How productive are you?
Are you are productive blogger? Productive in another meaning is the output you manage to create (returns can be in either monetary, blog rankings or visitors) versus the input (time spend online, ideas and research). I do start out my passion in blogging then into a money making business (with certain weekly monitoring, measurements and review) but now, more of leisure writing.
Well, I do consider myself a productive mother, as I am able to take full care of my little one while managing the household at home being just a full time mother. On the other hand, I am not a very productive income earner to the family as I have been spending less time on my work at home, but spending more leisure time with my friends and also family activities.
Be it at home or at work, we can always use productivity measures to judge our output per input. To optimise the return and result that we want, we should always measure the productivity of our work (in most cases time spend for doing something). This method is usually used for job performance in the corporate world to measure the productivity of a worker. In return, he or she will be compensated by job promotion or higher commission or bonuses.
Today, most companies use almost similar methods to measure the productivity of their operation. Some companies are using productivity software to evaluate their employees by doing competency test with a goal setting done in the beginning of the year. I remember there was a plan that I need to submit to my boss before the start of a new year while I was working. During that one whole year, everything in my stated objective would come first since the result would affect my rating performance of that year.
The most exciting part was the end year where we did an evaluation to our set objective and see how much we have achieved versus our stated target. The overall ratings would affect the bonus that I would be getting for that period. Chances of getting promoted of course would also depend on the overall results of my scores.
If you wish to increase productivity, either if you are at home or at work, you might want to try out this new self-evaluation productivity software called Measure Productivity to find out how well you are performing and identify areas that needs improvement.
