Hidden Treasure

This is how my Chicken Little looks now, just like her little cousin.

Don’t you think it looks more like a magnifying glass than specs? When I look at her eyes, and it is sad to see the beauty of her eyes have been covered up and instead she looks like a “fly” with the bigger eyes :(

She does not feel comfortable wearing glasses and she would take off her glasses the moment I picked her up from school. Furthermore, the heavy weight of the glasses is pressing against her nose although we already have it done super slim as her long-sighted degree is too high.

I am sad to see it leaves marks there and wonder will she has low nose since her developing nose bone is still growing.

Nevertheless, I suppose it is a blessing that we find out about her condition now and not later. Also we cannot forget the moment of amusement and happiness when QQ first sees her pores on the skin when she first put on her glasses at the Optometrist.

Thanks to all who shared their experience and express their concern towards QQ’s condition.

  18. dun worry la, she looks cute and best of all now she can see edi. U shud be happy :)

  19. Dont worry CN, i believe Qiqi eye sight can be self corrected if is taken care of… just a matter of time!!

  20. Qi Qi looks so cute and pretty, Chin Nee. Don’t worry, she won’t need the glasses later when she’s older. Got laser surgery :D

  21. Qiqi still looks lovely & adorable. Maybe you can consider to get a lighter frame for her.

  22. maybe you should invest in a light weight glasses ler. I’d seen then on sale.. but I think it’s very expensive. Guess it’s so expensive b’cos it will help with children’s growing bones.

  23. It’s good to discover her eye problem now.. my girl had some squint, astiq when she was 5. She had to wear a patch for almost a year. She had to make glasses for long sightedness too. She was disappointed because she is the very girlish type and thinks glasses are a real pain. I did all I could from lightings at home to better her situation and reduce her television programmes. Now at 8, her condition has not only stable (we had to increase her lens twice before in the past 2 years) and the doc say need to make new lens since now the power has to be decreased by 75 deg! That was one of the best news to us! Doc said if we continue to care and make sure she reads with her corrective glasses, she would be able to correct her long sightedness more in the next few years!

by the time they are a little older and their eyes are more stable, doc say can go for corrective surgery.. i have to see how it goes.

wish you and QiQi all the best and encourage her.

  24. Hope QiQi will get used to wearing specs soon. How does she feel now that everything’s so much clearer? I guess it oso needs some getting used to?

  25. Yiu Yiu has been pestering me for a pair of PINK spectacles. Hehehe…jokes aside, most important is getting her eye problem corrected. The rest can sort out slowly lor.

  26. I agree with jazzmint.. don’t worry ok? *hugs*

    I wear glasses since I was a kid as well… :-)

  27. LOL at LB’s comment.. he is spying IKEA everywhere! hahaha

  28. she looks pretty in her yellow glasses.

check out the special lens i told you about. really it’s very light and it does not fall off. it’s quite expensive but if it will make QQ comfortable and would wear it often why not. My daughter Ish uses it, because if not she’ll have a hard time.

wanna know more about the lense..will write to you soon, Girlie :)

  29. thanks all for your concern. QQ is indeed wearing her specs now, but probably due to the weight (or because it is pressing against her nose), she would take it out whenever after a short time of wearing it.

  30. [...] How QQ initially dislike wearing her first pair of glasses [...]
