Still diarrhoea on the 4th day

It has already been the 4th day, and QQ is still having diarrhoea. She is really skinny now as she has not been taking any food (including milk) since Friday until now. Really sad to see her like that. Things get worse when she developed high fever 2 days ago. All the virus in her body made her so weak and fragile that she only lie on the sofa with eye open and close :(

It is really tiring as we still have to take care of the 2 crying boys! I got to keep on washing my hands all the time, hoping that the boys will not get the virus from their sister. But it is also hard to prevent as we are living in the same house, sleeping in the same room and most importantly, QQ still need mummy to hugs her, and coax her to take medication most of the time. ( I cannot be keeping on changing my clothes, right?)

So today she is skipping school. Will get her some toys from the green gifts corners. Hope that she will get well soon and the boys will be fine.

  1. hmm..makes me think about getting the Rotavirus drops now for Ryan..Poor QQ…must drink alot of 100plus, instead of water…I feel for you..take care ok. & try mapping the floor with Dettol,a small cap into a pail of water will do, it makes you feel safer…U know what I mean…

  2. sorry ya..it’s mopping the floor..not mapping..:)

  3. My son has also experienced diarrhoea when he was 3 years old. Went to see doctor for few times and the doctor advised me to stop all milky product for him and replaced by soya milk. But still my son vomited everything and lastly I just gave him plain porridge and 100 plus. My advice is that let your kid drink 100 plus to ensure she won’t get dehydration. Although drinking plenty of water is also helpful but the effect is not as good as drinking 100 plus for preventing dehydration of the body. Wish your kid will get well soon and be healthy again :)

  4. I hope QQ will recover soon.

  11. Hope QQ have a speedy recovery. Let her take some supplements to keep her strong. You can also let her take Yakult / Yogurt drink to boost up the good bacteria.

  12. very much similar to Rotavirus, my twins got Rotavirus last September and were admitted to hospital for

  18. oh gosh….such a torment time for qq & you! hope she has gotten better by now……..poor girl !!

  19. How’s QQ now? Hope she’s started to eat edi.

  20. Yeah, stop her milk and give her soya milk instead.

Actually, sugary drinks like 100 plus will make it worse. Didn’t the paed prescribe dehydration salts (Smecta)?

Drink lots of water or if she’s not a water drinker, try apple juice.

Also, avoid fruits, fish, pork. Plain porridge, bread, toast, cream crackers, banana or any high-carbo food will help to harden the stools.

Don’t worry about passing it on to the twins - since they are mostly on breastmilk and formula, they shoud be fine. Just ensure anything they put into their mouths is clean!
