Do I really need a confinement lady?
Initially I planned not to take a confinement lady this time, since now there is an option to cater food. But with 2 babies on hand, and not getting my SIL’s experience maid, I would need to hire a confinement lady now, to help me at least preparing the food and bath the little babies ( I couldn’t possibly rely on the maid to bath my new babies, could I?)
Since they are expected to arrive anytime in June, time is too short to call for one now. I called several CL but none is available. Most even do not wish to take up this job after hearing I have got twins 
Even none from my family or hubby’s side could help. My mum still have to work and take care of my little brother who would be sitting for SPM this year. QQ’s ex-nanny has just babysit a little boy. Nor I can go to confinement center as I still have a daughter to take care.
I only wish miracle would happen again to sort this whole thing out 
If all else fail, you can pay a little more to hire part time maid. Part time maid are usually more experience and well trained.
I still think getting a CL is a good idea. Actually, as long as u can get help in taking care of the babies, it doesn’t matter whether it’s a CL or maid or part-time helper. But I think it’s important to hv help at home during that confinement mth.
I too hope everything will sort itself out for you, ya? You need all the help you can get to assist you.
with Qi around, u definitely need a CL. even if u dont hv twins, CL will cook confinement food for u, hubby can take some leaves to watch Qi and pay attention to her. Maid is to do housework, and help confinement lady to wash dishes. and also when he goes back to work, maid needs to help watch Qi.esp like me, my ex maid helped my CL to chopped one whole chicken into pieces for double boiling EVERYDAY… but now twins, yes, difinitely need a CL!!! good luck girl!!! hope u can get a good CL and maid..
You already have headache in Malaysia… Can you imagine if I am pregnant with twins in France… lolz

CL not only ensure that yr babies are safely taken care of, it ensures that u get reasonable rest….which u should not ignore!!

Chinnee, you should hire one, good for you and even your twins. Some more, if the CL is good, she won’t mind to help taking care of Qiqi too.
If you are going to have one bb, I would say cater the food and bath your bb yourself since it’s hard to find CL at this last minute. However, with twins, it’s even harder and you definitely need help. Good luck in finding one. I think Jacqueline will give you a good lead.
I think you should hire a CL… you will have no regrets coz you really need the rest and help. If you don’t rest now, you will not be able to rest for a long, long, long time. 2 babies + 1 demanding toddler wor! I am also very worried for myself now - 2 demanding toddlers + 1 baby to take care of in less than 2 months’ time. Wish us luck!

But, I think confinement home is the best choice as even you hire a CL. After all she has only 2 hands. Then, she still got to cook , and take care of 2 newborn at the same time. Ain’t easy ler…
But, confinement home will have more helpers. May be you can just bring Qiqi along to the confinement home if the is no one can help to take care of her.

Ya, it’s really hard to get good CL and willing to take care twins. I have ask so many, non of them willing, if willing also they want a maid to help them up and some more with high price! RM6000 for twins!! End up i “import” one from Sarawak with cheaper price, and she is from my hometown so thought will be easier, but i had a hard time with her, so not going to recomend her to u.

i think you definitely need some help. Coping with 2 newborns twins is not easy. You need someone to take care of you too

can you imagine when the twins cry at the same time, belum lagi plus qiqi? stressful leh …
you can opt part time maid or check confinement centre for daytime helper..i am not sure how much will that cost…
that is the last solution, but i definitely need extra hand 24 hours a day!

Actually, if there is a will, there is definitely a way to overcome all this….dont’ worry too much. Previously, I book a CL well in advance, but, who know, she ‘fly kite’ and some more cause more trouble to me in last minute till I opt for confinement food and care Isaac by myself. All these happen 1 mth before I due to give birth

hmmm … if you think you need one, better get one. You need to rest and the twins need their caring too.
For us, with some financial lacking, CL is a no no. All do by ourselves. We managed till to this day. But I hope you get it before the due time. All the best

There are confinement ladies who drug newborns with pills, even the big agency in SS2, P.J.
Of course, same things go for ordinary lai ma. Some use alcohol such as rice wine, brandy, etc.
Some parents wake up only after some time.
If you want an Indon maid, don’t get a full-time live in one. My friend had one who used ‘kong-tau’.
And to hear that some confinement ladies charge RM6,000+ if your confinement clashes with CNY because it is not so good luck for them, goodness.

To all the mummies who is facing the similiar situation, go to Confinement
home and ask for a single room. Discuss with the manager to allow your
other eleder daughter to stay in the day time and let your husband bring
her back in the evening. You don’t have to worry about the twins, you
dont have to worry about your other kids. You can also rest and everyone
is happy. There is one i know can do that in Penang, “De Garden
confinement home”. Clean, excellent food, local nannies and washes your
