C-sect bleed more?
Just a quick question here.
First birth (QQ): Normal
Second birth (Twins): Normal attempted followed by c-sect
More bleeding for c-sect
I bleed so much after delivery as compare to my first delivery until there are few times where blood flow down my leg the moment I stand up. During QQ’s time, there wasn’t much discharge after delivery.
Not sure if this is normal (I did not wanna ask the doctor just in case they stop me from discharge), but according to some explanation, it is normal. For normal delivery, doctor korek (I mean clean) all the lochia out from vaginal but in c-sect, it is impossible for them to do that.
Extreme internal wound pain
Aiyo…normal delivery, I could already walk like normal people on 2nd day but this time for c-sect, already 4th day, my internal wound (I suppose that is the stitches of the uterus), it still sore like hell! Thank goodness they have not perform episiotomy on me during the vacum procedure otherwise I’ll suffer like mad now with 2 cuts.
Any mum with vaginal and c-sect experience can share?

aiyo i oso feel the pain, but last time wit the 1st one normal birth it took me almost 1 mth for me to recover, 1st 3days cant stand at all, feel like black out, then the next 1w cant really walk, so teruk… but 2nd one so good after deliver rest few hours then can RUN, hahaha
Take care!
Hi Chin Nee, no worry as I’m also the same. I remember for my 2nd delivery I suddenly blackout the 2nd day and the flow like ‘Air Terjun’ hahaha … I’m like u too very scared and the wound sore and very pain. I think its tooks me about 1 mth to recovered. As for you I think it will take sometimes since you got 2 cuts no worry.
Remember u delivered 2 babies and not 1. Rest more and don’t spend so much time on blogging not good for ur eyes during pantang period ok. Take care dear!
both my kiddos i had c-sect but the pain still bearable can get down from bed on 2nd day but the 2nd c-sect abit teruk as i had veri bad bleeding until i hv to go to OT to take out my womb, so my gynae put me on medicine to control the bleeding luckily it stopped if not i think my womb is gone….. so no more 3rd one for me after this incident….. veri scary.
:S
Me also hoping that my brith will go smoothly like when I had Izac…
don’t worry too much. My former colleague has a c-sec too and she has the same concern like you are having now. After 1+ month, the blood still flow like nobody biz. If you are worry, see your gynae, trust he/ she will be in a better position to advise you or explain to you.Right now, take as much rest as you can….confinement is very important.
i bled a lot for my 2 c section. took abt 6 wks to clear. not only that, during my 2nd c section, i lost 2 pints of blood, hence, gotta hv two pints of blood transfusion!
so u r lucky.
it will take about 3-6 mths to be well. dr cut 3 layers from ur stomach, stomach, muscle, then the uterus to bring bb out. so try not to cough or sneeze too much during the 1st mth.
yes, confinement is important and dont walk so much
rest well
From all the c-sect story I have heard, the bleed is lesser as compare to normal delivery.
anyway, you take k ah!!!!
I cannot help because no experience..only thing is take care of yourself ok…
I was like you. Vaginal birth at first but half way have to go for emergency caesarean. Fortunately no vaginal wound pain but becos I tried both birthing have to pay double ler ie hourly charge for use of the birthing room then charge for caesarean, and by the time they got me to operation room it was past midnight so got after midnight charges summore. Aiyoyo. C-section pain is AFTER birth and last longer too ler. Just remember not to attempt to carry heavy things too soon and to hold your wound when making sudden movements like sneezing. coughing etc. If nursing, try lying down instead of putting baby on your tummy or try to put them on a pillow as a cushion for your tummy. All the best in your recovery. Take care.
Hey…yes, it will bleed alot. As long as there are no clots in your blood (u must check it everytime)…then you’re ok. If there are clots, you must MUST see someone quick! It means your blood is coagulating..and not flowing properly…and you might go into a seizure. The one way to prevent this is to walk around alot. If you can, pls ask ur dr for more pain killers…because u really need to have good painkillers, to help u heal.
I had a friend who almost died becoz she had a blood clot in her lungs. So..pls do be careful and watch for those clots(It’s lumps of blood in ur lochia).
You can ask someone to help u boil “sae-tao-yee tong” (Snakehead fish) soup…it’s very good in healing ur c-sect. But, don’t take too much, once every week. It’s very potent..and ur skin might develop keloids. hee hee..
Do take care ChinNee…..blog only when u r resting k!
Both mine are via c-sect, not much bleeding too. After 1 week, i can walk like normal.
u deliver 2 bb ler, sure a little bit extra bleeding lor…hahaha…anyway, do take care and dun carry heavy stuff.
Aiyo…Your twins sooooo adorable lar… made me want to have twins oso
I think there are more tough challenges to come such as breastfeeding both babies at the same time besides bearing the after delivery pain. So, take care and rest more ya.
i was told that c-sect tends to bleed less, actually the saying just opposite than what you said. Through c-sect, the doctor is able to clean everything but not the normal delivery. If you still bleeding, then better check with doctor.
Rest well…chinnee
My first c section healed very well - next day i was up and about like normal. But the second one was baaad!. For one week, it was still painful - only after the dr removed the stitces after 1 week, it was ok. But it took longer to heal.
Try to get more rest - thats the most important thing.
Congrats to you and your twins boys is so cute. Rest more and that is the disadvantages of delivering with C-section. Mine first one c-section and pain like hell after that. Second one attempt normal but end up also in C-section and some more emergency case. But after 1 week it should be OK d and you can walk up and down.
Take care.
Me no experience in this. Rest well chinnee….
i agree wif ur friend hui sia…c-sect delivery will have less bleeding mah..cos they will clean out everything….for me, both c-sect delivery oso not much bleeding..so, maybe u shld check wif ur gynae to see if something is wrong…
for me, i can get up on the 2nd day liao….but i can’t compare wif normal lar..cos no experience…;)
No c-sect experience. Take care Chinnee.
I don’t rem I bleed a lot during both of my C section. Glad to hear that your little ones are all fine. Take care dear, its time for you to really have a good rest to recuperate
My c-sect was ok for both, consider painless. 2nd day can walk and 3rd day walk faster than the doctor…hehehe. I guess it all depends on how the doctor do the cut and stitching. Mine was done very well, I must say.
hey chin nee. i had c-sect but didn’t bleed that much though. just like the usual period but slightly heavier than normal. as for the pain…yup it’s painful and the pain will only be better after a week or so. hang in there chin nee. *hugs*
i bleed a lot too after c-sect until i suspected there was injury of somethg & seeked dr. to check……
but then it seemed to be normal…..
take good care of the incision.
on the babies wailing part……. double joy double cries heh !! be patient….
Ya heard b4 C-section discharge more blood. It’s good to discharge and clean the womb.
Hb fren’s wife operated to remove the ovari. She told a capsule call 箭猪粉 from Yuk Choy Poy. RM200-300++. After took it rellay off the pain.
Hmm..rest well and check with your gynea if you feel ur bleeding is abit more, my sis had a c-section but I hv nvr heard her complaining about bleeding too much.Rest well and may god bless!! By the way, your twins are so adorable and sweet…!!
I had C-section for my girl.. normal bleeding. I think its better to check with your doctor abt it. Take care.
Funny you bled so much coz for all 3 of my c-sections, not much bleeding. And yes, the cut is indeed painful. First csection, not so pain, 2nd csection very painful, 3rd csection, extremely painful! But dont u worry, after 1 week, the pain will reduce. Just take ur pain killers. They will help.
No matter what, everything is just worth it when you see both your boys are healthy & adorable isn’t it?…Take more rest now!
mine also bleed quite a lot for the first few days especially the first few times I stepped down from bed, the blood liked running down from my vagina, after that less until about 4-6 weeks (can’t remember). For the first c-sect I even passed big blood clot. My gynae then gave me medicine to clear it.
for the pain it was bearable, I only felt the pain for the first 3 days, after that I could walk as usual but I still found difficulty to get out from bed until about a week.
take more rest …
I gave normal delivery to my first child, but the second one was under c-sections. I remembered that was lesser bleeding after c-sections as compared to normal delivery. As for the pain had persisted for about 2 weeks, but so much reduced after the first week. Better to check with your doctor if heavy bleeding still continue after one week oh! Take care!
hmm…i think logically speaking, it should bleed more since like you mention they didn’t clean up all the lochia for c-sect. the pain, i guess that’s why everyone say pain for NB is short lived, but for C-Sect…it’s the after effect.
eh if u still get alot bleeding, better call doc and go back check up, make sure it’s normal, not internal bleeding, don’t play play.
My c-section was ok too and not bleed too much, also not too much pain and suffer after the following days. I think it is depend on the skill and experience from your doctor during delivery. To be frank, i have no confidence to those government doctor/nurse as most of them are trainee only, sometimes don’t know how to react during emergency situation.
oh gosh… after reading yr post, im become so scared le!! what if i also need to c-sec? guess i must thinking too much!
do take a good rest ya… look for yr doctor if the bleeding still exist.
i know it’s painfull but you are strong- you can even blog…hahaha. Govt hospital will never do C-sect unless it’s nescessary. they will really push on a normal birth but twins pregnancy is a high risk pregnancy so i think there are good reasons they did the c-sect.hubby works ina govt hospital and i deliver at the govt hospital.
oh dear… oh dear… so when do you plan to have next baby? LOL…
i had c-sect for my baby…my experience is not too bad..but i cudn’t get up from bed for almost 4 days..coz i still can feel the pain of the stiches..(bukannya jahit pun, just clip or gum i guess)..i was too frighten to get up..ye lah first experience…anak first plak tu..and i missed the chance to breastfed my baby coz he was sent to NICU for 3 days..sampi skrg i tak pernah breastfeed baby….dan disebabkan sakit jugak i panned to have my 2nd baby at least 4 yrs from my first….
I didnt know that with normal delivery you bled less. I had c-sec for both kids, same reason , closed cervic, small pelvis, and with both c-sect, i bled quite a bit too.
I have lots of discharge too on my c-sect last time, lasted about 1 month. My doctor said is normal. I can walk on the 2nd day but it was terriblly pain to get down the bed.
Hope you are OK by now!
so serious bleed meh? Me have 2 c-sect, also not that serious wor…and actually, I do enjoy my c-sect…ha,ha..crazy woman lar me…
