Good…I don’t need to cry anymore!

Nothing much to write about QQ’s school, as she is still in her usual self, not letting me out of sight. Since she only to school for 3 days this week, I decided to stay on and not let her cry first. Next week, will just dump her in school (might need the teachers help to drag her out of the car, I don’t care) and just let her cry.

In fact, I have already given up being soft to her after so much initiative to help her. I sacrifice my time, started a non-profit oriented playgroup early this year just because of her to let her get use to the crowds. I then travelled to PJ Playcentre every early Tuesday morning, enrolling her into another playgroup, and then expensive musical class, hoping that she will get use to play without having fear of losing me.

Sadly, she just isn’t one of those independent child. And this forces me to use the hard way. In fact just now, while hubby was joking with her this morning, this conversation came and see how she replied.

Hubby: Hah….if you naughty, then you cannot go to school.

Qiqi: Good…better still, I don’t need to cry anymore!

*Kek si* us really!!

  1. Aiyooooooo… don’t know to laugh or angry ah sometimes? That is parenthood I guess.

    it is really crazy moments…arrgghh…!!!

  2. haha wrong threaten

    ya lor..hehe

  3. I was told that the way to do it is to say goodbye firmly and then leave. That way she will get the message. Otherwise, if you linger, she will be able to sense that you are half-hearted and she will cry when you want to go. Well, I guess it’s always easier said than done because our maternal instinct is so strong to make sure that our kids are not feeling distressed.

u r right…i shud be leaving long time ago :(

  4. Don’t be despair. My girl was/is like that. 2 years after schooling and at age 5 she’s still like that - crying and moody. I also don’t know how long it will take that she will go to school happily EVERYDAY

    first child syndrom??

  5. my monkey girl, Clarissa has been crying 3 days straight! and she has been to kindy for the past half a year!

i just leave her to the teacher.

haha…serious??? think she forgot bout school after the shiok holiday at home, hehe…

  6. smart aint she?

give her time la, like a mth la. Ian was such a friendly boy when he was younger from 1.5 -4 yrs old, too friendly and talk too much, and we got shocked when he cried in school…i lagi kick sei ..a mth later he tried to be brave and did it.. if the teachers know how to deal with crying children and is ok with, yes, dump her to the teacher, but if the teachers dont like crying kids (yes, some dont), then no need to go such school la.. i hv experienced myself with a teacher who desnt like Ian crying and left him crying for 45 min and not do anything.. long story

hah…Wen, thats what normally teacher do. Ignore is better than go and “tam” coz they will get more manja.

  7. Wah.ha.ha.ha.h.ah… don’t think their are kid, ok, they can say the darnest thing!!! hahahah….

pandai to trick us hor? *sob sob*

  8. From your description, QiQi is just like Alycia. But funny, at Alycia’s birthday party, she seemed so sociable eh?

Oh Shireen, jst becoz mummy is there.

  9. wah…QQ so young already know to use CRY ahh…Hope everything will be fine soon…eee..or find a boyfriend in school for her :p

    i m trying to…HAHA!!

  10. That can be so tough! When my daughter was younger she would occasionally get like that. If she is anything like my daughter she will stop the crying. :-)

isnt it so tiring to be a mother,??

  11. muahaha..really kek sei lah.

    kek si ler!! hehe…

  12. hmm.. give her a bit more time.. I think once she gets used to being with kids her age and have lots of fun, she’ll be easier to let go?

not really also….betul-betul sticky this gal :(

  13. give her maybe another week to get used to the new environment and new classmates. If she still cries after that week then let her. It’s really hard when our children know how to manipulate us in their own little way. But then again we should let them know that we are still on top of everything. Don’t worry Chinnee, she’ll get used to it.

    yeah…Girlie, thanks so much!

  14. LOL… donno to get angry or laugh…. ;p One thing for sure! She is really clever har! ;p

    i m goin crazy liao!

  15. i think we have to be hard and let them cry. i know mine would when eventually we need to send him to pre-school. this is one moment that i am not looking forward to (the cry) but i can’t wait for some time to myself when he is in the school.

kids are very smart now … tell daddy to use a different approach to encourage her to go school.

oh….daddy cannot be hope. I have to do it alone!

  16. haha..she really knew how to answer back to your hubby!
I hope she can be more independent once the twins come out. :)

    really hope so, Hui Sia!

  17. hehhe so clever to answer daddy! u stay in cheras right? and you drive all the way to pj playcentre … wow really big sacrifice la … :) such a good mommy …. dun worry in ..due time she will learn to be independant.

to be exact, Kajang!! I had enuf!

  18. it’s juz a matter of time, no need to be upset :)

    yeah…but jst couldnt help it.

  19. haha, dont know wheather u should get angry or happy after listen to what ur gal said…:-)

    going crazy…

  20. when she reaches her teens, she wouldn’t be caught dead with you!!! So enjoy the clinginess for now :)

  21. a good new year traditional tag for u have fun

    Hazel, will do soon. thanks!

  22. hmm.. poor u … it’s seem really hard for u . Still need to have more patient .

    hi Anggie, yeah…no choice :(

  23. I rmbr u said she likes this schl. So hopefully she’ll adapt soon and enjoy the activities n lessons. It’s true… don’t accompany her for too many days. U just hv to let go n let the teachers handle her. Hope she’s got an experienced n patient teacher.

i believe she has, unless i judged wrongly…hehe…

  24. i like her answer! hehehe …

    damn cool hor…beh tahan!

  25. QQ is very smart to reply u this way. Anyway, she will get used to schooling sooner or later

    yeah…i know…. :(

  26. My elder boy, Zac cried for nearly 2 weeks when first started school. He cried inside the school n I’m sobbing outside. I think its parts of growing up. It worst that we took care of the kids oursleves & they became so “sticky” to us.

Janice, I really think so it is worse for SAHM :(

  27. Chinnee oh Chinnee, I’m sure u’ve done ur best for QQ oredi. It’s high time for u to leave her at school and u need not have to worry, the teachers will have ways of taking care of her. After some time, QQ will get used to it and knows dat she has to go to school without mummy. She’ll oso get used to have her new friends in school too.

I tell u, Destinee was like dat too when she first started going to kindy but after a few weeks she loved going to school and be with her friends. Kids are like dat, after a while, they’ll be alrite. Just let loose urself, okay?

yeah…i will, just cannot stop my tears flowing down…hehe…

  28. U know, she indeed is a smart girl!!! She know the way to pretend her from attending school….ha,ha..she really so funny and I bet your hubby laugh after that….don’t worry, Chinnee, she will go school one day without crying….

just cant wait to free myself, hahaha….

  29. haha… your girl is very pandai already… she knows the reason why she cry and how to make herself stop crying… cheeky lerr…

tricky hor kids, poor parents :(

  30. well cnee, i agreed that u had done enough (definitely much more than me) for yr lil girl…and since that doesn’t paid off, it would be appropriate for u to change the style/method…i.e. time to be firm & stern!

don’t worry, yr tentative heartache will soon be compensated with sigh of relief when u see her waving good bye to u while walking into her school!!

    wish u luck!!
