Baby Then already refuse bottle

You must be wondering why I still have time to blog. In fact, I squeeze time to do that. I can let go of writing paid post, but definitely not going to miss anything about the children’s childhood here.

After the CL left, Baby Then (twin 2) starts to refuse bottle. Whenever I shove a bottle into his mouth, he will push away the bottle, kick both his little legs, and scream to protest with all his might so that we take the bottle away. Since I have to be with the boys all time, the only benefit I get is to glue myself to our new HDTV, catching all the nice dramas round the clock again.

He really display being a more demanding child as compare to his kor-kor now. Refuse to sleep unless we carry him until he doze off, open his eyes whenever we put him down and worst of all, now he is only willing to drink from mummy directly! (sorry, Son for complaining so much about you, but where mummy go so much milk to feed you round the clock ler????)

Since my milk is very limited, I have to be fair to feed both of them directly, thereafter top up with some formula. In fact, I guess another way is to breastfeed exclusively only one child while the other on formula but this is not gonna be fair, right?

Ok, ok, will drown myself with green papaya fish soup tonight and see if it helps. Some said by adding peanuts into the soup, it will work better.

By the way, can I take peanuts now since I delivered by c-sect?

  1. Hi Chinnee, I think you should relax in order to let the milk flow more? I heard that drinking lactating milk helps, or even normal packet fresh milk. May be you can try? I know how frustrating it is if your milk supply is low. Try to drink more or consult those experienced Mommies? Wish you all the best… :)

  2. Ai yo…banyak kesian la. Try this, while he’s enjoying drinking from you,
surprise him by moving out your nipple then quickly put the bottle teat
    to him.

  3. No peanuts - it will delay your wound from healing

I think papaya soup is good enuf - if the fish necessary? coz later ur milk will
    have fishy smell

drink lots of water - and aso have some rest

  4. yalor….kenot be unfair one……..both must consume mumy’s gold milk ma!! hahaha….a thg that twins’ mummy must take note….
just dun give up, try again ! think avoid peanut at d meantime is better.

  5. aiyo..my baby also refused bottle when he was abt 2mo…why they get so smart so fast???

I wonder why they reject it…sigh..

  6. Chinnee maybe he familar to your smell ade. Try ask maid to bottle feed him in another room. My friend try many teat and her son accepted the Chicco brand. You can try pump out your bm and feed Then on bottle. He need time to switch it.

  7. mama always want to be fair to twins but… bf twins is v tough ya!~

    がんばって Ganbatte!!

  8. yea i agree maybe he can still smell you. perhaps get hubby or maid to feed him away from u. the other thing i’ve heard too if baby refuses the bottle esp whn moms have 2 go back 2 work. after a while, because of hunger, babies will give in. but u have to be firm and not to be around when this happens coz they can smell and hear u. will be tough for u since ur at home. the other option is to ensure your milk supply increases to meet twins demands.

i totally respect moms with twins and also managed to feed them BM exclusively. so this means u also can so dont give up so easily. try and relax and dont stress yourself out so much. hang in there yea!

  9. Chinnee,
Relax and take more fluid. One glass before and after feeding. I alwiz believe the more you breasfeed, the more supply you get. That’s mother nature. U must have enough peace and stress free, too. As for papaya soup, i used ripe papaya which is red and sweet. No need to add peanut or groundnut because your babies may be allergic to it. At this age, peanuts, citrus may be harmful to them. Gotta take more vita C , too coz breastmilk has no vit C.
Hope this helps. If I can breastfeed all my 4 kids for about 8 months to 2 years without formula supplement, you should be able to.
    Take it ez.

  10. take care Chin Nee. u can do it :)

  11. hey just relax…feed on demand, then more milk will come :). hmm..not sure bout the peanuts thing. but black bean soup with pork is supposed to increase milk, i drank alot of that before and after deliver. u try n see

  12. my cl gave me onion and pepper soup + pork. Works fine for me :D

  13. Oatmilk or soya milk was believed can boost breastmilk too.
Can also try halba seed soak in hotwater to boost breastmilk.
And don’t forget to take calcium supplement too. This supplement usually ignore by breastfeeding mother which can lead to low bone density(osteoporosis).

  14. mummy nipple is such more softer than bottle nipple. And they seemhad develop a preference to mummy one.
Can try spoon feed or syringe. or even cup feeding.

  15. Then is slowly showing his true colors. He was giving u an easier time during confinement, now it’s time to be more demanding. hehehe

  16. Yeah, perhaps getting someone else to bottle feed him is easier… coz babies can smell their moms. It’s good that he’s got a good appetite, maybe he can help make milk supply from moo mommy even more *kekeke*

  17. If you are breastfeeding, try not to take peanut. Baby may get the allergy.

  18. don’t take peanut..you can try the milkmaid tea…

  19. Chin nee, I cooked the raw papaya soup with hong cou, pak hap and pork rib, got to know this from a nurse in GlenE.

  20. Seems like your hubby has made a good choice of taking the kor kor .. hahhaa

  21. Chin Nee, u must have over stress taking care 2 babies now. Actually, u can seek advice from doctors for the milk supply problem coz I heard my sister in law mentioned before, doctors do have pills for helping in increasing the breastmilk supply. Really hope to visit u n babies but need to wait until Dec while school holiday start. Take care n don’t make urself too tired for the babies n take some times to go out and relax with Qiqi n ur hubby too!

  22. If you are still breastfeeding. Don’t take peanuts. It can be very “toxic” to the babies. Zac broke out with serious eczema cos I started eating it after 2 mths while still breastfeeding :(

  23. you just gotta keep trying, when he’s hungry he’d go for anything.

  24. Maybe, he know he is the youngest….so, get more pampered mah…

  25. How about making the formula thinner? One of the nurse in the hospital taught me to make the formula thinner(less 1 scoop of formula) for the baby to drink. This is because babies are get used to drink breast milk which is thinner than the formula milk.

My Ryan accepted the formula after I followed the nurse advise.

  26. Peanuts..to me better don’t. Cos after consuming it, my nose again grow another one big pimple….I think peanuts are very “poisonous”….I just got rid of one pimple on the nose the other day..now it’s coming back…aiyoo.peanuts’ at fault….

  27. Mind you, twin 2 always is the cheeky one and full of “great” idea. hahahah

  28. Papaya soup does not help to increase the milk for me. Mother’s Milk tea does. Most importantly, stress will cause the milk to decrease, so you have to try to relax. I know easier said than done but stress is really the culprit. It even made me all dried up last time.
I avoided peanuts but still ate almonds, cashew nuts and sunflower / pumpkin seeds during my confinement. Even ate an egg a day. No prob for me.

  29. Chinnee, maybe if you see a lactation consultant it will help. Dr Koe in OUG is a good one. She doesn’t ever charge me any fees, only medication, because she advocates breastfeeding.

I have trouble with one side, but manage to produce 32oz from one side alone, the other side 12 oz daily, totalling 44 oz per day. For you, if both sides are okay, you probably can get 64 oz with both side daily, and that is enough for 2 babies.

those tide me over in my difficult days when Ashley was young

  30. i take calcium lactate to prevent osteoporis*’:

  31. too much vitamin-a can also cause osteoporosis but aging is the number cause of it *-’
