friends from twopixzels captured this cheeky little face when I saw this pic being posted on their website.

At almost 14 months now (still weight below 9kg :( ), both of them has slightly master some “Art of Kissing”.  The boys can eat really a lot, but I notice Didi will only take more given “tastier”  food when we dine out . However both the boys are still on breastmilk and we only feed them formula once in a while if they are not satisfied with their old milking cow.

It really gives me a great satisfaction to see how much they have grow, compare to their younger days when I was so tortured badly. It is indeed a blessing also to have a capable maid to take care of the household (only when they are asleep) while taking care of them full time (she cooks their porridge, feed and bath them, entertain them).Even Kakak can put them to sleep at night now, and it is easy as they are quite attached to her. Whenever they see Kakak carrying / hugging their sister, they will start automatically go to Kakak to protest and push her away. *poor QQ*

Now you know why I have a chance to do so many other things with these kids at home (although I have to endure their scream at the back, calling out for Mummy).

An excursion to Maggi

(Korkor who loves to play cooking, holding a spoon, and *Umm..Ummm…Ummm* pretending to eat all day)

“Not me, it’s my sis!”

QQ had great fun today going to the Maggi Masak-masak studio. Organised by their pre-school, each child only has to pay Rm10 and they get a good experience on the hands-on pastry making.

Chicken puff done by the kids

Each child wore back a red apron and brought back a bag of Maggi goodies (packs of cooking ingredients to please their mummies). QQ mentioned that they were served with yummy chocolate cakes, nuggets, biscuits and  little Milo packs as their morning snack. Not bad for a RM10 paid hor….

Kissing on *mouth*

13.08.09 / Parenting, QQ, Twins / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (20)

At this age, she has been very facinated seeing kissing scene on the TV (obviously I let her watch too much of Mama Mia’s DVD). She said married couple kiss a lot on mouth (you know, those munch, munch munch long and deep kisses) and then she shyly asked how papa and mama do that. To satisfy her curiosity, I went to hubby (who was carrying Didi) and did just a simple ’short demo’ for her. Of course I also explain to her why some people kiss like that and she must not just kiss anyone on mouth.

Not so used to do this in front of our kids, my china-pek hubby immediately turns *red* (men….tell you they only pretend to be shy in broad daylight but when doors are closed and lights are off ……………..(you fill in the blank)……………)

The cute thing is, after my ‘demo’ is done, Didi  immediately stand up, open mouth and kiss his father. Geee….although I have been careful about sending the right message to QQ, I underestimate my 13 month old son! I better becareful with this little boy of mine, otherwise he is gonna be a great lover in no time!

Irresponsible Printer (name not reveal)- edited version

Can you see what’s wrong with the leaflet as shown in the picture?

Instead of printing front and back differently, this headless company actually printed them this way, each 1000pcs  (for my 2000pcs A5 leaflet order). And what made me so *BURNING* and *EXPLODING*mad is that:

  • their staff (was silly of me that I forgotten to ask for her name) was the one advised me for my artwork placing
  • their inexperience or irresponsible staff, Mxxxx is the one who admitted nothing wrong with my artwork prior printing (when I keep calling her to reconfirm as my 6th sense is suspecting something amiss about the placement, she did not even replied my call despite many many times I called in and she was engaged)

When I received the order, I called in and guess what, once again the same personnel, actually admitted she did not see anything wrong about my artwork placement.

Knowing nothing can be done by just talking to their staff who would not admit their own mistake and pay for my reprint, I somehow got the contact number of  the boss of this printing company and called him instead.

To cut story short, he insisted that it is his “company policy” that no free reprint should be done, no matter what. After 30mins of argument, I decided not to waste another second on my handphone bill talking to someone like this. Really heart pain, sigh…luckily I can control my anger well and I do not keep them for long.  Not worth letting these idiot (ok, must be polite right, after all they are still human!) driving me to the grave since I am not properly insured (I know I should upgrade the coverage with the new life insurance quote.

So irresponsible when they keep pushing the fault to my artwork while it was being adviced by their staffs.

Funny thing is he wasn’t very happy on how I got his HP number online. Too bad he doesn’t know what a blogger can do and he got his old info was cached in Google although it has been removed.

So do not be surprise k, if you see Mama Patch leaflets around the town, coming in 2 sheets instead of one. Now you know the original story of how these funny leaflets were produced :(

Update on 14/5/2010:

1. They wrote 2 emails reminder to me to remove this post  otherwise they will file a complaint with MCMC and follow by the legal action. However I do not see any reason why I should, as after all I was only pouring out my anger with their irresponsible manner of handling their customer AT MY OWN SPACE.

2. I owe an explaination to the public on why the Mama Patch product leaflet appear in such a funny way.

3. In fact, I  am still a customer to this company and I have nothing against this company. It was the irresponsible way of their (referring to the name stated above) method of handling customer that make me really pissed off.

4. I have decided to edit my writing if there is any word I used on humanity basis. But I will definitely not taking down this post, as everything written happened in actual. (In fact, I still have the proof of the end product with me and I hope they recorded their tele-conversation with their customer as well to show what actually happened that day.

5. I do not hope to spend another single minute wasting my time dealing with all the nonsense above. If they are smart, they should let the sleeping dog lies. But if they really want to push me to the wall, I shall file a complaint to the tribunal and bring this up again to the media.

Update on 15/5/2010:

I have taken down the real name of the PIC in charge but am leaving the company name here, for record purpose on how my silly leaflet was created.

Anyone saw me in Facebook already knows how *burning and exploding* mad I was a few days back. Anyhow I had a great weekend at the Damai Picnic and I shall share the happy thing first.

Some pics from the picnic. I forgot my camera, but thanks to Faridah’s hubby for helping me to capture some of them.

Tell you, these bean bags are so beautiful and so comfy. How nice if I can afford to get a few of these in my house!

More pictures of the picnic here

Really, I did not expect this picnic to be so fun, especially for the kids (how I wish I am a kid again!) There are so many activities arranged for kids

  • fresh cupcake decoration kids can decorate (a small fee for children activities will be charged)
  • arts and crafts for kids
  • story telling

besides yummy BBQ and great talks/demo going around for the adults. Those who have not turned out, you have really miss this one. But if you are into babywearing, we will have another babywearing gathering soon, on this Sunday at Tiny Tapir, Ampang Park.

Baby Cot

Among all items we bought for our baby, I think the most useful thing would be QQ’s nice big wooden cot. Initially when we had her, we did not plan to spend so much to buy her a convertible baby cot. As she was quite a demanding baby, I just would not believe that she will be able to sleep on her own. Also due to breastfeeding, she was co-sleeping with me until she was wean. Not wanting to be alone, the cot was placed aside. She only started to sleep in it again when she was 2, by having the cot attached next to me, our bed.

Luckily we bought a convertible cot and she actually slept in it until the twin babies arrive (she was four then). By then she had actually need more space although the cot can still accommodate her height. Luckily it was easy for her to switch to the 3ft wide single bed instead (which is also placed next to my bed on the other side).

Now the cot is left empty as both the boys are snuggling very closely to me, for easy breastfeeding purposes. Didi do sometimes roll over to it if he needs extra space. Luckily we got a unisex Baby Bedding so the boys could actually use it now.

Cheaper Cervival Cancer Jab

I just got myself the Cervical Cancer Jab few days back. Since it is already so cheap now (Rm200/jab as compare to the previous one Rm490/jab), hubby urged me to go for it. Seeing the children so attached and dependent on me, he is really scared of losing me especially when they are all still so young.

Info you might wish to find out:

This 2nd brand vaccine, Cervarix (developed by GSK from UK) is cheaper than the first, Gardasil (developed by Merck, US) because they have yet got the FDA approval to penetrate the US market. However people are already using them all over the world.

Is there any side effects?

Not sure if there is any side effect, but I see the benefits of getting myself protected exceed the side effects that I can get. At least it is relatively cheap for such horrible cancer prevention. I am certainly not afraid of dying but hubby thought they are more for the sake of our children. Anyway, what’s more important than the life of our children’s mother, right?

Boys @ 13 months

07.08.09 / Parenting, Twins / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (16)

Korkor has great love for *vroom vroom* (any sort of vehicles)

The boys still crawl around the house. Good that they still CANNOT run but despite crawling, ‘meaty’ Korkor is very accident prone, where he usually slip, fall while crawling or even sitting down. This ‘lun chun’ boy is very very talkative where he will “yak yak yak” non stop! Whenever he sees people eating in public, he will a very pitiful face pointing to the food and keep on saying “Mum..mum…ah” , wanting a bite from anyone no matter how full already he is. (So embarrassing as if we are starving him like that)

He loves all sorts of vehicles, looking at the vroom vroom. If he wakes up early in the morning, Kakak will put her on QQ’s bicycle and push her around. With his talkative character, and also so cute and chubby now (coz I force feed them with Pediasure) that even hubby prefer him over Didi now.

Didi said, “ok la, you want me to cycle, I cycle lor”

Don’t know what’s wrong with this little boy of ours, he recently refuse all kinds of food. He hardly eats (only take a few spoonful of porridge at each meal) and there is no way we can force feed him as he spits out everywhere on himself, on the floor after a few chew in his mouth. Even wearing a bib could not save him from being in a big mess. How I wish I could cut his head and pour all the food into him!

At 13 months now, he is extremely attached to my breast. Most of the time, I gets really irritated with him, but sometimes he could be an angel too. He learns to kiss me (with his mouth open wide). Although he could say a few words, he hardly want to open his golden mouth (except for crying and latching on Mummy). He loves blowing bubbles on my big fat tummy, he gives the sweetest smile, only to Mummy and he laughs out loud when he sees Korkor behaves like a clown. Oh yes, unlike Korkor, he loves balls more than the vehicles.

Crazy parenting twins

Although they are identical twins, they obviously behaves very different. I guess most twin mothers out there will agree on this.

After 13months with them, I still think that they are getting more difficult to handle. At night, they have nightmares (probably played too much with their sister) and scream on top of their lung in their sleep. It is so irritating when they wake up the other light sleeper.

Don’t be surprise if you see pic of a man wearing his son on Mama Patch new product leaflets very very soon.  All the while it was me, the mother who wear the boys but Jessie suggested that it is nicer to have men do the babywearing instead. Looks cool huh? Thanks, Jessie for your suggestion.

Nah…he won’t wear his son in public la since he has 2 maids (me and Kakak) carrying his boys. But I still like to put the boys on him just for my photography sessions. We wanted to try on QQ but she refuse :)

How I got started on cloth

04.08.09 / Cloth Pad, Mama Patch / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (14)
Tags:

Thanks for the positive and very encouraging support to Mama Patch Pads. I am indeed touched to know that so many friends around me are already reaching all way out to save our environment, besides enjoying the health, benefits and comfort from switching to cloth. Let me just share my childhood story here, starting from being a girl.

Experience with Disposable Pads

I consider myself one extremely unlucky female on earth having very bad regular menses cramp. Ever since I got my menses during my teens, I have been hating myself being a lady, having to go through monthly torture with not only bad cramp, but itchiness, rashes and extremely uncomfortable. I stay away from school and from work at least a day in a month when I have my menses. I had to rush myself into the loo very very frequently especially on heavy days as I can’t stand feeling damp when the blood clot gushed out from my body and stay jellied. And worst of all, I keep thinking that my blood stink, and it did not even cross my mind it is the horrible smell actually comes from the chemical in disposable pads. (to prove this, you notice our used liners sucks even though we do not bleed?)

Realise the Goodness of Cloth Pad

I started off my boys on cloth diapers after being nagged by a good online friend (must really thanks to you, Chanel). It really feels great converting my boys fully to cloth even at night and I thought, why not myself to cloth as well?

I was really skeptical about the whole thing at first, but well, no harm trying anyway. I started myself with cloth pad on lighter days and slowly brave myself to use cloth even on my heaviest flow. I was really amaze to realise that even a piece of thin cloth pad can actually absorb so much better than disposable! With cloth, now I could sleep very comfortably at night without having to worry myself overflow all over my mattress sheet.

From then on, I have been fully on cloth even on outing. Not only it saves more (disposable pads are really expensive in long run), but I just love the comfort of wearing cloth pad. Gone were the days of my damp and discomfort experience and I have never turn back to disposable ever since.

Washing Part

You will be so surprise to know that our blood does not stink at all. It is actually the chemical that makes us stink. I love washing my own pad and each time I do, it somehow gives me a kind of satisfaction for saving the environment.

1. Whenever I change to a fresh one, I’ll rinse off my soiled pad under running water until water runs clear.
2. Then I’ll leave it to soak to remove stain.
3. Toss into machine and just wash it as how I do my undies together with the laundry.

Healthier living for our new generation

Wearing cloth is so much healtier too. Now I know how comfy my boys feel wearing cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers. Realising the benefits of cloth, I will surely put my girl on cloth too, in future so that she could have a healtier, comfortable growing up journey in her life.

Modern Cloth Pad

Tags: ,

After many months of trial and this month of madness at home (coincidently my twin boys are also at the stage of learning to walk), I finally manage to announce the new launching of Modern Reusable Cloth Pad at Facebook yesterday.

p1110522_1-2

Top Row: Regular Modern Cloth Pad, Bottom Row: Snapped up Regulars

There is so much to do (design, trial and experience started since many many months ago with some friends), we finally decided that this should be the design for Mama Patch cloth pad. (so much to do this one whole months and yet I do not loose any weight :( o. Must really read more slimming tips from the slimming pills review done by other blogging mummies online).

Mama Patch Modern Pads comes with assorted colors of flannel with matching printed wings / plain color wings. Made from layers of colorful flannel with a layer of breathable water barrier backing, these pads comes in 4 sizes.

Night Pads

These 11″ contour pads are generously sized with a 5″ at the back to prevent leakage at night. Layers of flannels are embroidered altogether for a better absorbancy at the top. Choose from our matching cute printed wings (or if you like it plain) with pair of matching colorful snaps on the wings for a better secure. Check out the pics and details @ www.mamapatch.com

Regular Pads

More colors available for our regular pads. Just choose from our matching cute printed wings (also available in plain) with pair of matching colorful snaps on the wings for a better secure. To enjoy greater saving, use it together with our soakers so that you do not have to change pads that regularly.

Liners/Soakers

Since most disposable liners come without wings, I suppose they actually works great just without wings. Wings only comes handy to prevent movement (hmm….cloth pad hardly moves if we wear our undies securely), and falling INTO the loo (as it happened once to me!)

So in the end, I came up with 2 designs available so liners without wings that they can also be used as soakers for regular pads for better saving.

To see more pics and details here at www.mamapatch.com

You wouldn’t believe how relief I am now after getting another big project done for Mama Patch now, thanks to my 2 super-glue boys and a girl with chicken pox (thank goodness QQ heal within 3 days!)
