Christmas vs CNY
Like any other child, QQ loves the feeling of Christmas. Although we do not celebrate Christmas, I love the feel of this magical season (probably I watch too much cartoon when I was young that makes me want to believe the existance of Santa Claus coming into home thru the chimney!)
Seeing other home so nicely decorated with Christmas tree, QQ wants one too. But of course my ‘Cina-pek’ hubby would not want to spend on the accessories, whats more to store it after the celebration. Here is a conversation how hubby dampen QQ’s interest on Christmas.
QQ: Pa…I want to celebrate Christmas. Got Santa Clause!
Papa: CNY also got “Chai Shen Yeah” mah…(Choy San, the Money God)
QQ: Santa Claus give presents mah….
Papa: ” Chai Shen Yeah” gives $$$ wor….
Good also lah in a way……I’d just spent a fortune buying Xmas gifts for everyone!!!

Maybe, I, myself emphasize more on Christmas, my kids love Christmas than CNY…I mean angpows didn’t attract them at all, but, maybe, when they get older, it will…he,he…
The pic reminds me we got a family pic with santa and santarina last year at Pavillion…hope to get one too this year…kids always love the merry feel of Christmas.

But i think it’s true that the adults love choy san and the kids probably will prefer Christmas. I think they will prefer present than money? since they don’t know how to use the money yet. All being taken by the mommy to put in the bank.
