My Gal speaks “Ang Moh” now
While we were in the bathroom, turning the Grohe faucets, suddenly she said:
“Ma, may I go to the toilet, please?”
Haha….see my girl now could speak better English after she goes to school. We normally speaks Mandarin at home, plus a bit of English and Hokkien. In her pre-school the teachers speak mainly English and she really picks up a lot from there.
(Do note that each pre-school has different focus on their main language so it is wise to check in advance on what language you want your child to pick up in school)
Each night before sleep, QQ would ask me “What day is today” and “What day is tomorrow?”. She is always eager to find out whether she goes to school the next day, or it is public holiday.
To make it easy for her to remember, I wrote some cards and paste them on according to the arrival of the day on my curtain (started with Monday).
This morning, I asked her,
“Which is Wednesday?”
“The bottom one la….”
“Which is Monday?”
“The top one lor….”
Tips: I stick velcro from Mamy Poko diaper dehind the card so they can stick easily on my curtain!

You can also try to get the 3M board. My brother got a few for me from S’pore. Just afix the board on the wall and you can ‘paste’ any type of paper onto the board without using any celo tape. It sticks by itself. Very handy. I use it to stick flash cards to teach my gals.
Shireen, i din know there is such thing. thanks for informing.
Wow, not bad huh, QiQi….Jona learn Mandarin in school too, but, talk a bit like ‘ang mo’…..aiyoo..but, he learn to use proper English a lot like ‘I want to pass urine or I want to pass motion’ instead of pee pee or poo poo…he,he
