Antibiotic during breastfeeding

De Bumbo Boys @ 6 Months

Weight: Kor-kor (7.315kg) Di-di (7.0kg)

Progress: Both could flip over in both direction

(This is how mummy normally leave them being entertained by the idiot box)

Tell you, the boys really look alike when they have their forehead covered. Hmm…should have gotten some red beanies for them for this coming CNY celebration :)
Our progress:

After taking just panadols for days, I could not stand it anymore. My head spins and I could feel the veins are pulling tightly in my head. After bringing QQ to do her spec, and lunch at 1U (restaurant dragon-i which I personally feel, tasteless at all), I went to see a doctor. This is the 2nd time I am taking antibiotic (doctor assured me that it is quite mild) after giving birth to the boys. I could not be bothered anymore.

After plopping the tablets (flu, antibiotic, pain killer) and the cough syrup, I feel so much better today. In fact, no more itchy throat, cough or leaking nose!

It is so amazing that my cough can recover so quickly this time. Thanks to Hui Sia, it could be due to the Lo Han Guo drink that I took (boil 1/2 Lo Han Guo for 5mins, then cover for 30mins before drinking).

However Kor-kor is still suffering from lots of phlegm and Di-di with his leaking nose. Although they look “good and macho” with their age, their inner body are really weak. These boys are really useless as compare to their skinny sister!

First experience with my new Oven

I was so afraid that I might fall sick again, and guess what, I am down with bad flu again. My body is so weak after the confinement and whenever any of the kids at home fall sick, I will surely get their bugs. Even today, someone told me that I have got a very weak womb and it is so obvious shown on my face (dark dull skin around my mouth area).

It is really not easy to take care of the boys although they are almost 6 months now. I have been going through sleepless nights and constantly fall sick after sending my Confinement Lady off home with the Newark Airport Car Service. Luckily there is maid to keep an eye on the sleeping kids in the afternoon so I could steal a short nap. At least home are cleaned and meals are prepared with another helper around.

I was so looking forward to attend one gathering with some old friends but so sad that I could not make it last minute. Nevertheless, QQ and I had some fun baking with our new oven during the long holiday.

Mickey & Minnie Mouse Butter Cookies

Although we did not celebrate Christmas, we still did some Christmas cookies (recipe of butter cookies) to give away to our neighbours (QQ’s friends). See how crowded my table top is now with my HUGE new oven and read some of our funny experience with our new oven.

Another outbreak!

I have been extra careful with the boys, especially when we were out in the public. But somehow, the boys are still not spared from the virus that is spreading around.

High Fever

2 nights ago, Kor-kor suddenly became very hot. When I measured his temperature, I was shocked his temperature was almost 40C degree! It came down and then went up again, lasting for 2 days. And today (3rd day), I am relieved that the fever is finally gone.

But the virus does not spare his Di-di. This morning, Di-di was measured at 38.3C degree. Not wonder the whole night he was so cranky until I had to SCREAM at him as he was waking up at EACH hour! The boys damn “lam pong” (weak) as compare to their sis when she was their age :(

It takes so much effort to make sure they gain weight properly (one reason I introduced solid earlier since they are losing weight). Unfortunately only after one exciting week introducing variety foods to them, I had to stop feeding them again, at least until they fully recover.

Oh yes, Di-di achieved another milestone today. He finally turned over this morning. Am glad that he is catching up with his Kor-kor (I guess any mum would not be able to refrain herself from comparing the development of each and every child of hers, what’s more mine who was born at the same time)

Sigh…really tired with the children these days. Soon we will have a lots of noise from QQ after my piano are shifted up all the way from my parents home. Must go sought for a material handling guy to come tune my piano soon. Any recommendation?

Fun during the holiday

I cannot believe that the school holiday is coming to the end. In the beginning I was dreadful when QQ refuse to attend playschool during the holiday. But we ended up enjoying each and every moments as we get to sleep late and wake up very late in the morning. Must get prepared and tuck everything that we no longer use into my Zero Halliburton briefcase now.

Every morning, she on the TV and play with her brothers (treating them like her toys!). Once she is bored with them, she plays with her “Masak-masak”. Occasionally we go out, but only short distance to friend’s place.

We hopped over to Michelle’s place few weeks back so QQ could play with her little friend, Yew Shen.

Even the boys enjoyed their visit as there are so many amusing toys to play with. See Kor-kor happily jumping behind? They were both so excited until Di-di played until he fell asleep in Yew Shen’s cot!

Well, this is the main reason of we going there, to see Yew Shen’s new brother.

I was so amaze that Yew Chuen baby can just lie there alone for very long time without making any fuss at all. Just like his elder brother, Michelle’s boys are so easy to be taken care of.

How come none of my kids are like that ah? sigh, me really “Pai Miah”!!…….Even my CL can’t stand my naughty boys!!

Each time I got time, I have to write a few posts at one time upfront, and schedule them to be released a week ahead. But each time I write, I am always behind time. Even the boys are entering their 6th month next week. *panting, panting trying to catch up with time while busy shopping grabbing clothes with the current sale*

The boys are their 5th month. One morning while I was trying to capture a pic of them…

“Hey bro, wake up!”

*hit* “What’s up, bro?”

“Let’s smile for mummy!”

Flipping over: Kor-kor could flip over, both side, shortly after he entered his 5th month. He could turn really fast up and down now so it is very dangerous to leave him alone on bed/sofa. Di-di on the other hand can only turn turtle when I put him to sleep on his tummy. Still a little tortise he still cannot turn back on his tummy.

Diet: Oh yes, they are doing well with their solid. They are taking cereal (2tbsp) twice a day. For variety, I sometimes add scrap banana, alternate with sweet potato or pumpkin during the morning (10.30am) feeding. Evening feeding (7pm) I dilute their grain cereal with formula for more iron. Rest of the time, only wants mummy for direct feeding on breast milk.

Sleep: Now they are older, they nap only very few hours during the day. When they are awake, they only wants me to carry them (so mummy try to hide all the time). At night, ONLY MUMMY can put them to sleep. If possible, I let them roll on the bed, until they feel sleepy. If they do not cry and require attention at the same time, I will nurse the demanding one while I pat another one to sleep.

I have no regret to start solid earlier at 5 months plus. Unlike premature babies, I personally think they mature more quickly since they are born at 38weeks gestational week. With the evening meal, they could now sleep better and longer at night (probably they feel fuller with cereal now).

Happy Winter Solstice

Big white ones are with fillings. I bought them. Lazy to pound the ingredients. Little pink ones, are plain and rolled by QQ. This balls are our breakfast in the morning.

While hubby was doing marketing in the morning, he was shocked to see that the price of vege doubled up! It could be due to the festive season, how horrible….!!

Nothing much to do, except sitting at home while enjoying the musical Mama Mia DVD that hubby bought from the market this morning.

QQ’s very first School concert

It has been so long since I wanted to post this. See how tired and tied up I am getting these days.

Despite being held at KL Convention Center, we brought our 2 boys to attend QQ’s first school concert (She demanded that Mummy MUST attend,.sigh) We rushed like mad since the jam is bad, as we also waited for hubby to renew our auto insurance that afternoon.

Kids nowadays are real lucky. See how much we parents had to spend on their concert (custome and a theater for kindergarten concert like this).

Instead of bringing Kakak along (to help carry one of the boys in car), we asked Auntie-Ma (QQ’s ex-nanny) to come along to watch QQ dance since the tickets were so pricey.

QQ queuing up into the hall (photo taken during her dance rehearsal in the morning). It was a tired day for the kids as they got to rush back and prepare themselves for that special evening too.

QQ and her partner on stage. Her first dance, “Getting to know you”, one of the song from The King and I. You think hubby and I enjoyed? Hell, our boys cried like mad until hubby and I had to rush in and out of the hall several times. Thank goodness they slept have way through the concert so I could enjoy the rest of the performance with hits from Mama Mia and High School Musical…*phiew*

My first Oven

Finally after a long, long years of waiting……………………….

I got the Faber 40L conventional oven, my very first oven for my baking *HOORAAYY*!!

I have done so much comparison between Elba, Faber, Cornell and even Hanabishi. Each of them (above 30L) has almost similar features such as Turbo Fan, 4 power setting, adjustable temperature to 250C degree, 60min timer. The only differences between them are:

  • Elba (Has an inner light but the construction looks flimsy)
Faber (Nice solid built up but it comes without inner cooking light)
Cornell( Solid oven but I don’t like the design)
Hanabishi (Solid oven. Too bad it comes without Rotisserie function)

Now my hands are very itchy wanting to bake now. See, crazy or not, sleep and eat also no time, wanna bake some more! *Am lining up plans now for my CNY cookies and tarts* :)

But before that I still need to get some baking utensils, to complete my bakeware collection. How nice if I can afford the non-stick infinite circulon baking tray so that I do not have to use liner when I bake. Time to dig out my le creuset uk dish so that I can make lasagna with my new oven.

I better go polish up my baking skill otherwise all my creation would end up in my brabantia bins, haha!

p/s:I find that larger ovens such as those above 40L has better construction and a tighter door (especially when they comes with 2 hinges). You do not want the hot air to leak out easily when you bake, do you?

Last minute shopping

19.12.08 / best & good / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (2)

Hubby is around these 2 days to clear his leaves and we are shopping again today. It is fun looking at the great Christmas décor in shopping malls. Since we are going to MV today, I hope it ‘snows’ in there today. Actually we have to be there for QQ’s eyes check, but since I am there, I wish to get my oven as well, as if it is going to be my Christmas present. Although I always wish to get a diamond ring (hubby still owes me one until today), I think I better save those money. With the money I saved, I might as well get some good quality gems from the bargain that Designer Jewelry is currently having.

First trip back home for the boys

Last Saturday we celebrated Kong-kong’s birthday while we were back in Melaka. Nothing much special for dinner, but just a cake (my favourite Mille Crepes) for the kids to blow candles (instead of their Kong-kong!).

It was the first time the boys were back in Melaka, after their birth. I was supposed to meet up with a few old friends and some bloggers in Melaka. Too bad, we did not make it as our meeting place, Dataran Pahlawan was too pack (due to the going on PC Fair!).

However Miche came over to my mum’s place and we had a great chat! So good to see you again, Miche, and hey, you look good with your bump ler… (at least can see you gain some “inches” at the right place, haha!)

Nyonya Pineapple Tarts

Miche’s Nyonya Tarts

CNY is around the corner again, and this time I will to bake REAL Melaka Nyonya Pineapple tarts. Although the pineapple jam can be bought easily from bakery shops, I tell you, they do not taste as nice as compare to the Melaka Nyonya homemade ones.

I have called several Pineapple tarts maker from Jonker Street in Melaka if they are keen to sell the cook grated pineapple, but sadly they don’t (of course they are smart not too). Until I found Miche again. Guess what, she will ask if her mum could make the paste for me this time. Geee, *so happy*…..Thanks in advance, Miche!

Thanks to Miche’s effort, last year I manage to learn how to make the beautiful Nyonya pastry from a video of her mum making them posted on her blog. However my tarts did not taste as good as those produced by her mum due to the tasteless commercial sold pineapple jam.

If you wish to taste real Nyonya tarts, quickly place an order with Miche here (although I have no idea how she is going to ship the tarts to you, hehe…)

Hmm….do remember to check out my lovely tarts soon!

P/s: Btw, this is NOT a sponsored post!

Still remember the free digital printing offered by EOE Online Printing I mentioned in my previous post? It is real, and unbelievable. I got my print outs send via courier, right to my doorstep, within 3 days, as promised! I really cannot believe that printing photos today can be so easy now in Malaysia!

Previously I had to select the photos I want for printing, saved them into my thumb drive and walk into printing shops, one by one, to inquire the price of printing (plus service charge) to see which outlet offers the lowest printing price. Some even require printing charges not to mention the long waiting time, and some even require days!

Thumbs up to EOE Online, for being the first photo printing company that goes online, providing the lowest price of printing as of today. With their online print Promotion (4R @ RM0.30 or 5R @ RM0.50) and free delivery for orders above RM35.00, it is definitely worth printing all your collection with them now (better do it before your computer have a chance to come crashing down on your, *touch wood*)

Thanks to EOE Online, they are REAL and the above are what I got for free!

If you wish to get your 50 prints free, you still have a chance to do it as they have extended the contest to another 100 bloggers. Instead of offering a cash review fee for new/latest Blogger’s Program II now (be assure that the first 50 bloggers eligible for Part 1 still get the RM50 for their Part II review), EOE have also UPGRADED the grand prize to an Olympus E-520 kit (successor to one of the most popular DSLRs of the past year) with a 14-42mm lens worth RM2499.00!!!!

I am so tempted to win this DSLR as I have always want to own a DSLR, to capture each of the one time moment of my precious ones while they are still so tender and young.

If only I could win! *praying hard!*

Christmas vs CNY

16.12.08 / Hubby, Parenting, QQ / Author: chinneeq / Comments: (13)

Like any other child, QQ loves the feeling of Christmas. Although we do not celebrate Christmas, I love the feel of this magical season (probably I watch too much cartoon when I was young that makes me want to believe the existance of Santa Claus coming into home thru the chimney!)

Seeing other home so nicely decorated with Christmas tree, QQ wants one too. But of course my ‘Cina-pek’ hubby would not want to spend on the accessories, whats more to store it after the celebration. Here is a conversation how hubby dampen QQ’s interest on Christmas.

QQ: Pa…I want to celebrate Christmas. Got Santa Clause!

Papa: CNY also got “Chai Shen Yeah” mah…(Choy San, the Money God)

QQ: Santa Claus give presents mah….

Papa: ” Chai Shen Yeah” gives $$$ wor….

Ang Pow for CNY Clothes!

We just came back from Melaka today. Since this is the first time going back for the boys, they get Ang Pow from my mum and grandma (hooray! Can use the money to buy for Chinese New Year clothes for the kids!)

My boys are very blessed to receive lots of presents from all my friends, and even parcels from generous blogging friends I have not met before (thanks to all of you!). Believe or not, they are blessed with so many nice clothes that can even last them up to a year (actually I do not have to buy new clothes for Chinese New Year). But like most traditional Chinese parents, I always make sure each of us wear RED on the first morning of the celebration. Since the boys do not own any, I am indeed searching for a pair!

Guess how trill I am when I saw this online shop recommended by Mumsgather! Sell only boy’s clothing, I am now eyeing on their red Kung Fu shirt for this coming Chinese New Year. Unlike QQ and myself who are quite tan, I am sure that my tofu-fair-skin boys will surely look ’striking fair’ clading in those red shirts! (Actually I am hoping that I would win their RM88 cash voucher in this contest for my boys).

Shall check out the shirts myself when I visit Metrojaya MidValley this weekend. Oh yes, they also have an outlet in The Curve, Mutiara Damansara if you prefer to shop there.

More Bento kits

QQ and me were so surprise to receive so many gifts (ice-pop maker, furikake case, mayo container, cute picks, antibacterial food sheet) from this mummy today today. Although I did not tell her earlier, funny, she sent me things that I have always wish to have, adding to all my collection. *weird, wonder how come she could know*

And this QQ was so excited, cannot even wait to open and use the Ice pop maker. Since I do not have any juice at home, I had make Milo Ice-pop. But guess what, our poor Milo did not even have a chance to freeze, as she demanded to see her “ice pop” every hour!

Thanks to QQ, I guess our poor Ice-pop will continue to sit in our freezer till tomorrow morning. If you are interested to get some of these cute Bento kits like the above, go vist her online Bento shop. Even if you cannot find, don’t despair. Just write to her and this Japan craze mummy could import specially from Japan, just for you! Excuse me and I am going to check out the vacation rentals available in Japan now:)
