Medical lactation or “Nai-Ma’s” Help?
With the current incident of contaminated milk in China, I guess many pregnant mums lagi wanna die-die wanna breastfeed their babies like I do. Thanks to my boh-kam-wan attitude, the twins are now solely on bm, but of course after putting in lots of effort.
For people who are not blessed with good milk supply like me, these are some tips I tried to increase bm:
- Drink lots of fluid (milo, milk, etc) but it did not work for me
- Drink green papaya soup and all sorts of soup again sadly it did not work for me
- Find medical help from breastfeeding consultant it helps when i was prescribed with Domperidone pills
- Take the above fenugreek tablets, can get from GNC @RM62.90/bottle Engorgement starts when I started this 2 days ago!
- Or buy raw 50sen fenugreek seeds from the kedai runcit took this last time with QQ but now, hubby said worth paying GNC for the USA imported tables for his twin boys!
* Even though I manage to exclusively feeding the boys now, still do not experience dripping or wetting my shirt until today :(* (but at least after delivery, my face is clear of acne 
After the recall of the milk powder, I wonder what mummies in China now are feeding their children with now. My friend said demands for hiring “Nai Ma” (Lactating Mother who has just gave birth) to breastfeed their babies even increase tremendously, just like how we engage maids here. How nice if I can engage one also for my boys when my supply was low!
eeee CN i wouldnt want my kids to suck other women’s milk. Nothing beats our very own precious asset producing our own blood for our own precious twins. I was really blessed that I didnt have problem breatfeeding them till 2 yrs without formula…all thatu mention above wrks for me & I didnt nid to take any herbs.
Ya I feel very weird if my child sucking other women’s teats haha. Well I try the fenugreek seeds b4 and the taste yuck!! Might consider to get this fenugreek pills next time. Thanks for sharing.
CN, i am also bf my 7 weeks old son now, and he is a gourmet, eat every now
and then whenever he likes, almost every one hour. And most of the time, i am
not sure if i have enough bm for him…plan to bf him as long as i can, and i am
just like you, soup doesn’t help me. Is fenugreek really that helpful? how much
is the increase in your bm after taking fenugreek (in terms of oz)? really like
looking at ur twins, they are so so cute! i am sure you have enough supply of
bm, if not they will not look so chubby
ei isnt it better can exclusively bf ur twins n din experience leaking… better ma if leak ha very oily leh

I have tried the Fenugreek from GNC for my gal before… it did not really help in increasing the supply but it did help for the milk to come earlier than the next feeding time. Now for my boy I’m taking the fenugreek seed from the organic shop, I found this is more effective. When I cook the soup, I put one large scoop of the fenugreek seed to it.
My way to maintain the milk supply: -
1. Domperidone pills (not at full dose)
2. Soup with 1 large scoop of fenugreek seed (cook at night using the large size slow cooker - full pot. Bring to office to drink on the next day.)
3. Large volumn of water (from after coming home from work till before I go to bed I can finish up to 5 gallons of water!)
4. 2 hard-boiled eggs per day (protein helps increase milk supply)
Ya…I agree with Cheeyee…drinking fluids is WATER. Have a HUGE bottle of water next to u, all the time. Drink drink drink…. Fenugreek aso works. Wish I cud give u some..it’s quite cheap here….
u want ur boy to suck on other ppl’s nen nen meh… keep on breastfeeding and sure got milk milk one..hehe..

Coz it’s real funny to have someone at home feeding my baby .. Anyway, I am here to share with my own experience on BF … By drinking malt drink (like beer without alcohol at all), my BM increased massively! The yeast in those drinks can actually boost up the milk production … Just my 2 cent advice 
u know once my cousin was bf her kids, she pumped out a bottle of her milk for my lil issy to try, but lil missy rejected. kekekee…

and ya, i agree, the thought of having your own having other people’s BM a little geli la but with the recent contamination, i guess other ppl’s BM is way better than poison eh.

Am really glad that the fenugreek seeds helped boost your supply. Milkmaid tea helped me a great deal too. As long as your boys are gaining weight, that means your milk is enough lar, dont worry. Just let them suckle more… all day and night and your supply will increase, hehe…. that’s what I do… very tiring but worth it.
i tried the GNC fenugreek too but did not work for me. neither does all the other items you listed down. but, my son has enough bm for now. maybe i just have higher expectations of myself because now, i have 30 bottles of 3 ounces ebm for my son. so, i’ve stopped putting pressure on myself and just feed my son as much as i could.
i think i would be jealous if my baby sucking other woman’s nei nei le…

hi, what is fenugreek seed call in Malay? what type of kedai runcit sells it? is it by Indian or malay kedai runcit?
to YS : Fenugreek is called Halba in Malay. U can get it from any market that sells Indian food. I bought a lot for less than RM2
But I couldn’t eat any of it cos the smell is too strong.
