Basket of butter cookies from De Princess

Hand written message personally done by De Princess

See my gloomy princess behind?

Princess cupcakes for De Princess friends

Everyone is smiling except De Princess

Last night, she behaves like her father again, demanding her REAL CAKE. I thought she was all excited about the Princess Cupcakes but hell, she said “Cupcakes Are Not Cake!” And she was mad and kept on asking me, “What if teacher ask Where’s My Cake”? *huh…so tired*

Tired of explaining more, I just let her fuss herself to sleep about the cake thing. This morning everything goes well as usually she is just too sleepy to argue anything in the morning. After she went to school in my neighbour’s car, I prepare the noodle (for her class pot luck party), dress the boys and drove to school.

My girl was extremely shy, and she hardly smile while everyone is singing birthday song for her. See how gloomy she is standing there like a puppet. Guess she is just shy….

And she is not alone. Later another mum of her classmate came bringing party packs and even arranged someone to bring her special cake, wanting to celebrate her girl’s birthday too, before the holiday. Guess what, while she got everyone posed for a group picture, her little own girl suddenly refuse to be in the picture no matter how hard she tried to get her in with her friends.  That little girl’s mother was so mad that she even slapped her girl, in front of all!!

Too much preparation, expectation and hope, that leads to frustration and disappointment. I can feel how the mother is feeling at that very moment.

Perhaps we should leave these difficult children alone, to let them grow at our own pace? I don’t know.

Definitely no more messing with buttercream after this. Too messy and too much work. Got a hardtime cleaning off the all the cabinets and industrial handles at home.

We did this and this….

Wouldn’t it be great to store something like these in our purse?

De bumbo Boys on my credit card….

or QQ during her happy moment….

Yes, these are REAL You:nique credit cards offered by Alliance Bank Malaysia. Instead of placing those boring plain looking credit cards, we can now have our favorite photo on our credit cards. I just love the idea of having a card like this so I can easily take them out and flaunt it whenever anyone asks about my kids. Perfect all parents who want to show off their kids like me, or even something that you have proudly produced in your kitchen.

See my bento creation on the card? It is pretty easy and convenient as you can easily upload your photo and order your card online with just 3 steps as show as above. Besides having a personalized picture, there are also great features to enjoy, ranging from great rebates, low monthly interest rates or 2x points rewards, which can be accumulated.

Since there is a waiver of RM38 for joining fee and also free 3 years of annual fees for the cards (from now till 31 July 2009 during ‘Sweet Family Moments’ photo contest period), I am definitely going to bug hubby tonight into applying one, so that our photo can be eligible for the “Sweet Family Moments” Photo Contest. How I wish I could win the new cool Nikon Coolpix S620, a good camera built for speed is just what I need to capture my quick moving kids!

Excited with the whole idea? Find out more at their page in Facebook and go grab one now for yourself today at https://younique.alliancebank.com.my/

Morning are best for me

26.05.09 / remember me / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (6)

Morning is always the best time for me even right now. When QQ is out to school in the morning, I will usually play short video for the boys before they have their morning bath. After serving them with morning cereal, they will be sleepy by then. Without their sister’s presence, they can actually take a very good nap up to three hours.

I love playing play soft music for the boys during their morning nap. Thanks to help from friends around, I manage to get quite a good collection of soft background music ranging from classical to soothing music for meditation. Among all soft music, I find that the meditation music is best and extremely relaxing. I just love the sound of the soft, especially when it matches so right with the sound from the singing bowls, Gongs and the Tibetan Chimes.

If you frequently practice yoga at home, you can use such music too. Before the kids arrived, I always practice them with the music be it doing simple yoga twist or just a short meditation to freshen up my mind and calm myself from my busy lifestyle.

I hope I just have more time for these again. Probably in another few years time, I would be able to live my own life and be free once the kids are in school.

Communicating with Ah Kong

25.05.09 / Parenting, QQ / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (9)

My girl loves my father. Although she gets extremely shy and now having trouble to greet, talk to other people (for instant my friends, her teachers and now even her ex-nanny), she can be very easy going with my father. Although they hardly sees each other, QQ can easily initiate conversation with her Ah Kong. She even played DVD for him, explain to him the storyline of the movie and such without any trouble at all when we went back to Melaka during the weekend. But with the rest, she just hide behind me and look away whenever anyone try to talk to her.

I wonder what’s wrong with her. She was like this too when younger, and her teacher said probably she wasn’t ready and is the shy type. But now that she is 5, I feel a bit uneasy when she does not respond to other people. Hubby and I tried to talk to her many times, and yet result is the same when she stand in front other people. My father even asked her, but she just not willing to tell us why.

I reckon she must be shy, but how long do I still have to wait so that she can behave just like other kids again. Shall do computer memory upgrade so my girl can start chat and conferencing to overcome her shyness starting from home.

“VISUALISE” the Happy and Healthy Baby C

By now, I guess many of us must have known that our dear friend Shireen’s baby C (3rd daughter) who is currently walking on a very tough road of recovery, since her first operation 5th of May. She has just admitted for another operation today.

I know it is difficult not to imagine the baby’s current condition right now if you have seen it on Shireen’s blog, but instead of focusing the tired and weak baby C, shall we lets use the Law of Attraction to “VISUALISE” the happy and healthy Baby C as the above picture. I believe we can all send positive vibes and energy baby C for a quick recovery and come back home again soon.

Update as 25 May: Baby C is now still on drips and just had an anema. She need to fart soon to prove that the surgery has been successful and no more obstruction on her guts. If only she could *FART* soon…..

Baby C: Something to Help Ease the Pain

I am also your daughter!

“I am also your daughter!”

She said this to me lying on her bed last night while I was whispering the boys’ name, patting them to sleep. Sad words, isn’t it?

Am I really neglecting my kids? Am I taking on too much time online, with Mama Patch, activities I love like baking, and such?

She loves snuggle close to me, asking me to hug her when I am hugging the boys, one in each hand, each night on bed. The boys are tough to handle, as they need to be bf to sleep, on arms. I wish I could have another hand for her, but most of the time she just lie there on her bed, drifting herself to sleep. When the boys are knocked out, she sleeps too.

This morning I attended the parent-teachers meet in her school. All teachers commented that, she looks very reserved and not much of confident in herself. She cannot express herself well, and do not want to respond to her teachers, when they ask her. She is not initiative like other children, and only mingles with her few close friends.

Teachers suspected that she has been neglected at home, thus lack of confidence. Her class teacher ask me if it is because of the boys, that I hardly communicate with her. Or was it I had too high expectation on her, that I gave her less attention, expecting her to behave like a grown up immediately after the boys are born?

Although I sense her strong jealousy, at least she still shows strong affection to her brothers. Whenever they move in their sleep, she will act just like me, quickly go and pat/rock their sarong helping me to put them back to sleep. I admire her for this, for I was much a lousier eldest sister when I was young comparing to her.

I know I did the best I can, however it always seems not enough. I guess most mothers out there feel the same way too.  *hugz hugz to all mothers out there*

Sorry about this sad post, as today is suppose to be a happy Friday for most.

P/S: Oh yes, hubby read my previous post and all comments. He came back laughing, amaze to see how we all so supportive of each other.  Thanks for helping out, ladies, all your words well said and went into his ears. Now he knows that his “yellow-face” wife is not easily being bullied although sitting at home with the kids :)

Cupcakes ain’t cake?

I am so pissed off with him last night that I had to scream at him while having our dinner (if I still have those cupcakes with buttercream, I’ll throw them onto his face!)

Since the day I started to bake a few years back, I have been telling myself that I would one day want to bake for my own children’s birthday, be it a cake or cupcakes. Seeing that cupcakes is in trend now (actually more easy for me to decorate), I decided to go for cupcakes, at least until my piping skill improve.

But from the moment he knew I am gonna bake for them, he keep on asking me, many many times until yesterday, if my cake is going to be presentable, and he told me he prefer getting a “proper cake”  from the shop for her girl’s birthday celebration in school (so that her girl could be proud CUTTING the cake instead of just having cupcakes)

After all the attempts and trials, all the hardwork and sweat (while I leave the boys crying behind) I am really dissappointed :(

It is now either I am going to bake ONLY CUPCAKES for all 3 functions (QQ’s school birthday celeb, boys birthday with family in Kuantan, and Melaka which I plan to buy from my favourite shop) to release my anger, OR he can have to use up all his great saving from the cash drawer, go and order 3 cakes for 3 occasions, apply leave from work so he could personally collect and send his version of “presentable cake” to his girl’s school!

What’s new over at Mama Patch

Another trial with the buttercream

My cupcake decor turns out better this time, *phiew*…

Cupcakes with fresh butter cream

Next week QQ will celebrate her birthday in school and I am going to bake for her. This would be the first time for my creation to goes out in public, and I hope to make a good impression. At least I want to let my child be proud that her mother could bake, hehe….

I was dissappointed with my first trial. See the “not-so-presentable” cupcakes decor.

As this is only my 2nd trial, with a  main purpose of making a nicer buttercream, I only bake 9 cupcakes, using half the usual buttercake recipe by Agnes Chang. It is also my first time to manually mix and beat the buttercream and the batter of the cake. Really not an easy job, luckily my girl, the maid and I took turns to beat them.

QQ loves it, and upon coming out from oven, 3 were immediately popped into her mouth before I even had a chance to pipe the buttercream on top of them. Lots of photos stored in my sd card right now :)

Crunchy hot directly from the oven

See how contented is my little girl while eating her cupcakes, one after another.

It was eerie QuIet out there

On Saturday

We all got up pretty early as we have to prepare to kids, pack all their lunch and head towards the Baby Wearing Workshop which is situated in Puchong. Numbers of participants turning out for the babywearing event was UNEXPECTEDLY great! It is really a blessing to Mama Patch, thanks to Vivian’s effort (Fabulous Mom).

Read the workshop review and pictures at http://blog.mamapatch.com/?p=184

We had to rush off at about 1.30pm to Ikea to meet up with Mummy Khong. It was also our first time meeting up and we enjoyed a super duper good treat of yummy New Zealand ice-cream from them, thank you!

However I had a huge surprise to see how quiet the whole Ikea is, for the first time since it open its store. Probably it is due to the deadly virus, A(H1N1) that has got into our country a few days back. It is really quite scary to go out to public places now huh?

On Sunday
At noon, I cook up a storm and had my SIL coming in to our place so QQ could play with her little cousin. It is indeed much safer to stay indoor than going out shopping these days.

Babywearing Workshop is Tomorrow!

15.05.09 / Baby wearing, Mama Patch / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (3)

I am kinda anxious what kind of group will turn up for the babywearing workshop tomorrow, wahahaha!!!

If you have always wanted to wear your baby, but you just weren’t sure how to use a sling. Or if you think slinging baby is too hot and inconvenient, come along to this free babywearing workshop and see how easy and convenient it really is.

I will bring some extra ring slings along. It would be a good opportunity if you wish to try to wear your baby, or learn wearing them in different kinds of positions.

I anticipate that this is going to be a fun and informal workshop (coz hubby, maid, and 2 kids are tagging along!). It is more of a family workshop, so all babies, toddlers and even caregiver in the family are welcome to tag along.

*plus* All workshop attendees will receive additional 2 free Mama Patch Soft Flannel Wipes worth Rm10 with every purchase of a Mama Patch Ring Sling. Custom orders for Ring Slings are welcome too!

Didi goes “Pak…”, Korkor goes “There..”

14.05.09 / Parenting, Twins / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (19)

It is indeed much fun to play with the boys now.

And Didi made me laugh like mad yesterday when breathed and panted heavily in and out, trying to blow a whistle but in the end all the air came out from the side of his mouth!

Words from the boys

Besides able to call “Mama” and “Mum-Mum”, the boys love calling out their favourite words each day. For Kor-kor, it would be “There…there”, pointing here and there. As for Didi, he loves to say “Pakk..Pakk..” He goes “Pak…errr…”, “Pak..errr….” when I teach him to how say “Butt..terfly…”

Weight gained

Weight: Didi is 7.9kg and Korkor is 8.1kg

Obviously no weight gained from previous :(

Teeth: Didi 4 (with another 2 coming) and Korkor 3 (with another 1 coming)

At 10month+ now, they are taking solid near to 2~3 times per day. Not sure if they are being underfed, they really have very big appetite. Whenever they see us eating, they would start going “mum..mum” and come forward, wanting a few bites from us. As young as only 10month-old, they have tasted ice-cream, all kinds of noodles, Mc D and even Nasi Lemak!

I am very tempted, and still keep trying to supplement them with formula, however still fail miserably. I am pretty concern of their small size and since they are not gaining weight, I get even more worry.

However, I am grateful that my babies are perfect, or almost perfect, if not 100% perfectly. They obviously seems to grow intellectually, and no sign of having brain damage or whatsoever despite having tyroid problem when they were born and now low iron problem. Not easy to become a mum right, frequently having so much to worry a little here and there.

Old laptop experiencing difficulty

It has been a week since I experience difficulty going online. After using this laptop for more than 2 years, we decided to have it reformat. After so many trials and error reformatting again and again, we only discovered that it has been infected with virus. Somehow this computer must have got some virus while hubby downloaded some online drivers for our modem. Or it may be that the hard disk is going to corrupt. Might need to spend again to have the KVM switches replaced.  And until now, there are weird messages popping up on my window everywhere, and if I accidentally pressed on them, it goes hang again :’(

FuN PhoToGrapHy

At least the above photo showed that we had a fun weekend during our photoshooting done by twopixel. Instead of going to the park which we intended to go earlier, we were lucky to find another shaddy park on the way to our intended shooting destination.

All in red, FIVE PIXELS from my home were indeed having lots of fun at the park. To keep the babies alert and sit on the mat quietly, I had to pluck the leaves and anything from the floor to keep them entertained, which only ended up in Korkor’s mouth. Only didi was a little bit gloomy as he was too sleepy during the shooting. QQ as usual, in her not very coperative mood but I least I get her to wear this red shirt, which she usually refuse to wear at all.

I must really thanks to our Mrs photographers, who rushed some photographs for me as I need to submit them for the twin babies article in the Chinese magazine for Mother and Baby, dated June 2009.

How nice eh if I have the skill like them too…*day dreaming again for another expensive indulgence*

If only the days are cooler

11.05.09 / Just info / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (0)

Don’t you think that the weather is extremely hot recently? By just sitting at home, we could sweat so easily. I even had to take showers several times a day to cool down my body, even at late night before I sleep. My boys are afraid of heat and they sweat profusely even while sleeping in my air-condition bedroom at night. Since we only have air conditional installed in our room, they spend most of the time just under the fan during daytime while playing in the living hall. Initially I dare not bath the babies in the evening when they were much younger, but now I just could not stand the way their skin feels especially after one whole day of running around the house playing with their sister.

How I envy of those who are staying in places with four seasons. At least they have a chance to enjoy the different temperature and weather in one year as compare to us. When the weather is mild, it is easy to have fun outdoor by carrying out several activities. That is why my friends who are living in the four season countries are always looking forward to warmer season like summer. Although it may be very cold during winter, I thought there are always ways to stay warm easily with an icebreaker and indoor heating element. How nice if I can choose to migrate to some places which are cooler so I do not have to sweat profusely while sitting in the house all year long.
