I am force to take contraception!
Before I was discharged, the doctors talked to me, asking me about my family planning. When I told them I have not discuss with my hubby and decided, they insist that we let them know our decision before I can discharged.
So when hubby came to visit, they discuss with my hubby again on this matter and insist an answer. Reason given is that I should not be pregnant for at least 3 years so that it would not stress on the bad wound since I carried twins.
Wanna know what was my answer ?
Haha……of course I told them I would take daily pills lol (surely they would not check if I eat daily or not right?)
Anyway, is there such thing that twin mama should not be pregnant again at least for 3 years? The same goes for c-sect mama?
Eh..me too! Everytime a Dr or Nurse visited me, they asked me what contraceptive we’ll be using. I just mumbled, condoms. But it’ll be more like abstinence. WAKAKAKAAKAKAKAKAKAAKAK!!!
But, a c-sect mom (singleton or twin births) shudn’t get preggie again for next 2 years. Or it may damage your uterus (as it was a major surgery). Very risky.
Ya ya, not only shouldn’t get preggie too soon but should not lift heavy objects or squat too much cos the outer layer of the skin might look recovered but there are still many inner layers to be healed.
Tats what I heard from my colleague who had twins & c-sect. After all the precautions, she manage to deliver normal for her 2nd one. Our body need sufficient rest to recover else more complications in future. Waahh…so plan you’re planning already ah? Hehehehe.
i think there must be good reasoning behind the advice. though i had friends who had c-sect (single baby) & got pregnant again after 6 mths & it seemed everythg goes on well but don’t think u shd risk trying that !! some more now that u r so handy, it is wise that u head on to yr dr. advice & go for a safe, comfortable & effective contraception!!
btw, heard that taking pil can make one very fat wan woh…..!!!???
wahseh, u are already thinking for the next baby? hahaha… better listen to doc, so no need to worry about getting preggie b4 the 3 years are over o.O
That’s what I heard too, kenot be pregnanct for next 2 years at least.
It depend on the wound itself. My doc gave me 1 year, I think.
I think he is advising you for your own good.
Alycia was born via c-section. I conceived Sherilyn when Aly ws 6 mths. Sher was also delivered via c-section. 3 yrs later, another c-section. I think no hard and fast rules wan. My gynae told me a Jewish woman had 7 c-sections!
You are planning for another one? LOL.. but think the doctor has its reason saying so.. so be a good girl..hehehe

i remember my gynae told me not to get pregnant for at least a year after ashley’s birth which was via c-sect 
what I heard was 1 year… but I also know people who got pregnant before that 1 year… so I guess it depends on the person and the wound..
hmm i heard within 3yrs not advisable, altho i noe few within 1-2yrs another c-section, but i think not so advisable
my gynae said after 6 months can preg again…but i personally feel after 1 year is the best. Give your body more rest mah!
Aik, my gynae didn’t asked me this question but instead I asked him when
can I try for my second one again although I go thru a C-section on my 1st
one. According to him, so Mommy will conceive again after 3 mths. For me
I conceive again after 6 mths. But I heard from many other gynae they said
atleast 2 yrs.

i guess the doc/nurse is just doing their job in giving advice.

I think is it up to individual body how strong or weak is a person’s body….

Give yourself time for your body to recuperate. I read through your previous posts & see that it is really tough on you to take care of the twins esp for the first year. You have to train your maid quickly so that when CL leaves your maid will be your best helper

i think they just want the best for u guys la. Its true la…better take contraceptiive and no need to worry about getting pregnant again for a while.
I guess it’s normal procedure gua… so that no abortion happen ended by unintended pregnancy.

there was a gynae (not my gynae) who told me that get pregnant 2 or 3 years after c-set doesn’t mean won’t stress the wound, there is possibility to be happened, depend on individual and the wound…
My gynae did ask me too altho I had normal delivery. Guess it’s a std question. N more important in ur case of C-sect for twins.
I think shd listen to doctor..it’s better. And I think, getting pregnant will be the last thing on ur mind now, cos 2 little boys & a girl..enuff for u to busy about for the next 2-3 years :)…..

am not sure abt being pregnant after having twins, but as for c section, earliest will be at least 6 mths after c section to get pregnant again. for ur case, since u hv twins, i would say u wait at least 1 -1.5 years later.
Personally, I think you ought to let your body rest and heed the doctor’s advice. My obgyn asked me what’s my choice of contraception and I just told her abstinence.
She didn’t push me into taking pills or other contraceptive stuff; but if I’m interested in any, she will be available for me.
opps! I’ve not been taking any contraceptive prevention myself.
Hmm… actually, better not plan anyone at least for a long time, cos with twins and QiQi going to primary 1 very soon, you’ll need your time to balance. Until you can cope, then can choose whether to forgo contraceptive or not. Accidents happen
Well, I think the form of contraception is really up to the couple, but the doctor will know what is best for you, i.e. to delay future pregnancies till a few years later.
i went for c-sect too, but my doctor told me i can get pregnant after a year. y urs have to wait 3 years?? maybe due to your condition…must get advice from ur doc probably if u want to have another bb.

i was c-sec and my doctor advised me to wait for another 2-3 yrs for the 2nd pregnancy… dun think twins mama will need to wait extra long

Me too..when I delivered my 3rd baby, was asked to allow my wound to heal and told not to get preg within 2 yrs.

actually, aft 1st born, i took oral pills, n i find it very troublesome. yes, like u said, remb to take it or not is an issue.
the reason is tt i wan to let my body rest n recover well b4 i get another offspring. i wan both kids to b the best of health. by maintainin my own health, den i can giv them the best.
so now, 2nd wan i m using a 3yr implant
Hey, my gynae even encourage me to get pregnant when I’m ready after deliver of Isaac…..he,he….he even said, I can have 5 babies through c-sect (same site)
