Fun with hair accessories

31.03.09 / Parenting, QQ / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (19)

Do not be surprise if you see my head full of clips when you drop by my place any one of these days. QQ loves to play with her hair accessories, by pinning and clipping so many things on Mummy’s hair. I sometimes, or most of the time, looks like a mad woman with so many of her clips and little pony tails as my hair is very short.

She even keeps her hair long now, and does not allow me to cut her hair short. (Influenced by her peers in school). I thought that she looks much better with shorter hair cut as she is too skinny. Anyway, it is only another 1.5 year she can have fun with her long hair before she goes to standard one :)

My dear QQ still can fit into mummy’s sling ( she will request me to carry her in my prototype whenever I design a new sling). Also helps me to do weight testing, my skinny and tall QQ oh QQ…..!!!

Same face but different taste

Didi & KorKor

When you cook for one baby, at least you cook according to her/his taste. Although you think my boys look alike, they do have really different preference on food. Not easy when I have to cook for 2 same age babies!

Since the consume quantity is small, of course cook their porridge together, for 2 meals. Didi loves fishy smell porridge and could eat well when I add dried mussels or steam fish. But Korkor hates them. He refuse to eat when his porridge smells fishy. He prefers sweet and fresh vege added to his meal.

Same goes for when I first introduced box cereal to them, I realise one prefer another brand than another. To avoid opening 2 different box at one time, I usually let them share. But when I buy one type, the other one refuse to eat. Korkor loves the taste of milk powder added to the cereal but when I feed to Didi, he almost throw out.

It is good that they have different taste so at least when they grow up, they will not go after the same girl, haha!!

Shades for baby’s bum

Just a survey for parents.

If you were to wear your kids, which color would you choose for your baby’s bottom (be it pants, skirt, cloth diaper). Do you normally prefer vibrant color or soft pastel?

Can you help me to choose 5 colors from the color chart above (one color from each shades is preferred).

**The winner (who chooses similar shades in Mama Patch finalise product) will entitle a little mystery gift from Mama Patch.

I am compiling all choices from each mummy into my excel sheet, so each comment helps, it really does!

First vacation

*tired tired*

Finally we brought the boys to Genting, the boys vacation for the first time. Together with 4 SILs and their family, we checked into 6 rooms (plus an extended night for our room so we can check out later), thanks to free vouchers from my mum, my SIL and also Miche!

Although the boys and I were in the room most of the time, QQ and her little cousin really had fun at the Indoor theme park (thanks again to Miche for the free voucher!) It was so cool up there that the boys were having good nap in the rooms while my maid and I watched over them.

This is QQ’s favourite ride. She dare not it on this in our last visit (probably she could not see well without her glasses at that time). But this time, she really maximize her fun with this ride. However this could also be the last time for her to ride as her height already reached the maximum line (they are pretty strict on the kids height). More photos kept in pc. Guess it is time to upgrade and buy memory to increase my storage capability.

QQ and her little cousin, Wai Hiin in the ice-cream van. Although I was looking forward to this trip, I realised that each vacation is no longer as fun as it used to be when I was younger. How nice it is to be kids yeah….

Half way out

The boys are on potty since 3 months old. It was my maid who spotted their funny face expression when they wanna do their “biz” . Since then they have been on potty, so that there will be less mess to handle with the nappy wash.

This particular morning was a funny one. I was putting Korkor on it (usually first thing in the morning or if the boys wake up from nap before wetting their cloth nappy). I was there carrying Korkor. I waited for a while, and since nothing happened, I took away the potty.

Suddenly korkor WAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!

*scratch head* (wondering to myself what happened to korkor as he usually feels relief if we do not force him to sit on potty). Guess what? I did not realised that his poop is half way out! Poor boy. At least he is smart enough to scream by letting me know he wanna continue sitting on the potty.

Smart hor? Who says little babies can’t be potty trained? Look at how relief he is when I put him back onto the potty :)

Kept away twin stroller

Almost long forgotten my twin stroller, thanks to Roseaida who drops by and leave me a note. From my past posting, ESPIRIT of MacLaren, we finally got MacLaren twin stroller for the boys. No more spending on the New York Yankees tickets for hubby. In the beginning of our outings, we always bring the stroller along. However QQ was the one always sitting in it while the BUmbo Boys refuse to sit for long. My maid and I always ended slinging the boys instead. Now we do not even bother to load the heavy stroller into our car anymore.

My views about twin stroller (Maclaren)

  • Very heavy. I always let hubby carry it.
  • It is very easy to move around. Easy to open too.
  • Will not tumble easily as it is sooo heavy. Sturdy stroller.
  • Wide but still can go on escalator (silly us. We have been using lift and hubby only realized this on the last time we used it!)

I hope the boys will soon learn to sit in the stroller (side by side). But one bad thing about putting them into twin stroller, we always ended up creating unnecessary attention from the public. Aunties just could not resists looking :)

Denim Patch Baby Ring Sling from www.mamapatch.com

I guess the above picture reveals all. The boys are getting into their 9th month. Very very soon, they will be able to crawl, then cruise and run! My maid and I have been wearing the twin boys since their first outing. Having bad experience with QQ, I somehow had a feeling that my boys will not settle well in their car seat or strollers. True enough, they do not (until today!)

Now, sling is a must wherever we go. Not only it takes their weight of my hands, it has also helps me a lot when I breastfeed them in the public.

Knowing the benefits of baby wearing, this practise has become so common and popular in advance country such as Japan and US. If only I can reach out to more mummies out there to wear their baby besides looking real good !

Hence, Mama Patch @ www.mamapatch.com is born.

There is still some loose matter to finalise, before I can officially launch these products on my site. *Please forgive me if I did not leave a comment on your blog. I am reading, I am still reading from my google reader*

Got to go….brb again!

Bumbo Boys switching character!

13.03.09 / Child's Play, Parenting, Twins / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (13)

*toot toot toot*

I love my days at home watching my kids play. This was how the boys used to play on rides with their sister. One boy will be in walker (usually didi since he could chase and run faster after QQ) while korkor will be on the ride with QQ.

However this play does not last long. There is once QQ did not hold korkor properly and he fell down knocking on his face. I was changing didi at that time so I have no idea how he fell (there was a minor *blue black* on his cheeck but it should not be that bad as QQ managed to grab him up. But for korkor, he has a phobia on the car now and now no longer wanna ride with QQ anymore. And ever since then, korkor has became very attached to me, where he no longer wants the maid to carry him whenever I am around. Poor boy, thank goodness now didi is a bit easier to handle as compare to korkor.

What a sudden switch of character between the 2 of them! *scratch head*

Hot tube for relaxation

12.03.09 / remember me / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (0)

At 9 months, now the boys have a more established nap and sleep schedule. During day time, they take a nap once in the morning (usually after morning breakfast and bath). In the afternoon, they will take another 2 short naps. This is the time where I can usually sit by my computer quietly to work. If I need a nap, the maid will keep an eye on them while I take short private rest in the room. Now they go to bed at around ten pm at night. Although they will be waking up constantly for feeding, at least they could sleep for a good two to three hours upon hitting the sack. This is the time of the day that I like best. Some free time where I can do something without having anyone there looking at me from the floor, crying and wailing for my attention.

I could just imagine how wonderful if I have a big tub filled steaming hot water now here in my house, with a few drops of my favourite aromatherapy oil. Hmm, probably I’ll go and check out what are the Hot Tub Accessories that comes along with the tub purchase so that my money will be well spent.

Transfer of domain and hosting

12.03.09 / All about Blog, remember me / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (0)

I have been blogging for almost full three years. Next month I will have to renew my domain and hosting package for this blog again. It is indeed very expensive (and troublesome too!) to own and manage my own blog.

When I started out this blog, I faced so many obstacle in setting it up. I am very lucky that an online friend help out doing everything from scratch. From then on, I had to depend on friends that I know online to help me out whenever I face any problem with this blog setting. A year later, I signed up another 2 domains. This time I am smart enough to sign up with another company for hosting they have everything automatically done for their clients with just a simple click. In another words, I am having double hosting, and since this is going to expire soon, I will need to transfer all my blog content and database to the new hosting.

With the help of CP, I tried a few days ago to do some of the transfer. I am surprise that it takes so much effort to Managed File Transfer from one place to another. There is still so much to do, and luckily CP is always there to assist by providing support online.

Sexy Snugg Mama *Pad*

See la…want to type the word also *paiseh*….

Not a very good sight when I dry them outside my porch hor? And now on my blog! *WAHAHAHAHA*

After a little success with the boys on cloth at night, now I have more confident about using these cloth for myself. *still a bit geli with the thought of washing them later*

When I first received them, I even brought them to QQ’s ex-nanny and showed her. Her first impression is like “What???? You crazy ah. Last time we had to use these, then washed only at night as the blood stain could flow in the drain to the next door home. Aiyo, you dare to sun it in front of your home ah? Not shy meh? And bla..bla…bla…..

I really find her comment really funny. In fact, I am amused by the idea of using cloth on something woman’s monthly menstrual too. But if it is really healthier (me so afraid of dying from cancer with the chemical used) and cheaper in long run, I see no harm trying out them.

There are many welknown ones in market, but most of them are so pricey. Saw this local made Sexy Snugg and the design really looks appealing to me. In fact, they are so nicely embroidered! Most important, they are affordable too!

Potential Beach Boys

I must be crazy, indulged into something so exclusive and pricey for my boys! I guess this will be my most expensive Cloth Diaper investment, and hopefully the last too.

According to some Cloth Diaper mummies, Goodmama organic bamboo velour fitted diapers has been highly ranked among the fitted diapers. In fact, some of the Goodmama diapers are so hard to get and crazy mummies in US has gone to the extend of bidding them, crazy bor?

After making so much research and learning about cloth diapering, my 9 month heavy wetter (especially didi) now manage to go without disposable, even at night. I am proud to announce my achievement to go GREEN, therefore I would not hesitate to get them the best cloth diapers in the market so that they can sleep better, one diaper, from night till morning!

Notice the flower prints? Hahaha….I love them! *crazy mama here laughing to herself* See if you can catch my Hawaii Beach Boys with their flower prints during outing one of these days.

De Bumbo Boys have already moved into their 9th month!

Weight: Korkor (7.7kg) & Didi (7.5kg)

Teeth: Didi has 2 bottom teeth erupted (@7m+) while Korkor’s 2 bottom teeth only appear (at 8m+)

Not sure why, they are back to babies time, recently getting more and more attached to me, and when come evening, both of them keep on crying, only allow me alone to carry them. Once when I was putting Didi to sleep, Korkor cried like mad. You know what he did? He kept on forwarding his body to the staircase (he know I am upstairs in room), wailing “MA….MA….” while hubby was carrying him.

The boys have been calling “Ma…Ma….” since 3 month old each time they cry for me. Initially we thought it is just coincident, but now we are very sure. Hubby is also surprise how come not once “Papa” is mentioned. I told hubby, breastfed babies definitely cannot live without their mama. Poor boy…I can only be patient, listening to his cry while putting another one sleep upstairs. Not so fun having twins afterall :(

While taking uploading these photos, Gosh, I almost cannot recognise who is who! Anyway, enjoy these photos, thanks to my lousy camera! *if only I have a dslr!*

“Use this ball, Mama’s taking photo again”

“Yes, yes….put there so those aunties cannot see us”

“Hi aunties!!”
