Fruits below are not for prayers but for my own consumption. Not sure it is my gila (crazy) hormone or what, these is what I have been stuffing myself round the clock. Hope too much fruits won’t harm my body, will it?

I am crazy over fruits all day long. My favourite only used to be orange, but now, whatever fruits I see at the fruit stall, I want to buy them all.
Few days back, got some *yukky* green apples (which I used to hate a lot), oranges, and today some persimmons and pears (for boiling dessert). I even saw some very nice black extremely sweet US grapes (with sharp end) but I wonder if I can finish them all before they get rot.

I even bugged my hubby to take me to eat this “sai-mai-lou” (honeydew snow-ice dessert) while we were in Kuantan.
Again snow ice is never my favourite but that time, I just feel like swallowing all the ice into my body. How nice if I have a machine like the Rancilio Silvia but for ice-crushing so I can crush my own fruit ice! ….*yummy-yummy*….

I don’t know what’s going on with me, or rather my timid girl. She has been attending to her music class for 3 months, and until today, I still have to ACCOMPANY HER IN THE MUSIC ROOM. And I am the only mother who is still doing that, despite my girl is one of the OLDEST in her class.
This evening, they had a rehearsal for the coming Christmas Musical Concert. To make place for all the kids, parents have to leave. I know for sure I won’t be able to go so I stand just about 5 metres away. ONLY 5 Metres away!

Guess what, she started to sob and then came running to me crying loudly. That BIG BUFFALO!! Imagine the disgrace I had. I was so mad that I gave her a big slap on her buttock that made her fly off the floor. Can you imagine how mad I was?
I had to threatened her that mummy will walk out the door and she will no longer sees her mummy if she don’t obey. Then baru she “kuai-kuai” go back to continue her performance (play) while sobbing.
I really cannot imagine what would happen when she starts school next year. It is time to leave her to cry all she want. I know it’s not going to help by giving in anymore. Probably some of you would agree with me.
AIN’T MOTHERHOOD JUST CRAZY?

This was captured when the kids were taking their bath at hubby’s hometown. QQ really had fun “washing” and “rinsing” her little cousin who was taking bath. After the bath, she even told me, “This is my di-di mah, so I wash him lor.” (She really treat him like her real di-di, hehe….)
When I look back at the old photos of her older cousins, they were all so lucky to have each other to play with daily while taken care by their grandmother (my late MIL) when they were young. QQ’s cousins have all grown up, even the youngest is 11 years old now (remember the nen-nen boy?)
Too bad the “new batch” (QQ, 3 yr-old being the eldest, followed by Waii Hiin, the 1yr+ “chicken little” and another baby cousin girl) are all living too far away from one another even though we are all in Klang Valley.
Guess it is time for hubby to invest in another new home together with her brother and sister here in another gated community so we all live near to each other

While I was in my teenage years, I always dream of being an air-stewardess when I grow up. I know that is the easiest way to get a job that enables me to travel round the world. I want to fly to all destination in the world, to open up my horizon on the world different cultural. Never did I thought that I would achieve good results and make it to the local university. After I did my degree and had a boyfriend, I discard the idea of wanting to fly anymore.
Soon after graduation, I get a job nearby and we start to make plans for setting up a family. While working, a friend of mine actually left the corporate world to fulfil her dream by becoming an air-stewardess, based in Dubai. She is now still the air-stewardess of Emirates. Dubai is one of the wealthiest cities in the Middle East. A clean, safe and ultramodern city, Dubai is also a major hot spot with beautiful sea and stunning buildings. With the fine living lifestyle in Dubai, obviously my friend is experiencing the fine living atmosphere in her own built nest over there. She probably would have settle down in one of those luxury apartments in Dubai by now.

In Dubai hotel apartments, one can easily find themselves surrounded by the luxurious amenities and features. As my friend is required to fly around very frequently, she gets to stay in most of the nice Dubai hotels in the city. If you are going to Dubai for travel or business trip and needs any help or recommendation of place to stay, she would be able to assist you.
How nice if I am able to travel to Appelée Palm Island in Dubai one day to visit Fay, but of course tagging along by some little ones and hubby.

A home with a huge garden like the above really looks “shiok” hor? Little Tee is so lucky to be able to run around hitting her golf balls and pick her star fruits from her grandparent’s huge garden. She must be treated like a little queen there with her grandparents, how I envy you, Patsy!!
I wonder if there would be this one day I would own and provide something so marvellous for my kids. Probably a course where I can swing the golf balls? Nah…probably by the time I could afford it, my children would be too old to enjoy them.
*Unless I bury myself into personal loans or home improvement loans, otherwise there would be no way I can afford such luxury in a short time.

A night before my MIL’s prayer, my eldest BIL prepared this for our dinner

A few hours before the prayer, we ate this for our breakfast

After the prayer to our ancestors, we ate THESE…..

I really feel thankful and blessed for the abundance of food that is served. This is what we usually have on our table when there is a celebration in Kuantan.
This is only a partial of the food I taken on my camera. There were so many dishes practically all over our table that we can hardly finish even in 3 days. 90% of the dishes were prepared by our 2nd SIL (they are rotating each time) this time. I really cannot imagine how she did everything just in one morning.
My hubby’s family has a habit of cooking too much food whenever there is a prayer or celebration. But with so much good food at one time, I can’t even get to taste all of them at one time.
But now I am back here, how I wish there is only one dish from the above, ONLY ONE, that would appear on my table right now.

Although not living wealthily, I just realise how lucky I am as comparing to some of my friends. Before we got married, at least we managed to buy a house called our home with some savings from hubby’s salary for down payment. While chatting on a breakfast the other day, I just found out a friend of mine had lots of financial problem and had to refer to IVA for help prior to her marriage. Luckily with the IVA help, they then went to work in overseas for 8 years and with some good earnings, now they manage to stand independently on their feet again.

Even though it is the year end monsoon, surprisingly there wasn’t much rainfall in Kuantan. In fact, it didn’t even rain while we stayed there for 4 days.

So QQ still managed to go the beach on Saturday afternoon, playing with the sea wave with her father. Mummy just sit there alone looking blankly out to the beach, not having a slight idea what to do nor any mood to play. My mood sucks, as I just don’t have any mood for anything these days, but thank goodness not worrying about any credit card or loan problem.
Since we stayed there for long, it was a very relaxing holiday back home, but *paiseh* a bit, all I contribute is eat and sleep while my SILs prepared everything at home
If you look at the food they prepared for my MIL’s prayer and also our daily meal on the next post, you will see how remorse thankful and how lucky I am, as a “daughter-in-law” in this family!

See this New Chicken Little?

This is QQ’s 1+ year little cousin brother.
This condition is called squint (or “tau kai ngan” in Cantonese) where one eye may turn inwards, outwards, up, or down. When one eye turns the eyes can no longer work together as a pair and a squint develops.
This condition can develop before birth (especially if the baby is delivered pre-matured) or soon after birth.
According to specialist, untreated squints can lead to loss of vision (lazy eye) in the squinting eye. That’s why sometimes we see adults with squint tend to look another side as if the eye is not longer function looking at us when we are talking to them.
This little baby is lucky that her mum discovered this situation very early. The only way to save his right eye from permanent damaged is to wear a very special baby specs which is so pricey not to mention the treatment itself.
Thank goodness we are all blessed with beautiful and healthy child. Just imagine how horrible if the parents are in bad debt and has to seek for debt solutions to pay for their child’s expensive treatment……*phiew*

Greetings from Kuantan!
After more than 3 hours of journey, finally we reach this beautiful place and even though it is the end of the year, there isn’t much rain as compare to what we have in KL. We were all pretty tired after the long hour journey and all I did was sleep yesterday while QQ played with her cousins.

Look at how QQ enjoy drinking milk with some of her cousins here. At least here, she has someone to play with!
Kuantan is really a nice town to live in. Since we even have a house here to stay, I was actually bugging hubby to move back and transfer his job here instead. But the thought of leaving everything we have got in our house is a great headache too, as we can’t possibly move all our furniture here into this fully furnished house. Probably I can ask for a removal quote for a temporary furniture removal to make place for some furniture I need from KL. So, do you think I’ll really move back here? It can happen, maybe one day. But nah…it is just a wishful thought!
More funny pictures coming up!

My cousin set up one of his room at home for home theater. Unexpectedly, setting up a home theater requires a lot of expenses. Besides getting a good sound system and a nice screen, we also need to spend for home theater seating and lay the home theater carpet so that the room can have better sound proof.

A friend’s mother is really lucky, or unlucky in such a way. Being diagnosed with early stage cancer, she has to go through a series of painful treatments to save her life. The only way she could ease the pain is by prescribe with opiates for pain relieve. Unfortunately she got hooked to opiates after taking them for a period of time for pain relieve. A patient can even feel the pleasure of opiate and would even ask for more so that they feel better. Lacking of opiate in their body will trigger the sense of discomfort to them. So, instead of making sacrifices going through the withdrawal process, the most easiest way is to continue taking them, with increasing amount when the addictions gets stronger.
In order to save her from going into addiction further, the best way her daughter can do is to send her for a six-week Meditox’s suboxone detox treatment. Instead of going into a drug rehab, they only have to visit the centre to begin the Meditox suboxone detox treatment program for assessment and medical examination. I really hope this painless detox could end her suffering with opiate and also the mental torturing of my dear friend who has spend so much time caring for her dear mother.

We have so much debt these days. Not only we need to do consolidation loan for our vehicle and house, but with the free instalment of small home use appliance, we would even grab the opportunity of going into this simple irresistible free interest loan.
The other day I was actually bugging hubby about getting the expensive 7K rainbow vacuum machine since they offer a free instalment using the Maybank credit card. But hubby wasn’t so fancy about getting himself into anymore commitment since he has to pay for our car and home loan now. It is good in a sense to control our credit card usage otherwise we could run into bad debt situation.

Jewelry represent feminine, jewelry represents richness and status, jewelry represents love. I still remember my mother insist on buying some jewelry with the dowry she got during my wedding. Just for the sake of safe keeping on the gold value and as a gift from her to me, as most Chinese do.

Like anyone else too, I too love diamonds. But I rather choose and keep gold than diamonds for its value over the time. But if hubby were to ask me again today, would I still want a nice diamond ring now, I would probably tell him that I prefer cash from him. To be frank, I have not really found one that really captures my heart, like the one and only ring jewelry I used to have about 10 years ago (with a very long sad story behind that special ring).

But not everyone thinks the same as me. A friend who just got married soon was pretty lucky to have tonnes of jewelry gifts from her parents and even from her future in-laws. Probably they could really afford well so was really given a choice to choose from. She actually bought most of them from an online jewelry stores. Although she made my green with envy, I must admit that her jewelry gift looks very beautiful. From this online store, she even had the luxury of choosing her jewelry from different range of pricing, great variety of stones or type of metal that she wants. Most interesting of all, they all came in nice red packaging with a 30-day money guarantee back. I was just joking with her that she could even use and flaunt with the jewelry for free during the wedding, as she can always return them after that or change for others that she prefers.
