Yesterday nite Qiqi got very blocked nose. Couldnt sleep until i got to stoke on her back (urut) till she sleeps.
This morning we went to doctor, then went to have lunch somewhere nearby. After that we went to search for the sugar paste for her cake, but those shops also very pandai, they are not willing todo it for us unless we purchase the cake from them. Stupid Secret Recipe, charge so expensive!
Luckily, Qiqi is willing to settle for some other cartoon, and she choosed Kitty. So at least we’ll have 1 kitty, 8 lady birds and some colourful choc coated sunflower kennels for her cake decor. Plan to let her to her own decor, just hope she won’t ruin the cake, kekeke….

Story: Jack & the Beanstalk (presented by Audrey Yap)
Craft: Paper Elephant (prepared by me)
Material: Bits of recycle paper (squares or round), a cut out shape of an elephant, a eye and tail shape.
Method: Paste the papers onto the elephant. Kids love play with sticky glue so i cook a big bowl of starch and let the kids mess with it.
Highlight: In the past few weeks, we have been singing some songs (from a reputable music school), and the kids love them especially with the action they had to do together with the song. I am looking foward to introduce at least one new song at each session, towards the end of the playgroup. Maybe we can even get some musical instruments !

This bottle of NiNi looks familiar ? That day on the way back after visiting Uncle-Pa (nanny’s hubby) in the hospital, Lee Yee chie-chie bought a bottle of this NiNi biscuit for Qiqi and it reminds me of my younger days when i eat those stuffs. Usually at home, my and hubby seldom buy those stuffs for her, as we try to eliminate those “unhealthy snacks” . so she only gets to eat those at nanny’s place (usually from chie-chie).

Usually i’ll only send Qiqi to nanny in the afternoon and if i cook her lunch, i’ll bring it over to nanny’s place to feed her (in order to spend more time with her there before i leave her). Today after makan, she held tight to me and say, “I want this Mummy (pointing to my heart), I don’t want that Mama (pointing to nanny). That is not my mummy”. Aiyoo…*broken heart*…
This is the first time she speaks like that in front of nanny and me. As some of u already know, i will be in a flexi sale assignment starting in June (still considering it…sigh….), but after what Qiqi said tonite, i must really discuss with hubby again ……

Till now, Qiqi still cannot understand that the Fried Chicken drumstick that she loves are actually a chicken. Last weekend in Melaka, we saw some live chicken running around.
“coo..coo…cooo….
Mummy: Look, Qiqi, so many chicken here (pointing to those animals)
Qiqi: (looking at those cocks and hens)
Mummy: Qiqi, you wanna eat chicken ?
Qiqi: Ya, we buy chicken from Jusco ya (she’s refering to the fried drumstick)
Mummy: Mummy take the running chicken, we cook and eat his leg ya…
Qiqi: Cannot, after the chicken pain pain, cannot run liao (showing geli face)
Mummy: Qiqi wanna eat chicken ? We cook his leg lar (pointing to the running chickens)
Qiqi: Don’t want. We buy the Jusco chicken ya…
I wonder if it good to tell her the truth at this age that the fried chicken that we are eating are actually from those running life chickens, hehe…

Since our playgroup started in Sg.Long, I have been thinking what’s the best way to get the best name tag for our kids. Initially we used the label sticker type, but most of us tend to forget (or rather lazy) to go and write each time we are there. If we were to use the normal plastic tag (just like those we used when we go for seminar or trainings), the sharp edges pulak is dangerous to our kids.
Was shopping one day in MPH and i found this peg. Similar to cloth pegs, it has got design and colours. So wat i did was to just tie a black card to it and *da teng*, here comes our new colourful fun name peg.
Story: Power of Wind and the Sun (presented by Mummy Joanne)
Craft: Name Peg (prepared by me)
Highlights:
For the story, we got each kid to colour either a picture of the “Sun” or “Wind” during the craft session. During story telling, all the kids go to hold their own pictures and act it out (Joanne’s idea).
For the craft, we did the Name Peg and the pictures of the “Sun” or “Wind”. For those whom miss the class last week, u miss the Name Peg creating, hahaha….

I always try to go back to visit my family, in Melaka at least once a month. As my in-laws have passed away, QiQi only have my father and mother as Ah Kong and Po Po. Hubby loves to tease me by telling QiQi that mummy wants to go back Melaka for milk, haha…

At nite after dinner, we will normally go to visit my grandparents who’s just a “taman”away. When i was young, i used to stay in my grandparents place when my parents goes to work. Me and my brother have always love Po Po’s (my grandma) cooking like her bak chang, and her recipe like stir fry egg curry crab, glass noodle egg, fried mince pork egg. Even with just a plate of plain fried rice with egg, u can smell aroma from the moment u enter the house. That’s how good she is with cooking.

I have lots of memory with Ah Kong (my grandpa) too. He has 3 sons, and me as his first granddaughter, he used to play a lot with me, buying simple toys and stationary home for me when he comes home from work.
Time pass so fast, and now they look so old. I am grateful that they are blessed with good health at this age, Po Po still manage to take care of my lil cousins and Ah Kong still goes to work (more of spending time out from the house to be with his friends).

Thank goodness I still have my youngest uncle who’s family (with 3 young children) are staying with my grandparents. At least my grandparents could still enjoy the growing up moments of my lil cousins.
To all my family in Melaka, I love you

Qi Qi fancy very much on lion dance. During CNY, we used to chase or drive towards the sound of lion dance to let QiQi catch a glimpse on the performance. Even with the loud sound of drum and fire crackers, she just seems to love it and will even rock according to the beating of the music. During mother’s day weekend, on our way back to Melaka, she suddenly cry upon waking up and insisted that we turn back to see the lion dance (dear QiQi, u must have dreamt on seeing it while you were sleeping J )
Upon reaching Melaka, we turned into Jonker street for I know we can easily get one mini lion head for her. Here she is with her lion performance.

To all the lovely mothers out there:

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I’d finger paint more, and point the finger less.
I’d take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
Id care to know less, and know to care more.
I’d take more hikes, and fly more kites.
I’d stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I’d run through more field, and gaze at more stars.
I’d do more hugging, and less tugging.
I’d be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I’d build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I’d teach less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

I remember seeing kids playing something similar at the Jusco play area. Each player holds something similar to an iron and push a plate to the next person (to see if that person opposite could catch). However we have not let Qiqi try before such game, or i should say we hardly let her go near the Jusco playground as we do not wanna be stucked there for a long long time when she tries on those rides, repeat and repeat.
However 2 days back, using the cover to her plastic cooking pan (with a knob ontop), she taught her father how to play this! We were so surprise as she has not even try to play it before, and wonder if she has catch this game from the TV. Kids does has got very good imagination, doesn’t they !

My hubby has been drinking from this Cendol stall since his schooling days so it is a must for us to go for this cendol everytime we go back to Kuantan.

Day 2: Initially we plan to drive up to Kelantan. But due to the very long journey, we decided to just go up to Kemaman for Bake Crab lunch and Hai Peng for coffee and bun. Also manage to visit Awana Kijal and play for a few hours at its beach.

Day 3: A lazy day at Teluk Cempedak. Best part is we manage to bring some sand home (wanna create a small sand pit at home for Qiqi).
