The New “Chicken Little”
See this New Chicken Little?

This is QQ’s 1+ year little cousin brother.
This condition is called squint (or “tau kai ngan” in Cantonese) where one eye may turn inwards, outwards, up, or down. When one eye turns the eyes can no longer work together as a pair and a squint develops.
This condition can develop before birth (especially if the baby is delivered pre-matured) or soon after birth.
According to specialist, untreated squints can lead to loss of vision (lazy eye) in the squinting eye. That’s why sometimes we see adults with squint tend to look another side as if the eye is not longer function looking at us when we are talking to them.
This little baby is lucky that her mum discovered this situation very early. The only way to save his right eye from permanent damaged is to wear a very special baby specs which is so pricey not to mention the treatment itself.
Thank goodness we are all blessed with beautiful and healthy child. Just imagine how horrible if the parents are in bad debt and has to seek for debt solutions to pay for their child’s expensive treatment……*phiew*

When I saw the pic, I thot the lil’ boy looked really cute in that specs. But after reading on, then I feel sorry for him for having to wear specs at such young age. But luckily his condition was discovered early.
yes, better than sacrificing the whole eye
wah i didn’t know got corrective measures nowadays!
ya lor…amazing hor!
i didn’t even know that “tau kai ngan” can be so dangerous! poor boy…initially, i even thot it was his toy spec!!
hope the condition can be rectified !!
yeah, thank goodness his mum discovered earlier…
poor child. He’s so good to keep the specs on.
because his vision improves so much after that, so he is glad to have that on him.
Geez… I thought that glasses was for fun… did not know the little boy has eyes problem until I read on…
hmm…this prob seems very common for most kids, just that most parents won’t realise until it is too late
i seriously thought (like the others) that its toy glasses … how long does he has to wear them?
as long as his vision is getting better…but in this case, it is very unlikely, just like normal ppl who are wearing specs
Poor little boy!Pls pray that he will recover soon and need not to wear that specs anymore. BTW, Qiqi really got big eyes and somemore doubled eye lid. Pretty little Qiqi!Yup, we got to thank GOD for giving us such beautiful child.
thanks a lot for the compliment, Yenny :p I just hope qq’s vision is ok, as she reads to near most of the time
Hi, my first time leaving a comment after reading your blog for few months already.
I thought that specs was a toy. I’ve heard of corrective specs but didn’t know that is how it looks like.
Poor boy.

Ooooo….I didn’t realise that the spec is for real….cause it look like fake one and I tho you purposely take that picture for play play one…..the boy really has good mommy that realise about his problem.
yeah…that is a special spec to retify his vision

Good for the boy dat he doesn’t treat the specs as a toy. He won’t pull it out? I’m sure he’ll feel there’s a hindrance and will feel uncomfortable wearing it. Does he have to wear it all the time?
Tracy, he wont coz he get to see things so clearly. actually he enjoys wearing it
he is so cute with that spec… but sorry for the whole story. I wish him quick eye recovery. So kesian.
so cute hor….but glad that his mom found out earlier!
