Little Nyonya
Today Barb asked me how come my blog is not updated. I am really tired these days as there are so many things I need to rush (a proper name card, leftlets, bunting for Mama Patch). As I did not have Adobe software to start off my work (older version as the latest version will not be able to run on my laptop). Although my job is delay, I feel so pressure as I am very worried I will not get them done on time for the coming babywearing events in Augusts). Thus, I am rushing like a mad woman now (be ready as I am going to catch some of you asking for opinion on designs and stuffs).

While waiting, I got stucked to theĀ “Little Nyonya” series which started to air on Astro recently (7pm Mon~Fri). I have been going over to my ex-nanny’s house on time everyday to catch the series for the past one week until I found another brilliant solution, that is to watch online through youtube (only watching subtitile since my sound card mati liao). So, while waiting for my Adobe, I have been guility chasing the series online till wee morning.
Love the drama so much especially the way the beautiful Nyonya ladies dressed up not to mention all the “lengchai” man in that drama. Love the main character too, how nice I can be as slim and beautiful as she is (well, at least if I cannot be as slim as her, I hope to have a good complexion like her with the help of Pronexin natural scrub).
Being brought up in Melaka, a state with this wonderful Baba Nyonya heritage, surrounded by Baba Nyonya friends and neighbours, I have always long to own a original Nyonya kebaya. Although I bought a beautiful piece of embroided cloth way before I got married, believe or not, this beautiful sheer pink fabric is still sitting in my wardrobe until today!
Sad news is, I don’t think I would have any chance to get it done to wear it anymore. What for wearing kebaya, if I no longer able to achieve the hourglass figure anymore, especially with a ugly figure and a very big belly that I am having now

keep the kebaya for your daughter then; it will never go out of fashion. btw, even though i’m a nyonya, i dont own one now. used to have one when i was 17 (hand me down from my grandma) but i hv outgrown it.
Chin Nee.. I have the full version if you want.. just let me know
my mum was chasing this show too a couple of wks back. and she was full of praises abt the show. for me, i only chase tvb dramas. but i hardly do nowadays. coz i know once started, cannot stop *haha*
my mom is another fanatic fans of little nyonya too! her eyes really glued on the tv from the beginning of the show. only blink eyes during commercial break. hahahaa. best part is, my lil gal will ask her to play Barney DVD for her whenever little nyonya starts!! so both of them rebut the tv now.
The nonya kebaya is really beautiful. Hmm.. yah hor, should have worn it last time when can dat time. Hahaha. Now, can only dream.
my mom was talking about it. she even asked me to watch it. i guess i hv to buy the dvd from pasar malam soon… too bad they dont translate to cantonese.. my mandarin is very cha…
Eh you where got belly???
I’ve recorded the series but haven’t watched it yet. Chasing dramas is vy time consuming.
I am chasing this show too. Can’t wait to finish it! I prefer to sekali complete asap, so that I have time for other routines. Mummy is always busy one, right!
Aiyah…should let me know…I got the full version in DVD….even simple, can watch anytimes you want without any advertisement in between
I’ve watched this already & this drama really make a hit since almost everyone is talking about it!
My hubs like this drama. Now My little daughter too like it, I think. She would sit still and watch Nyonya!
You still have the time to watch TV? I am amazed how you manage your time, supermom!
this show is great. I stay up till midnight to watch as I can’t make it for 7pm (or miss part of it). The matriarch house is actually filmed in Penang,I was told..
Ohhh so this is the nyonya story lahhh..I was on and off in Melaka too. I have some sort of attachment to Melaka..and yes I love their wardrobe. Kebaya nyonya is the best kebaya, to me lah
I *love* this show too! Still remember how pretty “Yue Niang” is in this show, so slim and gentle
