As if being cursed

This is how my red patches look like. They starts out with tiny red dots, and it spread bigger and surface up on the skin like red clouds. Chinese said it is “Fong Mok”, and it comes out for no special reason. My maid said it looks exactly like her pregnancy rashes, but mine is worst, as it spreads all over me, even my face!
The Chlorpheniramine tablets from the hospital does not help, so I called up Dr.Koe and she asked me to take Zyrtec (cetirizine) 10mg instead. After taking one tablet, the rashes started to go away, but this morning, new rashes appear this time all over other parts of my hands and legs.
I really hope to find out what causes this, as it is so unbearable. Hope it will goes away soon…..
**Scratch here… scratch there**…ARGGHHHH!!!!!

WOW..this quite bad! Looks very itchy aso! Can u take any anti-histimines to reduce itchiness??? Gosh..I’m already scratching myself now…
gosh…. wat happened? hope u get well soon
Hi Chin Nee:
Don’t worry, I had that also a few months after delivered my son. It is come for no reason, anyway, I did not apply anything, I just go after about a month. Just to take your bath more frequently to keep your skin clean.
‘Fong Mok’ can be cured by applying mixture of ‘chinese cooking wine’ + ‘wine biscuit’ onto the itchy areas. An old lady taught my mum when my nephew had ‘Fong Mok’ few months ago. It works on my nephew. Maybe you can try applying on small area, see it helps or not.
Goshhh….didn’t know it was that bad. Looks like ‘fong mok’ hor. What causing the thing? Something that you eat? Hope you get well soon.
aiyor…. quite bad leh your rashes, hope it’s go away fast fast.
wow… quite serious huh!! i heard from the old folk tales, fong mok mostly is because your body is weak.
remember dont eat any seafood cos it will make it more itch..
Alamak….so serious. You should see skin specialist. You know at Tmn Sri Langat,
Dr. Reddy is quite good to cure skin problem. Maybe you can try…..
Hi Chin Nee
I’m new in the blogsphere. I also had ‘fong mok’ during my confinement. My mum taught me to rub the area with ginger+’chinese white wine’, to reduce the itchness.
And can I link you in my blog @ momkidspace.blogspot.com ?
Gosh, please dun scratch them, I know it’s itchy, but try not to scratch.

Wow, would it be due to your sofa or bed/esp matress is not enough clean? I don’t think it is due to food….this first time, it is red patches, but, next time round, your eyes might get swollen due to my own experience….take care
kesina ler…hope u get well soon
wrongly type…kesian… i mean:P
After looking at it ..I’m more definite it’s either Foong Mok or Rosella. Rosella starts with small lesions than grow & expand like a rose. I had Foong Mok when I was in confinement. Probably due to exposure to “Fong” or Cool coz I wash the bathroom, clean the fridge..on the air cond. Applying Brandy & calamine lotion did help. I didnt take anti histamine cz I was afraid it will amke my twins drowsy too as I was breastfeeding them. My kids has Rosella.. no reason just a viral attack.
it looks like what i got during pregnancy. I read it said some ppl will get after delivery and some will get almost the whole body…
I got during pregnant with Ariel but on tummy only..patches of red and really itchy…
I hope you are now much better now…
this is really abd, u shd go see some other specialist, dont know if dr koe can help much or not. zyrtec is anti histamine and it returns means it cant help, so quickly go c specialist, i see the pic oso gatal all over liao
take care
Wow tat’s bad. You better find out what cause that to prevent a repeat!
Its called Hives. I lived with it for 6 months. Almost drove me crazy. It would appear every evening and it felt like the bite of a 1000 mosquitoes.. Zyrtec would help for a little while and then it would come back the next day. Strangely, it disappeared on its own after 6 months but it was torturous.
Oh, I also had it a few months after delivery. Maybe its a hormone thingy. Dunnolah.
Poor thing, that looks quite nasty eh. I can imagine how itchy it is, i had that when I was pregnant with Shern too. Hope it’ll go away soon, meanwhile bear with it la…
Wah….looks quite bad yah. Just tahan ….I’m sure it will go away soon. In the meantime, just slab on layers of calamine. Take care dear!
oh gosh! hope u get well soon…*lends a hand to scratch…*
From the comments, seems that this rash is not that uncommon. But some said it’ll last for a few mths. Aiyo… hope u’re able to find the right medication to reduce the itch. Take care!
If it’s “fong mok” - then pls don’t scratch it. The more u scratch, the more it comes. And they also said don’t expose to wind, it will also make it becoming more and more. I don’t remember whether bathing will make it becoming more or not. It will go away by itself after few days or maybe a week or so.
My gal has rosella before. Rosella is not itchy and it’s caused by the virus.
Anyway, take care. Hope you get well soon.
I used to get this so called “fong mok” since young, only recent years I found out it’s an allergic reaction, to paracetamol (i.e. Panadol) in my case.
If it happens again, you may want to trace back what can be the factor, or do an allergy test to find out what causes it?
The last time I got this was when I had a suspected food allergy. But it went away after a few hours. Hope yours will subside soon. Take care.
Perhaps you should ask your maid clean and change all the curtain, bedsheet and towel and keep yourself away from dust.
yikes, get well soon
OMG! It looked really bad! hmmm.. if it is “fong mok”, did you try using the white vinegar? Maybe you can try apply on one area and see if it works?
